Wtf, just seen that news headline, i can pretty much say that the jackhammer goldberg was doing in the wwe lacked the impact of the wcw variation, i dont see how he was being wreckless with it, i can;t remember one time in wwe where the opponent landed akwardly or was slammed to the mat with a lot of force. :-\
The spear on the otehr hand...well goldbergs version IS the spear and no other version compares, ida thought that would have been complained about more.
Here's what happened:
(Vince is riding in a limo when his cell phone rings.)
Vince (into cell): Hello?
Triple H (whining, on other side of cell): Viiiiince! Goldberg Jackhammered me at the show in Washington last night and my back hurts!
Vince: Oh my god! Did you call a doctor?!
Triple H: Yeah, and he said it was just bruising. JUST BRUISING, Vince!!
Vince: Yes, I understand the situation. Goldberg will never use the Jackhammer again. How's that, Hunter?
Triple H: Thanks, Pops.

I could actually see that as being the reason

He might have gotten carried away once or twice, but that's it. And Rhyno>Goldberg as far as the Spear goes.

Rhyno doesn't use a spear...He uses the GORE!
Goldberg's Spear > Rhyno's Gore
Rhyno just sort of runs into people while Goldberg, a former football star, lifts people off their feet and drives them into the mat.

Well, Goldberg's only got two moves...not counting punching and growling...It's reasonable to think that he'd be better with his spear...I mean, Rhyno wastes his time witha MOVESET. Pffft.
Goldberg doesn't even really do a football spear...Least not how I was taught to go at someone. Then again, my limited time in football didn't involve many things in the pros...Money, performance enhancing drugs, or having to get carried off the field in a stretcher due to a cramp in my toe. So maybe I'm just not experienced enough.

True, it's been a long time since we've seen Rhyno snap people onto their neck, and through tables with it. I'm begging to doubt I'll ever have a Goregasm again. :'(

Gore through a table is super sick.
But back tothe topic...who cares? This all stems froim Bill Goldberg's online chat a few weeks ago where he said he would never return to the WWE because of the way he was used and insinuated some of it had to do with Triple H's influence over Vince. As far as I'm concerned, whatever it took to get that slobbering mound of no-sells off my TV is f*cking gravy.

Choclate-Caramel Fudge for me. I personally don't like it when wrestlers that use Goldberg's style get upset aout thigs. Every man and his dog could be pushed as monsters that no sell and squash other guys. It's real acting in the gimmick that I like. See Kane and The Big Show. There are two monsters that are believeable. Big Show is a 500lbs man that could probably kill anyone in that ring, yet he's got that certain tick of humanity in him. And Kane just looks psychotic. I'd believe him if he was in horror flick.

Goldberg is just any normal wrestler who happens to be 280 pounds. And unfortunately, that makes him look intimidating and big... (though Batista is much bigger than him)
Well, i guess it would just take 1 minute for a 3 year old baby to remember Goldberg's moveset...
And lastly, do i have to mention that Goldberg's spear is no difference from a tackle in professional football? Heck, even Edge's spear looks better.

When was the last time Goldberg speared someone through the titantron??? Yeah....
Anywho, Goldberg was a football player, but by no means was he a star...

I'd have to disagree with your Edge comment. Edge's spear is the worst looking spear EVER. To top it off, why would a lanky little man use a spear?

It's funny, since Goldbirg was spoonfed a main event status, he decimated like half the locker room, and he's complaining because one guy was more dominant than him.
Not that I'm a fan of HHH's politics or anything, but it's not like he was being Sean O'Haired or anything.

everyone was doing it. There were like 50 wrestlers using the spear as a signature move.
I'd love to see him go to use it on someone big and get stopped dead in his tracks. :D
I like Edge, but...

didn't he have to spear Big Show like 4 times to knock him over in late 2002?
I don't really remember thinking Goldberg's offense look sloppy in WWE.

Growling? Is that what he was doing? All this time I thought he was always trying to hack up a long forgotten hairball made completely of the hair from Ted Turner's asscrack... :shifty:

Edge's Spear sort of looks like it's trying to break the ribs of an opponent. Goldberg's looks like he's tackling them, while Rhyno's is the sickest Spear I've ever seen.

Its sad how someone half Goldberg and Rhyno's size uses the Spear, and really looks bad at it, although the crowd seems to love it

Edges spear looks weak as hell. Goldbergs was fairly impressive I suppose, but I agree with everyone else that Rhynos gore owns them all.
As far as the Jackhammer being wreckless, I don't know man, he used to ****ing slam the shit out of some of the guys in WCW with it, I have no doubt that it was painful. Plus yeah, Goldberg can't wrestle, he's a stiff mother****er.

I really haven't seen the crowd into Edge's spear. then again, I haven't paid attention, but he doesn't seem to get loud cheers

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember any time when someone was injured or shaken up pretty badly after taking a Jackhammer. I mean, yeah, the impact of it looks and sounds sick but Jesus, it's a 6'7", 280 lbs. man slamming you into the mat from a good distance off the ground. You're expecting it to be pretty? And wasn't Rhyno just getting a lot of compliments on how sick and cool his Gore looks? Same thing. Both are impressive maneuvers excluding the rest of their respective ringwork.

It's possible to execute a sick looking move without being sloppy. It's possible to be sloppy without killing people all the time.
When the sum total of Goldberg's ringwork is based around about 3 moves, it becomes a little more apparent.Rhyno's not master of 10,000 holds, but he's still got quite an edge on Goldberg.
Well, except for in terms of wins and losses...Goldberg was an unstoppable machine...Which should coun for something. :shifty:

Like it or not...
Goldberg's spear is the best and it actually looks pretty good. Although, I'm surprized that he has not killed someone with it. His spear on Christian was the greatest ever.
Rhyno's spear is just not what it used to be. Probally because he takes his oppnents health into consideration. Unlike Goldberg...
Edge, I laugh every time he uses it.
Bubba's spear thing he has been doing recently looks stiff as f'n hell.

Christ, get over it. It's been 4 years since that happened. I'm the biggest Bret Hart fan in the world but you can't blame Goldberg forever for what happened. It's pro wrestling. Sometime people get hurt.
It could be worse, at least Goldberg didn't break his leg trying to kick somebody from the top turnbuckle.
Then again, has Goldberg ever gone on the ropes period?
At least he never snapped his leg in half while running across the ring and then screamed like a bitch cried his eyes out on live TV.
One thought. Who took Bret Hart out with his sloppy wrestling? 'nuff said.
Right, well, by your thinking, we should all thank the lord above that Owen Hart died because he broke Stone Cold's neck, which led to his eventual demise.
While we're at it, why don't we start an Anti-RVD campaign? The guy bruised Triple H's windpipe at Survivor Series '02, putting him in the hopital overnight. RVD, that lousy bastard, doesn't deserve our cheers!
In other words, to reiterate what Rob said, let it rest man. It's a physical business, and in a physical business, injuries happen.
Kane Knight

Because retiring someone is the same as bruising a windpipe, causing an overnight hospitalisation. But why stop there? Why not make your analogy all the more powerful by bringing up the welts Flair causes with his brutal chops?
