View Full Version : Any reason why Vader was jobbed out so much at the end of his WWE run?

I remember it being really bad. Like every week I would be like "how do they expect me to buy Vader losing to this clown?".

I've heard two rumors that WWE was trying to force him to lose weight and that he supposedly doesn't wash his ring gear.

Both of those are retarded. When WWE wants someone to lose weight, they usually take them off TV, and I doubt Vader would rather become a joke, than wash some clothes.

Mainly due to weight issues, I think the Shawn Michaels/Vader Summerslam 96 match ruined him as a main eventer. I heard about the not washing his gear thing as a reason.

shawn michaels didn't like him. Shawn's mouth was Vince's cockhole at the time.

I dont know about Vader being "a big teddy bear". I heard that about him but if he was an emotional guy, he wouldnt have been as stiff as guys said he was in the ring.
As for the question I think he was just getting old and his time had past. This was that point in the WWE when you turned 40 and weren't insanely over, you were jobbed out.
Vader is a badass with a heart of gold.

I miss Vader! I remember seeing what happened in that vid in 98' and it made me sad to hear him say that. I know he's vastly tougher than what WWE is making him out to be, especially considering he fought across the whole damn planet, had the match in 90' All Japan vs. New Japan where his eye had popped out of his socket and his nose broke but kept fighting through the match, and the bloody deathmatch feud with Mick Foley in WCW 93' to 94' (the same that took Foley's ear). WWE has a good reputation for making the best wrestlers in history turn to shit and making nobodies who "can't" wrestle look like their badder than anybody else.

Have you read Mick FOleys book?
He cried after mick lost his ear.
He cried when he broke that jobbers back.
Its a fact. He is one of the stiffest and most bad ass workers of all time. But the dude is a genuinely nice and caring guy outside the ring.
Omigod, I broke your spine by needlessly powerbombing you into the mat with as much force as my 500lb frame could muster! I'M SO SORRY!!!
Reckless bastard.

Vader's son's poetry touched him so much that he didn't care if Frankie didn't want to follow in his dad's footsteps. He has a heart of gold and is a great and loving father.

So you're saying that Cory didn't really make it to the Spectrum for Vader's match and Topanga's sweet sixteen party at the same time?

Ice Cream Bar (http://www.tpww.net/forums/member.php?u=17093) That was a TV Show called Boy Meets World. I don't think that was really Vaders son. Are you trolling?
I'm glad that you had to send me a VM to show me the error of my ways.

Vader was a complete badass in Japan/WCW
WWE took a badass heel and killed him
He should've destroyed the competition

To be fair he was initially pushed as a monster. He came in, squashed a ton of jobbers, then destroyed Yokozuna, who was the Biggest guy in the WWE and a former champ. He then got a run at Shawn Michaels, but the politics ruined that. Then he got lost in the Shuffle.

I thought Vader's feud with Undertaker was not bad.

*IMHO*
With Vader not being totally over with the WWE crowd he was pretty much used to put other people over. He was still a monster, but ya gotta consider that guys like The Big Show, Mark Henry, Kane, and The Great Khali were all jobbed to hell at one point. They were monsters that were still booked as monster, just monsters that lost matches as the play by play and color guys were hyping them up as unstopable.

Yes, I've read Mick's book but just because you feel sorry about screwing up somebody for life doesnt make you a good person. What their teaching me is that the most importaint thing in pro wrestling is to protect yourself and the person your in the ring with first and foremost. I've read countless stories about Vader unnessisarily breaking guy's noses with full punches, hitting guys soo hard they get concussions, when he didnt have to be that stiff because it wasnt that style of pro wrestling. I might be mistaken, but didnt he break another guys neck by chokeslamming him? The guy jumped up like he was suppose to and Vader threw him down soo hard the guy landed on the back of his neck not his upper back and broke his neck (or was that just an angle they did?).

Yep, that pretty much is the answer.
