John Morrison Jumping Ship To TNA
By Ryan Clark on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011 at 1:47 PM EST
Partial Source: Pwinsider
John Morrison is finishing up with WWE and his final date will be next Monday’s RAW Supershow.
Word going around is that TNA is very interested in bringing in Morrison and Melina as a couple. TNA is looking at making Morrison the star attraction of the X Division. There are early plans to have him feud with Austin Aries. No word yet if Morrison has spoke with TNA, directly or in-directly.
It’s said that Morrison wants out of WWE and the company wants him gone also.
If Morrison goes to TNA, he would have to use a different ring name as WWE owns the rights to the “John Morrison” name/gimmick.
-----
Another classic case of TNA pushing a WWE star above their own (or ROH's).
If he debut's in TNA it will be cool for a week or two and then TNA drop the ball. If I were TNA I wouldn't sign Melina as she seems to be a drama queen who creates problems.
I definitely like the idea of a Rob Van Dam versus John Morrison match. I think it would have the potential to be awesome stuff. There would be some interesting, and exciting matches against some of the other X Division stars that might be worth watching.
WHUD you guys think of this possibility?

Since Morrison's contract is expiring or has expired, does that mean he doesn't have to wait 90 days before showing up in TNA?

“Someone told me this week that Rob Van Dam is seriously considering a return to WWE."

If a contract is expired, you don't have to wait 90 days. That's only when you're released. That's what Christian did back in 2005.
Bad move for him, IMO.
WWE at least gave a shit about him, in TNA he'll just be X Divison flavour of the month

I don't really care if I see him again..... he'll be buried in the X-Division in TNA anyways.....

Few points.
A) What is he going to be called? I vote for Joni Hendrix.
B) "Word going around is that TNA is very interested in bringing in Morrison and Melina as a couple."
Right, because that worked so well in WWE and didn't cause any problems. At all. Whatsoever.
C) O GOOD HE IZ GOING TO B IN TNA WERE HE WIL B USED PROPRLY HE WUZ BURRIED IN TEH WWE TEHY WIL MAK HIM A BIG STARR IN TEH TNA AND VINZ MCMANN IS GAY

I read this as "The reason Melina hasn't debuted in TNA is because TNA actually has no interest in her, John Morrison has been pushing them as a package deal or no deal at all. Morrison, who finishes his run with WWE this monday, thinks he could be an asset to TNA who would likely book him as a star in the X Division"

If John Hennigan is a free agent, TNA should absolutely snatch him up. I'd truthfully like to see Hennigan and Angle work together. Those matches could be amazing. Hennigan would have tremendous matches with half the roster, and that makes him a signing worth having, in my opinion. That being said, if I were him, I'd stay with the WWE. Re-sign, get your shit together, win the WWE Title.

I hope he decides to stay, I like JoMo. However, if he does go to TNA, no doubt he'll have some fantastic matches with a lot of guys there, but sadly he will just be another 'ex-WWE flavour of the month' kinda guy.
Really can't stand Melina though. Was never really a fan of hers to begin with anyway, but all this drama and bullshit since her release makes her unbearable to me now. Really hope JoMo gets his shit together. He has the potential to be a HUGE star in pro wrestling, and it's not like he'll have a problem finding another girlfriend is it?

I think that JoMo would look good in TNA (make him a big fish in a small pond) and he could have come great matches against some other great atheletes. I also feel that this could be a bad thing because TNA already has too many guys on the roster. After the whole "rebuilding of the X Division" all we is Kash, Austin wrestling against Jesse and Kendrick. They never really show the other 3 guys they hired

The problem is, athletically Morrison is unremarkable in TNA. He's now a big fish in a small pond in terms of name, but in terms of ability, it's now the opposite.

Bad idea to sign Melina if they want Morrison considering all the problems she was supposedly causing which ended up hurting Morrison in the end.
No guarantees she won't start doing the same once TNA starts to focus a lot more on the other Knockouts after her initial push which is a stronger division than the Divas in the WWE.

I think this is good for him. Go work your Shit out in TNA, and comeback. He is capable of so much more, but for some godforsaken reason can't get over his girlfriends ego. Let him put on fantastic matches with the guys down there and try to find his groove with his Mic skills. Worse comes to worse, he doesn't develop beyond a certain point and I can just continue not steadily watching TNA to avoid him.

Christian is the only other guy that left the WWE on his terms and was young and a "star". This is not the case of a has been getting canned and going to TNA.
Dont try to compare people like Trevor Murdoch getting FIRED to Christian leaving.
BIG difference.
They still WANT JoMo. This is going to allow him to go be a big fish in a small pond, hones his skills and character and come back JUST like Christian.

yeah thats true if he don't bad mouth wwe while he is there and impact wrestling can make him big he can go back to wwe big time. i would add rvd to your list though the only reason wwe does not want him is there pg thing.
On a related note, there is also some speculation that John Morrison may return in the next few months if he and WWE work out a deal. Others believe Morrison will take some time off from wrestling. Like Jericho, the argument is there that Morrison wouldn't want to miss out on the big WrestleMania 28 payday.

For R Truth and Christian it took a while to work their way up the ladder when they came back to WWE. Not saying it won't happen with Morrison, but there does seem to be this negative stigma from Being associated wita TNA that can hamper careers a bit.

My only question is this: If this 100% comes to pass, what would TNA do with that one British guy... you know, the one who's supposed to be the iMPACT Wrestling imitation of JoMo??
I'm obviously out of the loop, but... I don't even know if the guy is still employed there for this to be relevant... but would they try to make a half-assed MNM? Would they feud John vs the guy for the right to wear a fur coat and sunglasses down to the ring?
Just wondering.

I had to go to TNA's website to even find out who you were talking about. Apparently his name is Mark Haskins, and I've never heard of him.
Same goes for this dude Anthony Nese they have on there. I watch Impact every week and I don't think I've ever seen these two guys.
As for your question I'd say they would either repackage Haskins or just straight cut him.
Mr. Nerfect
12-07-2011, 04:12 AM
Haskins could be a great fit for the X-Division still. TNA actually beats the WWE in the UK, which makes me wonder why they don't do more with Doug Williams & Magnus, as well. Last I knew they were teaming again -- why not let them have a solid run as TNA World Tag Team Champions, while Haskins challenges Austin Aries for the X-Division Title?
Have Hennigan come in and beat Robbie E. for the Television Title.

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/dl_49o0WgbA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Honestly, Morrison seems like a really cool guy. It sounds like he's got his head screwed on straight and like he wants to keep going in the business. Taking some time off to heal and better yourself is not a bad idea, and Morrison's smart for getting out rather than letting his star completely fizzle and his potential to make money dim too much. He also waited until his contract actually expired, and didn't spit the dummy like many guys have in the past.
Plus, he calls his fans "JoMoSapiens." I really fucking love this dude, and I hope he gets another chance to make it in the WWE.

I doubt this to be true, but John Lauranitus wishing him luck on Raw made me think this could be another WWE work.
Morrison has been pretty outspoken (in kayfabe) about how unhappy he was with JoLa's role as GM, and with him being released and Johnny Ace still taking shots at him, this could be another angle where Morrison will come back somewhere down the line. A chance for him to take a little time off, and maybe kick start a decent push which will hopefully go somewhere this time.
Seems unlikely, but then CM Punk threatened to leave earlier this year and it had the whole internet community guessing and trying to theorize whether it was legit or not. The WWE writers seem to have had their heads screwed on properly this year, and have come up with more than enough stories to keep everyone guessing. It really wouldn't surprise me if this was just another angle.
