It didn't really speak to me right away.
And I think I was reluctant to "love" it because of the ridiculous hype surrounding it.
But holy shit. This is a really fucking good album.
Buzzkill and I were discussing it (via visitor messages), but I feel like this album deserves its own thread. Feel like it's full of a bunch of "impossibly beautiful" or "epic" tracks. Perfect soundtrack for this snowy and icey October morning.
Anyone else "digging" this album?
Here's the video/single to get started

Most of the tracks are blocked by EMI on Youtube. Stupid

Yeah, I think it's really good one of my favourite albums of the year. Don't know if it needed to be so long though, the second half kinda drags a bit, still a great album though.

Also, you listen to the new Atlas Sound yet?

Yeah, it is a bit self indulgent. Kinda hard to be like Ok I am going to sit down for like an hour and listen to this whole thing through.
Steve McQueen is so good though

Not yet. I should get on that actually. Gonna see if it's on zooey
Actually been kinda slacking with new music of late
I think the only albums I've gotten in the past week are Casiokids after they were all over CMJ and some old Zomby EPs as I've been on a major Zomby kick

Yes, and this bothers me because (i'm sure you're the same way), i'm still one of those people who likes to listen to entire albums.

Yeah, it's prevented me from listening to it a lot more. I need to update my iPod and just have it on in the background at work or something.

I listened to it once through and it was pretty good. Kinda disapointed, feel like there were a few tracks that were just reworked from Bedroom Databank. I guess I can't really blame Bradford, his output is RIDICULOUS. I need to listen a couple more times before I make a proper assessment. I don't think it's going to stack up to Logos, which, in retrospect, is one of my favorite albums ever.

Really love Soon My Friend, Splendor, New Map, Outro...Intro...Pretty much every song..

I think that for its length it's actually "a breeze" to listen through...Every song and interlude flows into the next, without any big lulls or overbearing climaxes.
I didn't think the 2nd half dragged at all really; it's got its own feel to it that's unique from the first

You remember this convo mate?
The File Sonic usually whizz for me, I think anyway. Always get them confused with fileserve. Either way, one is decent.
New Album Releases is where I go. Thank fuck I got M83's and Metronomy's albums. I'm content now.
Shittttttttt forgot about the new M83. I gotta get on that. I haven't had internet for weeks so I'm so behind
File Sonic sucks because each subsequent download with them is slower. But they're decent I guess.
You know I'm 100% behind you on this. Going to see him in Jan, hopefully Libby will be singing. I'm so fucking hyped for it. I think it's a great album, but like his older stuff more. But there's some fucking killers on this.
