Hi.
In an effort to get to know some of your wrestling tastes a bit better, I've come up with this questionnaire on lieu of re-posting a bunch of "best gimmick" or "favorite wrestler" threads. There are 20 questions. Feel free to pick and choose which you answer, if any. I feel this is a good way to discuss and share wrestling interests without ALL-OUT, OPEN WARFARE.
If you don't post because you think I'm a no good, low down, son of a bitch bastard, I apologize. I understand that I have not been "easy to get along with" in my latest residence here. It is never my intention to secrete menstrual fluids instead of just agreeing to disagree. I just like to talk about rasslin' from time to time. So here is my first baby step: an effort to humanize myself and other TPWW posters.
1). How long have you watched wrestling? (If it's "off and on," include only the total of "on" years)
2). What is your first memory of professional wrestling?
3). Who was your first favorite wrestler?
4). Who is your favorite wrestler now?
5). If your favorite wrestler is not currently working, who's your favorite active wrestler today?
6). What is your favorite match?
7). What is your favorite moment in wrestling history?
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
15). Who is the WORST wrestler? (If other than your least favorite)
16). Who is the BEST wrestler? (If other than your favorite)
17). Choose 5 adjectives to describe the qualities of a successful wrestler.
18). What key factors make the difference between being bored with a match and blown away by it?
19). If you had the power to start your own wrestling company, and the power to hire any five wrestlers to spearhead your roster, who would they be? (Feel free to include past wrestlers in their primes)
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
*). (Feel free to add anything I may have missed, or that you would like to share here)

5

I will always root for X-Pac, even if he has a terrible terrible character and is still giving crotch chops 10 years after DX died.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?

1). How long have you watched wrestling? (If it's "off and on," include only the total of "on" years)
10
2). What is your first memory of professional wrestling?
Hulk Hogan feuding with Sergeant Slaughter
3). Who was your first favorite wrestler?
Hulk Hogan
4). Who is your favorite wrestler now?
The Rock
5). If your favorite wrestler is not currently working, who's your favorite active wrestler today?
CM Punk
6). What is your favorite match?
I'm going to skip Taker/Michaels and say Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect for the IC title
7). What is your favorite moment in wrestling history?
The Rock finally beating Austin clean at Wrestlemania 19
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
As a kid, I lost interest around the time Hart turned heel. I picked up again around '98, then stopped watching again some time after the end of the Lesnar era.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
6 - I have good instincts, but that's about it. Some knowledge of the industry, but far from an "insider."
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
When I was a kid, I used to legit get upset that so many people were tax cheats. I also thought that Jake "The Snake" Roberts could poison people with his snakes, and wondered why they allowed him to bring them out. I was a full-blown mark. I thought the Undertaker was dead, and that DiBiase was a full-blown gazillionaire.
Today, I have a tendency to think something is "gay" if my guy doesn't win. I kind of want wrestling to turn out a certain way, that's pretty markish.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
I started off as one. It was a few years before I figured out that it wasn't real. Around Wrestlemania X, I think. Then I asked my stepfather and he told me the truth. It still looked real, but I was always looking for the "fake" stuff. It all started to make sense once I paid more attention.
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
Four events. Two house shows in the mid-90's, Backlash 2001 and the RAW following it. Having seats along the aisle in the first house show, I got to see how huge these wrestlers really are. On television, they look big, but when you're there; if you're an average guy like me, they look enormous. At Backlash and RAW, the biggest thing I noticed was the pyro. It packs a nice heat wave to it, particularly Kane's.
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
John Cena. I really can't stand the guy. He might be a great person, it might just be the way the WWE is, but I never enjoyed the rapper gimmick, nor the "I show up to work every week because I love this business" one. I really dislike the idea of a babyface who gets booed regularly, and I think it's a sham to keep shoving this guy down peoples' throats. This new "Rise Above Hate" thing is just silly, because there shouldn't be much hate to begin with if you're in that spot.
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
Probably Owen Hart's death, as far as worst. Stupidest would have to be something along the lines of Katie Vick.
15). Who is the WORST wrestler? (If other than your least favorite)
Present day Hogan. And I mean his workrate. I respect Hogan, but I'll never get that chokeslam from the Undertaker out of my head, it's ridiculous.
16). Who is the BEST wrestler? (If other than your favorite)
Stone Cold Steve Austin. I don't think I should explain why.
17). Choose 5 adjectives to describe the qualities of a successful wrestler.
Charismatic, Energetic, Tough, Athletic, Insightful
18). What key factors make the difference between being bored with a match and blown away by it?
The psychology of a match. Things that are done in a way to build toward the finish, that compliment each wrestler well and showcase a variety of moves, and that suit their personas. I tend to think that the more the announcers can justify the chronology of a match, the better this is done.
19). If you had the power to start your own wrestling company, and the power to hire any five wrestlers to spearhead your roster, who would they be? (Feel free to include past wrestlers in their primes)
Stone Cold Steve Austin
The Rock
Kurt Angle
Brock Lesnar
CM Punk
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
Slowly reintroduce the concept of enhancement matches, elongate feuds and title runs, trim the roster.

A)HBK,Rock,Austin,Foley,Sting
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
A) "Dixie I want to love your company I really do,but it's not being packaged like the product it should be.Stop focusing on Impact, and build the shows around the ppvs. Then make them pay off at the ppv. Cause nothing upsets a wrestling fan and makes them stop watching then paying hard earned money for stupid unexciting television. Ya know like BFG this year. As much as you want to be different from WWE,some of the things they do should be copied. Ala character building. Face/Heels clearly written out,A royal rumble type ppv(Cause it works and is WWE's second highest buyrate.

14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?

- listen to the Internet fans..... they are much less in number than the marks, but the marks will cheer/boo whoever you tell them to..... the Internet fans will always find a way to bitch and moan no matter what is happening, but they lived through the ups and downs of the wrestling business for years and know what they like..... and don't hire Hollywood writers to write wrestling scripts, just hire Jim Cornette.....

1). How long have you watched wrestling? (If it's "off and on," include only the total of "on" years)
I've been watching wrestling since 1989 or 1990, at least that's as early as I can remember.
2). What is your first memory of professional wrestling?
My first memory of professional wrestling was of this big tournament in the NWA/WCW in which they had eight tag teams from around the world all competing. I remember throughout the whole tournament I was rooting for the Mexican tag team but when they lost I decided to root for The Steiner Brothers who were representing the United States. They wound up winning the tournament and wound up becoming the first wrestlers I was a fan of.
3). Who was your first favorite wrestler?
When I was a kid some of my favorites were The Steiner Brothers, Sting, Bret Hart and my absolute favorite wrestler of all time was than and is now still Brian Pillman.
4). Who is your favorite wrestler now?
My favorite wrestler of all time is still Brian Pillman. My favorite wrestler that is still alive and in perfect shape to wrestle and may come back is Chris Jericho. But my favorite wrestler that is currently Christopher Daniels.
5). If your favorite wrestler is not currently working, who's your favorite active wrestler today?
I suppose I just answered that.
6). What is your favorite match?
My favorite match of all-time is Brock Lesnar [c] v. Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Heavyweight Championship at WWE No Way Out 2004. I think the underdog story of that match was brilliant. At the beginning of that match you thought (and even when I still watch it I fake myself into believing) that Eddie had no shot of winning and as the match progressed you start to believe. Eddie was on top of his game and Brock played the perfect bully/monster. Even the Goldberg run-in was great.
7). What is your favorite moment in wrestling history?
My favorite moment is when Brian Pillman wrestled in War Games with a broken shoulder. Its so odd but that actually taught me that no matter how hurt or scared you are you always go out there and try your best. Its funny how something as silly as wrestling can teach a young kid such a valuable life lesson.
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
I never stopped wrestling on the whole but I did stop watching the WWF after Wrestlemania XII and then only got back into it during some the the aftermath of Wrestlemania 13. I think what kept me away after Wrestlemania XII was because I never really liked Shawn Michaels so I wasn't very keen on watching his run as the WWF Champion. I came back after Wrestlemania 13 because a friend of mine told me Bret Hart had turned heel so I figured I'd watch again cause I wanted to see what heel Bret Hart was like.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
I really don't know. I think I'm a little too analytical to be a total mark. But I do have an irrational distaste for Shawn Michaels, I know he's the greatest in ring competitor of all time and possibly the greatest wrestler of all time but I still dislike him and I know that is purely a mark reaction on my part as I was always a Bret Hart fan so I'd say I'm like a 6.
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
See above with my irrational distaste for Shawn Michaels.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
I think for the first 2 or 3 years I thought it was all real. Then I thought that all the talk and storylines were faked to get people to watch but the matches were real, that lasted for a few years. By about 1993 or so I pretty much knew it was all fake.
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
I've been to:
A WWE House Show Early 1992: Main Event Ric Flair/Roddy Piper
WWE Smackdown 6/10/2004: Kenzo Suzuki's WWE Debut
ROH Final Battle 2008: Main Event Bryan Danielson/Takashi Morishima Fight Without Honor
ROH 7th Anniversary Show: Main Event Nigel McGuinness/KENTA
ROH Manhattan Mayhem III: Austin Aries become the first 2 time ROH World Champion
ROH Glory by Honor VIII: Bryan Danielson & Nigel McGuinness' farewell show
ROH 8th Anniversary Show: Tyler Black become the ROH World Champion
ROH Supercard of Honor V: Main Event Tyler Black/Roderick Strong
ROH Glory by Honor IX: WGTT's ROH debut/Roderick Strong becomming the ROH World Champion
ROH Final Battle 2010: Main Event El Generico/Kevin Steen Fight Without Honor
ROH Manhattan Mayhem IV: Eddie Edwards becomes ROH World Champion
ROH Best in the World 2011: Davey Richards becomes ROH World Champion
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
I'm tempted to say Shawn Michaels but that's not right. There are far too many of his matches that I love too much to ever hate the guy. Probably my least favorite of all time was Batista because of how boring and useless of a competitor and mic worker he's been.
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
I'll go with stupidest, because worst would have to be one of the many many untimely deaths. The stupidest has to be the Raw Diva Search which would take 15 to 30 minutes out of Raw ever week and at the end of the thing the WWE would be innundated with useless women. Though on the bright side it did give us Christy Hemme and Layla who are two of the hottest girls ever. But if you look at all the contestants only Layla and Eve have remained, so what good was it in the long run anyway?
15). Who is the WORST wrestler? (If other than your least favorite)
The worst wrestler of all time was Tank Abbot, no redeeming qualities at all.
16). Who is the BEST wrestler? (If other than your favorite)
Best all around wrestler of all time is Ric Flair.
17). Choose 5 adjectives to describe the qualities of a successful wrestler.
In descending importance:
Intelligence
Toughness
Charisma
Athleticism
Improvisation
18). What key factors make the difference between being bored with a match and blown away by it?
Story. It could be as simply as Wrestler A working on the arm of Wrestler B, or as complicated as Rock/Mankind Royal Rumble 1999 in which Mankind got so badly beaten up that you wanted him to Quit but you knew he wouldn't because Foley doesn't quit. There are many matches that are athletically great but have no story and fall flat. And conversely there are many not too technically sound matches that have a great story.
19). If you had the power to start your own wrestling company, and the power to hire any five wrestlers to spearhead your roster, who would they be? (Feel free to include past wrestlers in their primes)
Using Current Wrestlers in their Current Standing:
Chris Jericho
Alex Shelley
CM Punk
Kevin Steen
Austin Aries
Using All Time Wrestlers:
Rick Rude
Sting
Chris Jericho
Raven
Ric Flair
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
For Vince McMahon my advice would be "Don't be ashamed of being a Wrestling promoter. Your father and you have made so much money that has provided for your family off of wrestling. I know pro-rassling isn't well respected among the masses but you have more than enough fans that you have the ability to bring joy and entertainment each and every week. Stop fooling yourself into believing you can parlay wrestling into being legit, you can't. And also don't just push people that sell t-shirts because if you push people they will sell shirts."
For Dixie Carter it would be this "You're not Vince McMahon, you can't compete Vince McMahon. Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are leeches that only care about getting themselves over. Give creative control to your company to me."

1). How long have you watched wrestling? (If it's "off and on," include only the total of "on" years)
About 14 years I guess
2). What is your first memory of professional wrestling?
Watching WCW on Saturday's in the UK, was my first consistent watching
3). Who was your first favorite wrestler?
Bret Hart, once I discovered Raw
4). Who is your favorite wrestler now?
HBK, after he came back, he added more and more to his legacy...always had emotion in his matches too.
5). If your favorite wrestler is not currently working, who's your favorite active wrestler today?
Sheamus, think he has something unique about him.
6). What is your favorite match?
Hart/HBK Ironman
7). What is your favorite moment in wrestling history?
HBK comeback when he beat Hunter, at the time it was such a shock, had no idea he would be back for so long, and was shocked they gave him the win.
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
Live abroad where I have no access, so when I am away from home, I can't watch.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
I WANT to be a mark, so depending on what is on, anywhere from 1 to 10. Think its tied to the emotion of certain momenst for me. How well the story is told makes me buy into it.
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
Always mark out for returns of old favs, no matter what age they are or how able....like Nash now for instance.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
The storylines and wanting to believe it was real when I was younger (It must be a LITTLE real!)
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
1, A house show in N.Ireland, Lesner vs Edge main event to give a time frame.
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
Sin Cara at the moment, I just can't care about what he does, can't force myself to buy into him or his matches.
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
The most disappointing was how the invasion panned out, the one that made me feel the worst was the whole Hogan/Hart/Yoko fiasco...devalued almost everything and everybody involved. I would say Mae Young's hand, but it was a through away lower card moment and doesn't have the same impact for me.
15). Who is the WORST wrestler? (If other than your least favorite)
Khali, seems like a really nice guy, but it was sad seeing his mobility at the end, hopefully he won't be back.
16). Who is the BEST wrestler? (If other than your favorite)
Right now, in ring, I think the best worker is Christian.
17). Choose 5 adjectives to describe the qualities of a successful wrestler.
Athletic, Charismatic, Relatable, Passionate, Consistent
18). What key factors make the difference between being bored with a match and blown away by it?
The emotion and the story told beforehand can make almost any match watchable. What makes it great is the story told on the night.
19). If you had the power to start your own wrestling company, and the power to hire any five wrestlers to spearhead your roster, who would they be? (Feel free to include past wrestlers in their primes)
Bret Hart, HBK, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, Undertaker
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
I would tell them that pushing reliable stars is not enough to retain viewers. That people spend money and buy PPV's for all the matches on the card. Good story's from the lowest of the card to the very top not only make things watchable, it naturally gets the crowd interested in people and elevates them. That and I want so much to care about the titles and their histories.

1). How long have you watched wrestling? (If it's "off and on," include only the total of "on" years)
"On" for about seven years straight, from '98 to '05. Been on and off since then, so I'd say roughly eight-and-a-half years total.
2). What is your first memory of professional wrestling?
An episode of WCW Thunder, where Sting had a match with Macho Man, which of course ended in a big run-in by the nWo.
3). Who was your first favorite wrestler?
Goldberg
4). Who is your favorite wrestler now?
Mick Foley
5). If your favorite wrestler is not currently working, who's your favorite active wrestler today?
CM Punk
6). What is your favorite match?
Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle at the 2003 Royal Rumble
7). What is your favorite moment in wrestling history?
The first ECW One Night Stand. Yeah, it was mostly a nostalgia kick, but it was still just so damn good watching it.
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
I lost interest in '05/'06, right around when John Cena was really starting to dominate the main event scene, but that had more to do with most of my time being taken up by college than any real distaste for Cena. I stopped watching entirely after the Benoit murders, and didn't really come back to it until late last year when I started watching PPVs with NoJabbaNoBogRoll and Afterlife.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
I'd say around a 6 or a 7.
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
Back when I first started watching, I was a gigantic mark for Goldberg and would get extremely mad when he was made to look bad. Of course, now I know he was pretty terrible in the ring and allegedly a gigantic asshole to work with, but I still quietly mark out a little whenever I see him. Same goes for any of the old WCW Cruiserweights like Rey and Chavo, and midcarders like Raven, since I had to go to bed before the main events, so I only really remember the midcard.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
I sort of had the "it's still real to me" mentality, where even though I knew it was fake, I still rooted for the face over the heel and got mad when people cheated, etc. I think I initially got into it because everyone I knew was into it, wearing nWo and Austin 3:16 T-shirts and stuff, so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
I've been to two WCW House Shows in 1999, one WWF House Show in 2000, a Smackdown taping in 2003, and one of the very first TNA PPVs (the one that debuted the X-Division Title)
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
Jeff Jarrett. I never liked his personality or his look, his finisher looks stupid, the guitar doesn't make any sense now that he doesn't do the country-singer gimmick anymore, his theme music is incredibly annoying, and I couldn't stand how he used to hog the TNA World Title like a poor man's Triple H.
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
Kane, Triple H, and the Katie Vick fiasco.
15). Who is the WORST wrestler? (If other than your least favorite)
Not counting celebrities like Dennis Rodman or non-wrestlers like Tank Abbott, I'd probably go with Zeus. Although he's a little before my time; a more recent contender would have to be Khali.
16). Who is the BEST wrestler? (If other than your favorite)
A toss-up between Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho.
17). Choose 5 adjectives to describe the qualities of a successful wrestler.
Charismatic
Energetic
Reliable
Memorable
Passionate
18). What key factors make the difference between being bored with a match and blown away by it?
Gimmick Consistency-- Don't know a better term for it, but basically a wrestler's style coinciding with his gimmick. Angle vs. Benoit should be a fast-paced technical clinic, Austin vs. Taker should be a down and dirty brawl. A great match doesn't always have to be a string of high-octane chain sequences; the tone of the match should fit the angle and the wrestlers themselves.
Innovation-- Do at least one spot that I haven't seen before; don't just re-hash old stuff. Or at the very least, approach a spot from a new way.
Suspension of Disbelief-- This one's kind of intangible, but basically it means that even though I know it's fake, make me care anyway. Angle/Benoit from the '03 Rumble isn't just my favorite match because it's a technical masterpiece (though it certainly is); it's my favorite match because even though the Wrestlemania buildup between Angle and Lesnar telegraphed from miles away that Angle was going to win, by the time the match reached its climax, I seriously believed that Benoit could actually win it.
19). If you had the power to start your own wrestling company, and the power to hire any five wrestlers to spearhead your roster, who would they be? (Feel free to include past wrestlers in their primes)
1) Stone Cold Steve Austin
2) CM Punk
3) Rey Mysterio Jr.
4) Mick Foley
5) Chris Jericho
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
Vince: Despite your best efforts to remove your company from associating with it, the fact of the matter remains that you run a wrestling company. Your performers aren't just actors who happen to improvise fight scenes; let them actually apply their craft. And remember that your best promo men of all time (Rock, Foley, Austin, Punk, Jericho, even Cena on a good night) were great because they could cut amazing promos all on their own, without lines handed to them. People can detect when someone's personality is phony and forced; that's why Cena can never keep more than half of the audience on his side. Also, fire everyone in your Creative Department, don't bother with having a Divas Division until you have performers who are memorable and decent in the ring (on a similar note, hire Daffney), and look into working ROH as your new farm league, because FCW sucks.
Dixie Carter: Quit trying to compete with WWE, because frankly, no one is ever going to beat them at their own game. Instead, focus on the positive elements that your company has, pushing things you've got that WWE doesn't (namely the X-Division and decent tag/women's divisions), quit spending money on over-the-hill talent and trying to sponge off what little name-value they have left, and develop and push TNA's home-grown talent. Also, fire Hogan and Bischoff, and bring in Paul Heyman--I know he's got a ridiculous list of demands and will probably piss a lot of people off, but it'd be better than repeating the demise of WCW all over again.

1). How long have you watched wrestling? (If it's "off and on," include only the total of "on" years)
It's been off and on since 1997. All together there's been about 10 years of 'on' time.
2). What is your first memory of professional wrestling?
My very first memory is watching Shawn Michaels ruin the match between The Undertaker and Bret Hart at Summerslam 1997. I fucking hated Shawn Michaels after that and it only got worse after Survivor Series that year.
3). Who was your first favorite wrestler?
The Undertaker.
4). Who is your favorite wrestler now?
Triple H and CM Punk are tied.
5). If your favorite wrestler is not currently working, who's your favorite active wrestler today?
N/A
6). What is your favorite match?
Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin at Wrestlemania. Just loved watching it.
7). What is your favorite moment in wrestling history?
My biggest mark out moment ever happened watching Raw when The Undertaker returned after the casket burning at the Rumble and finally said he'd fight Kane. That's still a favorite moment of mine.
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
I grew bored with the product, really. I still kept up on what was going on and caught shows every once in a while especially when big things happened like Bret Hart's return and Shawn Michaels' retirement. I really wanted to go to Wrestlemania to see his last match, but my work sucks and I couldn't get the day off. I started watching regularly again around Wrestlemania this year because my buddy and I talked about ordering the PPV since it had been awhile since we'd watched one.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
I'll just say 5. The happy medium.
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
I still cringe at spots that look really gnarly but I know are a total work. I just can't help it. Even if it's a work doesn't mean it feels good.
I defend the business all the time when people say it's fake. I also bring up putting my brother in the Sharpshooter and making him cry. Haha.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
I was a complete mark when I first started watching. I had no idea it was a work until my uncle (also a huge wrestling fan) told me it was. Surprisingly, it never changed how I looked at wrestling. It actually made me appreciate it it more since it looked so real to me.
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
It's definitely different when you're there. You get to start chants and really get into it in the arena. A live wrestling show will always be more exciting than seeing it on TV or PPV.
I went to a few Raws, the first one being in 1998 and the last one being in 2005. I also caught a few Nitros and a WCW house show. I actually enjoyed the house show better than Nitro. I went to Summerslam in 2003 and seeing an Elimination Chamber was pretty sweet.
Last live show I went to was an ECW house show in 2006. That was great because it was in a little building and it had a much different atmosphere. I'll be going to Raw out here in January, so that will be awesome. It's been a long time.
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
John Cena. I stopped watching wrestling in '06/'07-ish and when I started tuning in regularly again earlier this year, he is doing the same damn thing he was doing back then. Really?
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
Mae Young and the hand. What. The. Fuck?
15). Who is the WORST wrestler? (If other than your least favorite)
Goldberg. He was a mere novelty that got old really fast to me.
16). Who is the BEST wrestler? (If other than your favorite)
Bret Hart. Anytime I think back to when I first started watching or pop in an old tape, I'm always impressed by his matches.
17). Choose 5 adjectives to describe the qualities of a successful wrestler.
Hard working
Intelligent
Exciting
Charismatic
Marketable
18). What key factors make the difference between being bored with a match and blown away by it?
I personally need a story to be told in the ring, and it needs to make sense. I get bored if it's simply all about spots. The crowd reaction definitely counts. A hot crowd makes a match much more exciting.
19). If you had the power to start your own wrestling company, and the power to hire any five wrestlers to spearhead your roster, who would they be? (Feel free to include past wrestlers in their primes)
1. Bret Hart
2. Shawn Michaels
3. CM Punk
4. Triple H
5. Dolph Ziggler
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
If you can make the titles seem as important as they used to and tighten shit up in the storyline department, things could be a lot better. Also, give the talent more control over their characters. They shine better that way.

I seldom got that excited one way or the other about it, but I remember that something about Bret Hart losing the title to Sid on Raw made me extremely angry at the time.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
No, it was always just another tv show to me when I was little. I never understood why people got so upset or smug when they found out you watched and told you it was fake. Although their satisfaction quickly went away when I told them of course it was it was just a tv show.
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
1. TNA house show a couple months ago. I've never cared to be crammed into an arena with a whole bunch of people in seats where you probably can't see all of the action for such an outrageous price. I just prefer to watch it on tv from a comfortable seat.

Too many to choose from.

March 2002, when my parents cancelled Sky (bastards!), have to depend on the internet.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
3 to 4, I mark out sometimes.
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
When I start watching it I thought some blood were fake until I knew what blading is, I do mark out sometimes at like debuts e.g Kurt Angle's TNA debut coz I didn't expect it.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
I knew wrestling was staged when I first watched, then thanks to the internet I started to learn the nature of the business and gain knowledge. What drew me? just the drama, the athletic ability and the fact that they are passionate about their work and the fans.
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
1. Insurexxtion (sp?) 2000, I enjoy it on telly more.

1. CM Punk
2. The Undertaker
3. Kurt Angle
4. AJ Styles
5. Edge
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
Listen in what you believe in, listen to your fans/critics and listen to your wrestlers who wants you company to succeed.
1). How long have you watched wrestling? (If it's "off and on," include only the total of "on" years)
I've been watching since 1996, so 15 years.
2). What is your first memory of professional wrestling?
I have a few early memories of friends talking about it before I got into it, and playing WWF WrestleFest (or Superstars) before I was a fan.
My earliest vivid memory would be my first live show. The last MSG house show they aired, like two weeks before Mania 13. Was headlined by Vader vs Taker in a Casket Match (TV main) and Sid vs Bret in a cage (dark main).
3). Who was your first favorite wrestler?
Hogan was the first one I remember latching onto. Of course in his nWo stuff, but I was also renting videos featuring Hogan.
4). Who is your favorite wrestler now?
CM Punk. Hands down.
5). If your favorite wrestler is not currently working, who's your favorite active wrestler today?
This should be 4B.
Should have made an "All Time" one. Which I will answer here:
Who is your favorite wrestler of all time?: Austin. Though I'll admit that Punk is slowly creeping up on him.
6). What is your favorite match?
I have a lot of favorite matches. The #1 spot tends to go between one of four, depending on my mood:
Taker vs. Michaels Hell in a Cell
Taker vs. Michaels Mania 25
Mankind vs. Taker Mind Games
Cactus vs. Triple H Rumble 2000
7). What is your favorite moment in wrestling history?
God damn. Big question. So much awesome. Again, this is something that changes weekly, depending on my mood. I could list 100 things here, but I'll choose just one: Chris Benoit winning the WHC. What he did aside, in the moment, it was amazing. Being there live made it that much more emotional. One of the only times I teared up outside of a death because of wrestling.
It didn't make the PPV, but after it went off shit got emotional with guys like Eddie, Arn and Dean coming out, and of course Nancy and Daniel. Just so emotional.
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
I've been close, but I've never completely stopped. Cena caused me to lose a lot of my contemporary love for it for a time.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
I'd say 5. A lot because of being a "smart" mark and being jaded at this point. I do feel I understand the business to a point, partially because I've been watching it so long as more than a casual fan, but I would never say I understand it to the point of someone who is in it (and isn't a complete mark indie worker). Not even close. I can give my opinions, and back up those opinions, but at the end of the day, I'm just a hardcore fan.
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
There were some things that scared the shit out of me when I was younger, like Taker taking Austin to be embalmed.
I really don't know how you define "markish" in this sense so it's hard to give a decent answer. I mean, I guess when I was younger I bought some personas as who they really are and some of the angles as legit.
As for now, I obviously am much more "learned" but still have mark out moments and times when I suspend belief. I guess those are the times my mark side comes out.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
I think I knew from the start that it was just a show. Never looked at it and went "holy shit, these two guys are in a contest of fisticuffs".
My friends were watching it and that's how I got into it. And it just stuck and I fell in love with it.
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
I've been to about 15 different PPVs and probably 10 or more house shows, RAWs and SDs. Also been to a few indy shows recently.
It's definitely a different experience. It's more interactive, it's over all more fun. I get much more into live than on TV for the most part.
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
I don't know. Guess I'll just say Great Khali and anyone like him who are just absolute disasters in the ring.
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
Just go to wrestlecrap.com and take your pick.
15). Who is the WORST wrestler? (If other than your least favorite)
Again, Khali and anyone like him.
16). Who is the BEST wrestler? (If other than your favorite)
Kurt Angle. I feel that he, at least 2000-2005 or so, was the absolute complete package. Shit load of charisma, mic skills, could play heel or face well and an absolute beast in the ring.
17). Choose 5 adjectives to describe the qualities of a successful wrestler.
Mic skills, charisma, psychology (includes timing) and that intangible "it" factor. You don't really need a fifth, unless you want to throw in "relatively athletic".
18). What key factors make the difference between being bored with a match and blown away by it?
The biggest thing is having some kind of emotional investment in at least one of the characters, which means most of the time there should be a good angle/storyline that leads into it. But that's not always the case, as I can watch random matches and be very entertained. When it comes to that, the "qualities" come into play, especially charisma and psychology.
19). If you had the power to start your own wrestling company, and the power to hire any five wrestlers to spearhead your roster, who would they be? (Feel free to include past wrestlers in their primes)
Hogan
Austin
Rock
Cena
Punk
Right there are four enormous draws (assuming they're prime) and one amazing performer.
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
Make every match, segment and talent mean something and have a logical progression. Start from a major event and book backwards.

8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
I stopped watching WWE from May 2004 to March 2005 due to the awful booking and the featuring of wrestlers that had no business being on television. I came back, not because the product was any better, but because I simply missed wrestling.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
2
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
I liked Test, enough said.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
I had heard a lot about it, Shane O'mac had jumped of a tron and everyone was talking about it, I decided to check it out.
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?

13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
Hard to say, maybe Brusier Brody or any other wrestler that thinks taking cheap shots makes you tough.
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
The Alliance
15). Who is the WORST wrestler? (If other than your least favorite)
Dunno, some kid on the indy scene, killing someone in-front of 7 people.

Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart Iron Man Match
7). What is your favorite moment in wrestling history?
Undertaker vs. Mankind Hell in a Cell
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
Dunno. Just felt like I grew out of it in middle school. When I went away to college, I was bored and had a lot of free time. My buddy was playing SvR '06 and I started playing with him, remembered a lot of the names, and wanted to learn about the new guys. So I started watching again.

11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?

Went to a house show in Wildwood, NJ in 2008 and the Raw King of the Ring last December.
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
Don't really have a least favorite wrestler. There is nobody that I actually hate or think they should be gone for good. Maybe some of the joke guys that TNA has, like Crimson or Magnus something, but I don't really watch TNA.
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
TNA moving to Monday nights. Also, Jeff Hardy ruining every push for him. Especially the 30 second match with Sting.

I really don't know how you define "markish" in this sense so it's hard to give a decent answer.
I thought it was a pretty good answer. I guess I should have actually asked what type of kayfabe stuff you bought into as a mark. That's what I was going for, the Austin being embalmed type of thing.
1). How long have you watched wrestling? (If it's "off and on," include only the total of "on" years)
Barring a good 3-4 years out, I would say just about 12 years.
2). What is your first memory of professional wrestling?
I might have totally imagined this but it was Taker winning a match against some jobber, then stuffing him in a body bag after the match was over.
3). Who was your first favorite wrestler?
Undertaker
4). Who is your favorite wrestler now?
Chris Jericho
5). If your favorite wrestler is not currently working, who's your favorite active wrestler today?
CM Punk
6). What is your favorite match?
Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho @ WM 19
7). What is your favorite moment in wrestling history?
Mankind winning his first WWF Title on Raw
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
Yes just after the Chris Benoit murder/suicide case. I don't think that was what caused me to stop watching but him and Eddie no longer being there made the business empty to me. Also Jericho was gone and the quality of the product just wasn't great. There was nothing to it. ECW was the last chance but it fell apart as quickly as it was put together. TNA offered no great alternative and so I just stopped watching. Didn't even decide to, just did.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
I'll say 6
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't jumping all over the place when Punk faced Cena at MITB. Just little things like that when the guy I'm certain won't win does (Daniel Bryan at MITB/Benoit at WM 20)
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
If I started watching in 96 then it would be about late 99/mid 2000 when I understood what the business was about.
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
2 or 3 live events in Scotland when the WWE have come over as well as a little independent event where Jake the Snake was the special guest star.
At the events, it's easy to get drawn into the whole thing and it's almost part of the night to get some kind of interaction with the wrestlers. Heels are easier to dislike and faces are easier to cheer.
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
I might get some heat for this but Samoa Joe. Never liked anything about him - his storytelling is garbage, he no sells and just obviously takes himself far too seriously.
Honourable mentions to the Miz and Abyss.
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
The Finger Poke of Doom instantly comes to mind. The recent Sting/Hogan debacle is another. As far as worst moment as a direct result of wrestling then it would have to be Owen's death but as far as the entertainment side of it, then I would have to go with the Finger Poke of Doom.
15). Who is the WORST wrestler? (If other than your least favorite)
It's hard to look past Khali or El Gigante for this one. Although I can't stand watching a lot of the athletic guys as well (for example Morrison or Styles), I'll go with El Gigante.
16). Who is the BEST wrestler? (If other than your favorite)
Shawn Michaels
17). Choose 5 adjectives to describe the qualities of a successful wrestler.
The 'It Factor'
Charisma
A Mind for the Business
Passion
A little bit of Talent
18). What key factors make the difference between being bored with a match and blown away by it?
Just something that makes it stand out as being different from the rest. Something unique which has a purpose to it.
19). If you had the power to start your own wrestling company, and the power to hire any five wrestlers to spearhead your roster, who would they be? (Feel free to include past wrestlers in their primes)
CM Punk
Undertaker
Shawn Michaels
Chris Jericho
Edge
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
Wrestling isn't a complicated business. Give the talent room to become who they will become. Also you both have commentary teams that make me want to change channel! And Dixie - Fire Vince Russo! And Vince - Make tag team wrestling relevant again!

18/19 years.
2). What is your first memory of professional wrestling?

Chris Benoit.

7. I know it's scripted, but I still get excited.

Always cheered the good guy, hated the bad guy. Thought wrestling was real.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
I started when I was five, and thought it was real. Sadly, I thought it was real up until I was 12.
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
A few Raw and Smackdown tapings when they came to the UK, and various house shows (including some WCW ones). Shit loads of small indy shows though. The main difference with live and TV is the atmosphere, the adrenaline rush of the music hitting etc.
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
Hulk Hogan.

The pacing of the match and the story being told. Also crowd reaction.
19). If you had the power to start your own wrestling company, and the power to hire any five wrestlers to spearhead your roster, who would they be? (Feel free to include past wrestlers in their primes)

1). How long have you watched wrestling? (If it's "off and on," include only the total of "on" years)
As long as I can remember, probably something like 24 years.
2). What is your first memory of professional wrestling?
I remember watching some Ted DiBiase squash match. I also remember watching a Brian Pillman match in WCW where he was bleeding, and my mom said "you know that's not real blood..it's ketchup". I didn't believe her, but I was intrigued enough to look further into it.
3). Who was your first favorite wrestler?
The ULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLTIMATE WAARRRIORRRRRRR [/McMahon]
4). Who is your favorite wrestler now?
Honestly, I guess it's John Cena. He creates such interesting dynamics just by being there. There are so many moments that wouldn't have happened if it were ANYONE else.
5). If your favorite wrestler is not currently working, who's your favorite active wrestler today?
He's pretty active, I would say.
6). What is your favorite match?
This is about impossible, so I'll go with one that I don't think anyone has mentioned yet...Bret Hart's return match against Steve Austin at Summerslam. 1996, I believe?
7). What is your favorite moment in wrestling history?
Another hard one. It might be "I love you. I'm sorry" *SUPERKICK*...I actually teared up a bit there. Fantastic storytelling.
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
Only when I had to leave town for a few months at a time for work. I still read about it, though.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
About a 5. I still buy a lot of the bullshit, but I love it. Honestly, I wish I were MORE of a mark. That's what makes it so fun.
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
I kinda answered this in the question about my earliest memory.
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
Oh man, too many to count. I know I went to three Nitros, something like six RAWs, four or five Smackdowns, over twenty house shows. The only PPVs I've been to are InVasion in 2001 and Backlash in 2006. I've also been to a ton of local shows for groups like HWA and some others.
Being there live is awesome. Even stuff that comes off as shitty on TV can seem pretty awesome when you're there and the crowd is hot.
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
Mantaur (not really, but I don't really have one)
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
Mae Young and the hand. No question. Dumber than Katie Vick.
15). Who is the WORST wrestler? (If other than your least favorite)
Currently? Probably Ezekiel Jackson.
16). Who is the BEST wrestler? (If other than your favorite)
Currently? Probably <s>Ezekiel Jackson</s> Dolph Ziggler.
17). Choose 5 adjectives to describe the qualities of a successful wrestler.
Charismatic
Competent
Innovative
Logical
Confident
18). What key factors make the difference between being bored with a match and blown away by it?
I think that at any given point in a wrestling match, you can tell what's about to happen for the finish. When the performers can hide that finish from you for most of the match and then draw it all together to make sense at the right time, I like it. Does that make sense?
19). If you had the power to start your own wrestling company, and the power to hire any five wrestlers to spearhead your roster, who would they be? (Feel free to include past wrestlers in their primes)
John Cena
Randy Orton
CM Punk
Kurt Angle

I'd say roughly 22 years.

3). Who was your first favorite wrestler?
Bret Hart

Randy Orton
6). What is your favorite match?
Shawn Micheals vs The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25.

I'd be hard pressed to chose one but if had to pick I guess I would say when The Miz cashed in MITB on Randy Orton I marked out like a little bitch lol.
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
Yes I briefly got out of it while I was a senior in high school making the transition of going to college his was honestly when the product sucked big time anyway before the infamous screwjob.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
5 I suppose there are moments but for the most part I would consider myself to be a somewhat average for my age I guess.
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
Used to go nuts over finshing moves and high risk maneuvers that's about it.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
Knew it was fake the moment I started watching it a 9 years old guess I enjoyed watching it for all the bumps and the whole choreographed apsect of it intrigued me.
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
I've been to 3 televised events (2 RAWs and 1 SD) and at least 6 house shows and I find there not all that different other than getting more into the crowd mentality and getting a better appreciation of their craft although I will say it's strange not to hear any commentary while observing it heh.
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
Matt Hardy cuz I think he's a complete and utter tool.
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
There are plenty of those but i'd have to say Mae Young giving birth to a plastic hand takes the cake.
15). Who is the WORST wrestler? (If other than your least favorite)
Of those who ended up the going the furthest Scott Steiner without a doubt but a least he made me laugh even if it was unintentional.
16). Who is the BEST wrestler? (If other than your favorite)
Chris Jericho
17). Choose 5 adjectives to describe the qualities of a successful wrestler.
Desire
Skill
Charisma
Marketable
Intensity
18). What key factors make the difference between being bored with a match and blown away by it?
The pace can make it or break it if it drags for too long at too many points then I am so not gonna get into it and hope for it to end.
19). If you had the power to start your own wrestling company, and the power to hire any five wrestlers to spearhead your roster, who would they be? (Feel free to include past wrestlers in their primes)
I'd want my company to have a very international flavor so these would be my top picks from around the world:
The Rock
Chris Jericho
Kenzo Suzuki
Mistico
Steven Regal
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
To not abandon the older fans when it comes to their product they are the ones usually buying the tickets and represent a fair amount of their viewership so they should try to make it appeal more to all rather than just the kiddies mind I must admit they have improved in this regard a little bit as of late but there is still room for improvement nonetheless.

1). How long have you watched wrestling? (If it's "off and on," include only the total of "on" years)
1988-1993, then 1998-present. So... 18 years?
2). What is your first memory of professional wrestling?
Bret "The Hitman" Hart defending the Intercontinental title against Greg "The Hammer" Valentine. I'd watched stuff before, but that's my first memory.
3). Who was your first favorite wrestler?
Ultimate Warrior at first, I hated Hogan. But then I was more of a long-term fan of Bret Hart.
4). Who is your favorite wrestler now?
CM Punk.
5). If your favorite wrestler is not currently working, who's your favorite active wrestler today?
CM Punk. I consider my three "legit" favorite wrestlers ever to be Bret Hart (1989-1999), Chris Jericho (1999-2010) and CM Punk (2010-now)
6). What is your favorite match?
Hard to just pick one, and also there are so many I haven't seen (Bret-HBK WM12, Bret-Austin WM13, etc) but the following few would be right up there:
Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog, SummerSlam 1992
Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart, WrestleMania 10
Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon, WrestleMania 10
Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior, WrestleMania 6
Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage, WrestleMania 3
The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan, WrestleMania 18
Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels, WrestleMania 19
...and a fuckton more.
7). What is your favorite moment in wrestling history?
Chris Jericho winning the Undisputed WWF Title probably. There are a handful of markout moments, but that was probably the biggest I can remember.
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
Stopped in 1992 because we never had satellite TV, I used to watch it at my aunt's and I just stopped visiting as much. The last match I saw was the 1992 Royal Rumble, and I remember how pissed off everyone was at school that Flair won it.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
That's hard to say, obviously i'm not much of a mark since the internet took over my life but sometimes you just have to be a little bit of one, it's hard to enjoy wrestling otherwise.
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
I still get pissed off when my favorite wrestlers lose/get beaten down. I still scream at the TV and get all overexcited when something real good/unexpected happens.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
Of course. I gradually got smart when I started watching again, in late 1998/early 1999. I didn't really care for knowing all there was to know, I just wanted to enjoy watching.
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
Just the one, Rebellion 2002. Might be going to watch RAW this month though.
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
Hogan and Cena, simply for the repetitiveness/predictability. That's not to say I haven't enjoyed quite a bit of stuff they've done, though.
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
Katie Vick?
15). Who is the WORST wrestler? (If other than your least favorite)
The Great Khali?
16). Who is the BEST wrestler? (If other than your favorite)
CM Punk, right now.
17). Choose 5 adjectives to describe the qualities of a successful wrestler.
In-ring skills, charismatic on the mic, great look, marketability, "it" factor?
18). What key factors make the difference between being bored with a match and blown away by it?
It's gotta have meaning, and build. PPV matches with 6 days of build up I find myself not giving a shit about.
19). If you had the power to start your own wrestling company, and the power to hire any five wrestlers to spearhead your roster, who would they be? (Feel free to include past wrestlers in their primes)
CM Punk
Chris Jericho
Bret Hart
Shawn Michaels
Kurt Angle
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
Bring back Steve Blackman as the RAW GM.

Probably since 1990-1991 or when the Bushwhackers wrestled in the WWF.
2). What is your first memory of professional wrestling?
Can't remember exactly but most likely related to Hogan or Hulk-a-mania.
3). Who was your first favorite wrestler?
Hogan for singles, The Bushwackers for tag team.
4). Who is your favorite wrestler now?
Chris Jericho
5). If your favorite wrestler is not currently working, who's your favorite active wrestler today?
CM Punk
6). What is your favorite match?
Too many great matches to pick from.
7). What is your favorite moment in wrestling history?
Tie between 3 moments of Hogan vs Rock at Mania 18, Stone Cold's feud with the Rock for the IC title, and the arrival of Scott Hall in WCW.
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
Haven't stopped completely but did have periods where shows were missed such as WCW near the end of the company besides the first hour.
Did miss a bunch of Raw, Smackdown, and WWE's version of ECW either due to the channel not being available during college or usually forgot about Smackdown but read the spoilers.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
Depends on the moments but probably a 6 overall.
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
For TNA, fire the bookers and get rid of both Hogan and Bischoff.

Thanks for replying, everyone. It's been interesting to see how everyone experiences things. After looking everything over, I have some very interesting (albeit unsurprising) facts about your opinions.
(As of Oct. 31, 2011)
Most Common Favorite Wrestler: CM Punk
Most Common Favorite Wrestler (currently working): CM Punk
Most Common Best Wrestler: CM Punk
Most Desired On a Roster: CM Punk
There have been some huge names in and out of wrestling over the years. There have been a lot of great contributions to the business by some of the all-time greats. But out of this group of elite wrestlers that people say is the best, their favorite, CM Punk stands above everyone else with decisive victory. This isn't against transient competition, either. It includes the best technical wrestlers and performers, the biggest draws, and the most over wrestlers of all time.
Now, there was a thread created about booking CM Punk in the Attitude Era. It really makes me wonder. Are we starved of a good, solid roster? Is CM Punk the cream of the crop because the crop sucks this year, or is he really the greatest wrestler of all time according to TPWW? Is it a bit too early to pull the trigger on such a claim, or do these results speak for themselves?
Personally, I'm a little hesitant. I think it's safe to say that he's the best thing we have going in wrestling right now. But it is interesting to compare his success in contrast to the times. One could argue that he seems better than he is because of the current state of the product. Another could rebutt that CM Punk would have thrived more when the product was better.
Whatever the case may be, CM Punk is clearly TPWW champion.

20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
keep things interesting for all viewers
1). How long have you watched wrestling? (If it's "off and on," include only the total of "on" years)
Maybe something like 1990 - 95 and then 98 - present. So maybe 18 years? (Can't really remember when I started watching as a youngster. I had WM 6 on VHS but that could have been purchased well after the event).
2). What is your first memory of professional wrestling?
My memory is rubbish even now. I remember watching WCW Worldwide on ITV at my grandparents house with my cousin. Which, after some research, was on from 1992 onwards.
3). Who was your first favorite wrestler?
Tatanka. Then Bret.
4). Who is your favorite wrestler now?
Christian.
5). If your favorite wrestler is not currently working, who's your favorite active wrestler today?
N/A
6). What is your favorite match?
Brock v Angle WM19 is up there. Punk/Cena from MitB. Bret/Bulldog SummerSlam 92. Triple Threat at WM20.
7). What is your favorite moment in wrestling history?
Benoit winning the belt at WM20.
8). Have you ever stopped watching? If so, what made you stop? What made you start back up?
Yes. From 95 - 98 due to accessibility issues, started again when I had access to it. Then I stopped watching in the mid - late 2000s but kept up with the product through the net.
9). On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a mark are you? (10 = Little Jimmy, 1 = Vince McMahon)
5. I "know" the business to an extent but I still get excited when something involving my favourite wrestlers happens (Punk's worked shoot, Christian winning the WHC, etc)
10). Describe some of your markish tendencies from when you were younger, and/or some that still manifest from time to time.
Still get "caught" by some injury angles. Legit thought HBK was injured in the angle with Batista a few years ago. Also, Taker at this past Mania. Was convinced that Taker wouldn't go out on a stretcher unless he couldn't go out on his own power.
11). Did you start off as a mark? If so, how long didn't you know about the nature of the business? If you started watching with the knowledge that it's fixed, what drew you to it?
Was between the age of 6 - 8 so yeah. My mom put me "straight". What is it about parents? They can let you believe that a fat man in a red suit breaks in to your house once a year but they can't let you think wrestling is real?
12). How many live events have you attended? Which ones? What are some of the differences you experience when watching on television, as opposed to in the arena?
3 WWE house shows, 1 WCW house show.I was young so don't remember a whole lot. First one must have been around WM9 and was Main Evented by Luger v Perfect. Also on the card was Yokozuna v Duggan (which was covered on the local news). The last one Taker was at, remember his entrance was great.
13). Who is your least favorite wrestler, and why? (Any time period)
Probably Khali or Giant Gonzalez. No need to explain.
14). What was, in your opinion, the stupidest/worst moment in wrestling?
Stupidest - Probably Rosie v Donald because it ran so looooooooooong. At least the hand birth and Katie Vick didn't last all that long.
Worst - Benoit.
15). Who is the WORST wrestler? (If other than your least favorite)
Kelly Kelly has to be up there. Never has anybody so talentless (devoid of inring skills, mic skills, acting skills) been given such a push.
16). Who is the BEST wrestler? (If other than your favorite)
HBK. I was never a "fan" of Michaels during my "mark" days but nobody has the combination of in-ring skills, charisma, look, presence, etc that HBK does/did.
17). Choose 5 adjectives to describe the qualities of a successful wrestler.
Look
Charisma/"it" factor
Mic Skills
Athleticism/ring skills
Patience
18). What key factors make the difference between being bored with a match and blown away by it?
Psychology and pacing. Don't rush through a bunch of unrelated stuff, build the match to a logical conclusion. Also, the live audience is pretty important when you're watching at home.
19). If you had the power to start your own wrestling company, and the power to hire any five wrestlers to spearhead your roster, who would they be? (Feel free to include past wrestlers in their primes)
Punk
Angle
Rock
Austin
Hogan
20). (This is stolen from another thread) Finally, if Vince McMahon and/or Dixie Carter (or any other authority in wrestling) asked you for one minute of advice, what feedback would you deliver with the highest priority?
Make wrestling the "circus" you once claimed it was. As in "there's something for everyone". Utilise the experience/differences of guys that have travelled the world (like Danielson) and those that have a different style. Let the "high flyers" fly, let the comedians do comedy, etc. Stop "WWE-ising" everybody/thing.
Also, quit the start/stop booking. If you decide to push a guy, do it and sustain it. But don't "over push" someone (Sin Cara, Crimson for example).
