View Full Version : Will this be Lesnar's last fight?

If he loses that is...

With his ongoing illness and being smashed in his fight against Cain, do you think he will hang it up if he is to lose this fight against Overeem?

If his illness keeps up, no doubt. Otherwise, he's only lost 2 fights (and one was due to a bad ref call). He's in his mid 30s, so he's only probably got a handful of fights left anyway.

Yeah, cant see him staying around just to be a gatekeeper.

Kris P Lettus

Nope..

He is too big of a draw even coming off of a loss..

Fuck sake he is 5-2 as a professional.. That is a tremendous record for a guy fighting in the UFC.. Specially considering his fights are mostly against former and current champions..

Mir, Couture, Velequez, Carwin, adn even Herring had fought for the title and was a top HW guy in Pride..

I don't see Lesnar wanting to stick around if he loses this one. He has a lot of pride and doesn't live and breathe the sport like Liddell or Couture. Plus, like Flex said, I don't see him sticking around to be a gatekeeper.

Frugal lifestyle or not, I can't see him walking away from potentially millions of dollars over a loss to an elite striker..

Doesn't matter cause I see Lesnar using his wrestling to get a win..

Lesnar will beat overroids, no doubt.

Skip to 3:00 mins to skip over most of the WWE talk..

"I will be the UFC HW Champion of the World once again.."

Doesn't sound like a guy ready to quit to me..

Typical Saints fan. All you need to hear is a bunch of bullshit tough talk and the next thing you know, you think your guy is going to win the HW Championship again and your team is going back to the Superbowl. Watch the Falcons/Saints game. It's going to be a preview of the ass whooping Overeem puts on Lesnar.

Look at this thread though.. It's the most activity we've had in this forum in weeks and there has been two events and a new Ultimate Fighter in the past week and a half.. Lesnar=ratings and he'll have to walk away from ALOT of money if he was to leave..

LOL

Overroids passes out from exhaustion and gasses very very fast. Overroids can't wrestle worth a damn. Brock lost to Cain cause Cain is lightning fast on his feet, has great stand up and can wrestle. Overroids has power in his punches, but he ain't got any ground game.

At his woest, it will be a repeat of Lesnar/Carwin.

Overeem isn't in Lesnar's league, no matter how much you hype him.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will finally be making his return to Mixed Martial Arts, many had speculated that his life threatening illness, Diverticulitis, could mark as the end of his career. That was not the case, and now Lesnar is 100% healthy and ready to go after what he says was lying to himself for two years.

"For two years I had to lie to myself and lie to all of my fans. I had to get out of bed every morning and say 'you feel good today', and i didn't. I had the surgery, its out of my life, and I'm back." Lesnar stated "That's a damn good feeling for me and its bad for everyone else"

Lesnar will be taking on the K-1 kickboxing, DREAM, and Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 in what many speculate will be a title eliminator. Lesnar says he is hungrier than ever as he looks to make a statement in his return to the Octagon.

"I'm approaching this fight hungrier than I've ever been." he said. "The things that I accomplished with the sickness that I had is very remarkable and nobody will know that except for me and the people I surrounded myself (with)"

"I think now that I'm a healthy Brock Lesnar again, its bad for a lot of people."

UFC 141: Lesnar Vs. Overeem will be taking place on December 30th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. For Lesnar this will be his climb back to the UFC title. For Overeem, who turned down the title fight, this will be his UFC debut as he looks to prove he belongs among the best

I'll be honest, the only time I have ever heard diverticulosis refered to as "life-threatening" is in regards to Brock Lesnar. What is really wrong with the guy.

He's too tough, stubborn, hick to go see a doctor when something feels wrong ... until it is almost too late.

Maybe more career threatening

Yeah I don't know how much life threatening I have heard. If so probably an over exaggeration but def career ending.

Sepholio

ROFL diverticulitis being life threatening is a joke. Hell it is a joke to consider it career ending. For all intents and purposes it is just a way to say you have trouble swallowing food entirely and you have acid indigestion alot. I have several family members with it and it has never stopped them from doing anything, mind you they don't fight for a living, but still. Unless Lesnar has some weird unheard of variation of the illness, then it is just a cry baby excuse.

El Capitano Gatisto
11-14-2011, 04:18 PM
Not quite, diverticulitis is when food/faeces gets trapped in your gut in little abnormal sacs of intestine (which are known as diverticulae) and becomes inflamed, probably got it from eating a diet of pure protein and the associated constipation. I wouldn't be surprised if most MMA guys (people obsessively guzzling protein) have it. It can get pretty serious on occasion if the bowel becomes badly infected and/or perforates, but it's still minor for the most part. Just weird that that is what kept him out for so long, I'd read all sorts of other speculation about his health and this is something relatively routine, not really ever described as life-threatening.

Funky Fly

Well, apparently, Lesnar's diet consisted almost entirely of the game he hunted for years.

He also ate Frank Mir's soul.

I think that gave him the trouble.

Guess it is his last fight, he looked terrible and can't take a good shot to the body. He's better off not fighting.

He's retiring for health reasons, so I imagine he'll live peacefully in the woods with his family, maybe dropping in for a couple of WWE appearances in the future.

Next Big Thing

It's pro wrestling though. I don't think the fans of WWE are going to hold Brock losing in an actual combat sport against him when he debuts. Have him pop up in the Rumble or something to fuck shit up and he'll be all right.

NoJabbaNoBogRoll
12-31-2011, 11:02 AM
It would be incredibly easy for WWE to package Brock as a huge threat. Former UFC champion, who has just overcome a life-threatening illness, back at full strength for the first time... HERE COMES THE PAIN.

This is assuming he wants to wrestle, and is physically able, which are both doubts.
