Smackdown:
*Randy Orton defeated Cody Rhodes in an awesome Street Fight following a hanging DDT on the outside off the barricade to the floor and then an RKO inside the ring. This was a great brawl through the crowd with Rhodes’ mask being used as a weapon. Orton bagged Rhodes after.

*Ted DiBiase defeated Tyson Kidd.

*World champion Mark Henry was interviewed backstage. He began bullying Daniel Bryan, mocking his Money In The Bank briefcase, saying Bryan could never beat him. He challenged Bryan to wrestle him tonight and Bryan accepted.

*Alicia Fox pinned Natalya.

*Big Show comes out and says he’s going to knock out Mark Henry once for every week of Dmackdown where their business goes unfinished. Christian comes out and says Show had his chance and failed. He insults the South (Show is originally from Aiken, SC). Show acts like he was going to KO Christian, then promises he won’t. Instead he chokeslams him and leaves him laying.

*Sheamus comes out for his scheduled match against Christian but he’s out from the chokeslam. Wade Barrett comes out and offers to replace him and they ring the bell.

*Barrett pinned Sheamus with a roll up after Christian distracted him. Christian was outside from the chokeslam the entire bout. Sheamus tries to get Barrett after the bout but Christian spears him,

*After a break, we see Sheamus brawling backstage with Christian and Barrett until they are all separated by security.

*Backstage, Big Show tells Daniel Bryan to take special care of his briefcase, because Show will be in his corner tonight against Mark Henry.

*Sin Cara vs. the debuting Epico from WWE developmental. Hunico interferes and they double team Cara. They nailed a double team move but messed it up and did it again. That’ll be edited.

*World champion Mark Henry defeated Daniel Bryan by DQ when Big Show interfered and knocked out Henry. Bryan acts like he might cash in but is nailed by Henry and hit with the World’s Strongest Slam. Henry nailed Show with the briefcase. No cashing in.

Afterward, Teddy Long announced Show vs. Henry for Survivor Series and we end with a staredown.

Love the way they are using Barrett.

Surprised we didn't see a tag title change due to Bourne's suspension. Maybe they'll give this actual thought. I say give it to Christian/Barrett, that's a fantastic pairing right there.

I can understand Barrett not winning clean since they are trying to build up both him and Sheamus

I'd settle for Tag Team Turmoil at Survivor Series..... Rock & Sock could make a surpirse appearance.....They could be the last team in the opener and have Miz & Truth cost them the Titles..... could further the feud for their scheduled tag match later in the night.....

Fuck yea both Epico and Hunico in WWE now. Let's hope WWE doesn't turn them into the Uso's.

I wish they could book raw like smackdown. I mean Smackdown is never overly spectacular, but it's a fucking coherent god damned wrestling show.

So it appears that Hunico & Epico will be a tag team in the WWE? That is awesome, and I would suggest that they would work better as babyfaces, but I remind myself that Epico is a Colon and that Hunico can work the mat pretty well, and I think they'll have a decent heel run. They need some real face teams to feud with, though. They can't just face The Usos every week (although the matches would be fun, even if the face/heel dynamic seems backwards).

Kind of weirded out by the Daniel Bryan teasing a cash-in stuff, though. I hope the WWE isn't getting cold feet with him.

This was a great Smackdown. I love how they just opened up with the Orton/Rhodes street fight as opposed to a promo, and the match ran for almost half an hour. Good shit. Bryan looked good against Henry, too.

<font color=goldenrod>The crowd appeared to be going apeshit for Bryan when he was kicking the shit out of Henry. I loved it. Henry has looked like a beast as well so Bryan would look like a fucking star if he managed to beat him down the line. However, Bryan winning the World Heavyweight Title is still very much an "I'll believe it when I see it" moment. I can totally see Henry's dominance sticking around til Mania, Orton winning the Rumble and Bryan simply serves as a fall guy in the triple threat for Orton to get the belt off of Henry.</font>

Because he's missing ONE tool: Charisma.

And being the son of a wrestler who was all about Charisma doesn't help matters out, because inevitably, some people will compare the two.

Not such a "believe it when I see it" moment anymore. WWE has shown in the past few years that the years of "holding down" smaller guys are over and that they will push guys to the top regardless of size, such as CM Punk.

I understand your trepidation, but I do believe that the WWE has some sort of boner for Daniel Bryan's work if they had him win Money in the Bank in the first place. Survivor Series should be the turnaround point where we see a change in the booking of the dude, and his "Road to WrestleMania" begins. I hope.

Great Smackdown.

Looks like they're gonna start building up some steam with Daniel Bryan.

Interested to see where this Hunico and Epico thing goes. They could eventually go on to have some fantastic matches with AirBoom once the thing with Sin Cara dies down.

I just wonder what Hunico/Epico will do for the next month since there are fuck all face teams around, i guess they could suddenly turn the heel Sin Cara face and have the two Sin Cara's team up. Don't know though, wouldn't make sense!

Hunico is the heel Sin Cara

really like him in Epico for some reason, would prefer it if they had masks as they are crazy weird looking

so my thoughts on smackdown...i legit buy hunico as a badass...i know he hasnt done much, but something about him sells me on the fact that he is legit...and who else loved cody rhodes doing the drop down punch to orton, the same move goldust does? brotherly love!

He's done that for a while I think.

Very pleased to see Hunico/Epico. Not because I am a fan of theirs but because they could be a "proper" team (AKA not 2 guys thrown together a la Air Boom). This is what I mean by "good writing" or at least interesting.

I disliked Sin Cara for the first 2 months of his run. He was shoved down our throats and had too much of the "this is the next Rey" stigma attached to him. The imposter Cara angle made things interesting, even more so with Hunico dropping the mask.

Of course, this would all be moot if they just brought back the Cruiserweight Championship for them to fued oer. Y'know.

What happened there? The version that went to TV looked pretty botched. Did they botch it twice? Or use the "wrong" one on TV?

Londoner
11-06-2011, 12:34 PM
Got to laugh when all the botches seem to revolve around Sin Cara even when he's not at fault.

Mr. Nerfect
11-06-2011, 07:40 PM
"Evil" Sin Cara was always more interesting to me than "Good" Sin Cara. His story of being a naive kid that had his identity taken away from him by lawyers and given to some new kid made for an interesting story of revenge. Plus, Hunico seems like he fits the WWE's mold for an entertainer. He can speak two languages, has got a look to him (not size, but he kinda looks like a serial killer), and he's a damn good worker.

Epico and Primo are basically the same age, but are two amazing talents, in my opinion. Primo is probably one of the most underused guys today, in my opinion. Not complaining about it, since the company seems to value him and he seems to enjoy himself; but I think that Primo has got all the tools to be a star.

I would not mind seeing Epico & Hunico target Primo next (a cousin rivalry, perhaps?) with Sin Cara making the save leading to a tag team match between Los Aviadores and Sin Cara/Primo. Alternatively, a Freebirds-style heel faction consisting of Primo, Hunico & Epico could potentially help out all three guys. Primo & Alex Riley have also been teaming all over Europe lately. Maybe they could have Primo be the Ricky Morton of that face pairing in a feud against Hunico & Epico? Riley is super over, so he'd be able to transplant some extra heat into a rivalry between the two teams.

Epico kind of reminds me of Luigi from the Super Mario Bros. series, though. Or someone from HBO's Oz. There's something super-slimy about the way he presents himself as a heel that makes you really want to see him get his ass kicked.
