It's on the backburner for me, too much other stuff out. Plus it's been getting less good reviews than the last two, so that's making me hold off for now.

I've got it, took me awhile to get into the flow of it because of stress with uni.
But it's still amazing

Yup. Game is great so far, but the tower defense mini-game/running back & forth to defend and capture is the one major gripe I hate about it.
Stupid awareness box. :foc:

the Desmond's Journey stuff might be the worst thing to happen in the history of videogames and also my gastro intestinal system

I'm enjoying it at the moment, at least until Saints Row the Third appears on my doormat tomorrow.
I have some reservations about the tower defence mini-games and the long loading times. Other than that and the usual teething period of getting used to the many, many controls and free-running system, it's great.
There's so much variation in the game too. Whether you want to explore, do the story, collect the hidden items and work through Desmond's Journey - the time flies once the game starts. For the first five hours I've been having fun with the hook blade; tripping up civilians and watching as they tumble over each other into a big gay pile.

Also, does anyone know if the tower defence is compulsory, and if there is a time limit on getting to the Den before it is lost? I simply can't be bothered some times.

nah I've had 4 dens being attacked for like 5 days now and they're still just getting attacked

I guess more like two days, but still the same principle

Dens get attacked, but by the time you get there, Templars occupy it and you fight through them to get to the door then you gotta play the mini-game just to keep control. But you can stop the madness.
Level up your soldiers to max and assign them to dens. Then you gotta go on a master assassin quest. Once you complete that, that den will never be attacked again.

The more I've played, the more I'm getting annoyed by this game.
The loading screens are awful and too frequent. I dislike the size of the map - lots of unnecessary ground just to fill space, plus navigating across the city from mission to mission is tiresome. I'm reverted to using the tunnels as often as I can and guess what? More loading screens!
I guess I'm just nitpicking really. Once I get used to the controls I imagine it'll fall into place. I guess playing this so shortly after Arkham City was a bit too much of a change considering how fluid and easy it is to navigate the city with Batman.

Just finished this. Awesome game. Loved the Desmond sequences as well as the Altair ones. The last sequence was insane and the ending was very intense. Can't wait for AC3 next year

I just finished this myself. I don't know what James Diesel is thinking, but this game is by far the worst in the series.

Maybe I'm thinking that I'm not trying to compare the game to the others in the series and actually looking at it as a stand-alone. Yea, so maybe it's not as long as Brotherhood or AC2. Maybe the Desmond sequences are...well who am I kidding, I loved the concept of the Desmond sequences. But most importantly, I was looking at this one as what ties Brotherhood over to AC3. And in my mind, it did that just well.

Does this one have as many escort or trail missions as Brotherhood did?

Finished the whole game on Sunday, and never want to play it again. Without being melodramatic, the game has put me off the franchise all together. I hated the Assassin's Missions from Brotherhood and they unfortunately brought them back, and I hated the Tower Defence too. The only improvement of the game was the inclusion of the hook blade.
The story seemed very weak also. Each chapter felt way too easy and short and, considering that there were only 9 of them, I felt short changed. Don't even get me started on the last chapter.

The escort and trail missions are usually just sidequests, there's a few in the story sequences but not an overbearing amount. I agreed on the Tower defense but there's only like 8 times you have to do it, if you manage it well. The assassin's missions aren't really that bothersome unless you're going for absolutely everything in which case you just need to train 6 people completely. (First one is taken care of for you)

The other thing I don't understand is exactly how the story in this edition was meant to be a 'Revelation'. Nothing new was revealed, other than that...
...'those who came before' attempted several times to save the world from ending, but were unsuccessful, and the research from their attempts is located underground in east coast America

It's just about making the tie between Altair, Ezio, and Desmond. We already knew that they were tied, but we didn't know how except for knowing that Desmond is related.

I enjoyed the game well enough, not nearly as much as the others and fuck the Tower Defense stuff, but I liked it.

I dunno, I dont follow the "LINK" that well. I think that Brotherhood and Revelations could have been one story with alot of crap cut out.
