There's no excuse for this shit. Two title changes on free TV within a month span (no idea what date this is airing), all because there was some "plan" to swerve the internet.

100% sure now Hogan did what he did because he wanted to make BFG about him.

They're going to get a surprise when they realize that they can't susatin a rating without a world title change every other week.

Jesus fucking Christ this show is worse and worse every week. Somebody needs to put this lame horse out of his misery.

Gail Kim & Madison Rayne won the TNA Knockouts Tag Team belts as well, defeating Tara and Brooke Tessmacher.

Again TNA just admits WWE has better workers by giving a title to one right off the bat.

Really, if anyone should have done the heel turn, it shoulda been James Storm.

But you see, that's a swerve. It's a swerve within a swerve.

To be honest, I'm kind of having my interest piqued. I'm glad they did the heel turn right out, anyway, instead of dragging it on for months when it would become so predictable. I mean, I'm not shocked that Roode turned heel in the slightest; but if he had done it in an announced PPV match, then Storm would look foolish.

TNA is at least trying to make Roode and Storm stars, and I commend them for that. Also, with Kurt Angle guaranteed a rematch, we're likely to get a Roode vs. Storm vs. Angle bout in the future, which could be a tremendous three-way. There's good to be seen here, along with the bad.

Also, the Knockout Tag Titles should really be dissolved, in my opinion. There was a time when they were appropriate. But now it seems that every team holding it is also involved in the singles scene, and that's just messy. Have Karen Jarrett deactive the championship, but let Gail Kim and Madison Rayne carry the belts around as a reminder of how great they are.

It would benefit TNA if they cut down the number of PPVs they had a year, too, in my opinion. PPV is not something that makes a lot of money for TNA (in fact, I'm not even sure if their PPVs make money), and they might be able to get more out of their television if they use Impact to showcase some of the matches they'd usually put on PPV. You know -- instead of being a shitty WWE knock-off.

Roode goes thru 8 months of a no.1 contender tournament and loses

Storm asks for a title shot the day after and wins the title

Roode wins it a week later

Mr. Nerfect
10-26-2011, 09:34 PM
Truthfully, I do think there's a good story here:

* Roode's heel turn comes from his frustration that his partner did so quickly what he took months to work towards and blew. Roode couldn't get it done, whereas his partner could. That leads to bitterness and there's a human story of redemption there for Roode.

* Storm is going to go through a lot of emotions; because he finally reached the top and then had his best friend snatch it away. Maybe he shouldn't be surprised, but now he's got to decide what means more to him -- friendship or the World Heavyweight Title? Storm easily chooses the World Heavyweight Title and becomes sort of a lone-wolf bad-ass looking for his back.

* Angle can come back and say that he is owed a rematch, and that Storm only beat him because he was injured/was caught off-guard, etc. Not to bury Storm, but to make heelish excuses for himself. Angle could even drive the psychological wedge between the former Beer Money partners by suggesting that Roode was the guy who hurt him, and Storm took advantage of his work.

I see what TNA is trying to do here, but it's not flawless. For example: Storm was in the Bound For Glory Series and lost. So that goes to show that this isn't some "masterplan."

I was thinking the same thing earlier today. They need to figure a new way to make money aside from PPV's. It's a product nobody wants to spend money on so why not just build a TV base, that may even increase house shows if they were able air commercials and build smaller angles on them on specific house shows. Or even use them to further storylines and mention them often on TV like

"Last week in Omaha Bobby Roode cost Mr. Anderson his match against Samoa Joe which was for a shot at the number one contenders spot for the TNA title, so next month when we return to Omaha Ken Anderson has challenged both Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe in a triple threat match."

Then you could release these events on DVD or on an online service, could make some decent money with good booking. Plus if they story is good the ratings are up, and if it's consistent then then people will be more likely to buy stuff the company sells.

They should cut a deal with Verizon or some shit so that they can get onto smart phones in a cool way. Pay 5 or 6 dollars a month and get certain features like a half hour Impact, or special interviews and exclusives. Redneck's would be eating that up. Instead they make hot fries.

Roode chasing Storm, then turning on him could have been TNA's defining story leading us well into 2012.

They told it in a week.

Mr. Nerfect
10-26-2011, 09:47 PM
I dunno, loopy. I kind of agree with you, but I think that if the story was spun out for so long, then it would have lost steam. Roode's fucked his mate over, shown his true colours without too much hesitation, at all. It makes him a pretty despicable heel. TNA fans will really want to see James Storm catch Roode and kick his ass. That being said, there could still be twists and turns.

Roode could claim that it was a heat of the moment thing, and that he just wanted his moment. He could apologise to Storm and really put Storm in the position of making these hard emotional decisions. Then, when the two have another match out of "respect," Roode could royally fuck over Storm, which would pretty entertaining, to say the least.

I dunno -- I kind of like the idea of Storm being a bad-ass face chasing the man who snapped due to his own shortcomings but is still somehow on top of the world. I think it's a good story to be told. But I'm not sold yet, and TNA needs to give me more reason to watch Impact.

Emperor Smeat
10-26-2011, 09:49 PM
I'm going to assume nowhere earlier in the show it hints that Roode might have been jealous or somewhat upset that Storm got the belt because of Angle outsmarting him from a rematch clause. At least in the case of Edge and Christian, Christian finally snapped because of Edge constantly winning everything (titles, Slammy's, etc).

Also makes the whole 8 months or so of building up Roodes to be potentially the next big face gone within a week even though TNA favored Crimson until his injury.

At least Roode gets the title even if it should have occurred at BFG and does give a bigger reason for a Storm vs Roode feud to go on besides friends just wrestling each other initially.

I love the fact that Roode has the title. I LOVED him as a heel before he joined with Storm to form beer Money. Thought he played the role quite well. Do I agree with the timing, no, like many of you have said they could have dragged this on a little longer, but whatever.

It's not like the WWE doesn't drop the title every month, the only difference is, they do it on PPV.

Yeah. Part of why I never got back into TNA. Used to watch it regularly (and enjoy it). Then got so busy, I had no time to watch it anymore.

By the time I tried to watch it again, pretty much everyone who had been a face was now a heel, and everyone who was a heel was now a face.
