View Full Version : Survivor Series Series

As many of us are aware, TNA has been known to copy many aspects of WWE.... So I was thinking, WWE should do their own take of the recent "Bound For Glory" Series, only do it better and have it actually make sense.....

So after Summerslam next year, the Survivor Series Series (or whatever you want to call it) is announced and that 11 of the top contenders will enter in a Round Robin Tournament, with a points scheme similar to the BFG Series. Over the next 3 months on Raw, Smackdown and pay-per-views, these 11 contenders would wrestle each other in a one-on-one match twice over the duration of the Series. On the first Raw of November, the winner would be decalred and get a WWE/World Heavyweight Championship Match with the stipulation of their choosing at Survivor Series, and the remaining 10 competitors competing in a classic "Survivor Series Elimination" Match, with the winner(s) receiving a Title match, only for it to be under the stipulation of the champions chooisng......

So theoretically, a Smackdown Superstar could win the Series, and a Raw Superstar could win the Elimiantion Match, sparking two separate feuds on the two brands leading into TLC & Royal Rumble, not to mention any off-shoot minor feuds between other Series competitors......

Good/Bad idea? Your thoughts?

WWE should never steal an idea from TNA. Ever.

Going by the idea itself, it would not be possible for the current writing team to keep up such a long concept without it getting ridiculous and dropping off. In a perfect world, it could work, but not in the WWE Universe.

I think I'd get really bored if almost every match on every show for three months was part of a points based tournament on an Entertainment Program with scripted winners.

I'm not sure about the round robin tournament, but I do think something should be on the line if they're going to do elimination matches at Survivor Series, like the survivors getting a title shot at TLC or the Royal Rumble.

I don't really mind the idea, but as Xero said, it'd just get too confusing for the writers. TNA couldn't keep their shit together with it, and the whole thing turned into a booking mess. There are other ideas that I would enjoy seeing more of, anyway:

* The FCW 15 concept lifted from WWE's developmental territory to the main rosters.

* Best of 7 with Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler.

* King of the Ring.

I think they should award points November-January to establish Royal Rumble entrance position. Wanna be #40, gotta get the most points.

Rather have the King of the Ring be expanded a bit to last a couple of weeks than a points system lasting for months. Instead of just 8 wrestlers, maybe 16 for a brand or 32 wrestlers total from both brand combined (Raw side and Smackdown side of the brackets).

The idea was pretty good by TNA because it guaranteed a good amount of wrestlers tv time but the sudden changes in direction and rules killed the idea. The worst was essentially wasting all those weeks building up Crimson only for him to be removed from the race 1-2 weeks before it ended.

I like this idea better than my own.....

I'd love an annual tournament, and I love King of The Ring, I'd say make it a 32 man tournament after MITB culminating at Summerslam for a title shot at Night of Champions.

Bad idea in my opinion, no point copying TNA, I'll still go for my FA Cup style tournament for a future title shot.

Can you explain the FA Cup in wrestling terms? Give me an example bracket WWE could use.

Basically a regular knockout tournament. Except each round is randomly drawn rather than a set bracket.
