Are there any better all-round wrestlers/entertainers on TV right now?

I THINK NOT, but feel free to discuss.

No idea on Aries, but at the moment I find Ziggler to be just as good as Punk.

If anyone mentions Dull Rio or Snorton, I will not be responsible for my actions.

Haven't seen Aries in TNA, but he was wonderful in ROH.

Ziggler is becoming something amazing for me. Really is. He's dev'd his character, does some pretty smart moves in the ring, knows how to play the crowd and has these little things that just make him stand out (handstands included!)

There are times when I just have to >>FWD>> the talking bits on RAW, but Miz, Punk and Ziggler reduce those times so much more now. Good stuff.

I see Rhodes coming into this discussion soon, if not now. His matches are top notch and his promos are good and getting better ever week. I think that ziggler and Rhodes as a tag team would be the most credible team they could make. This would require dropping swagger and diminishing vickies presence, or dropping her too

Why would you take two of the most credible singles wrestlers developing as mainstream heels and soon to be main eventers and put them together in a tag team. Let alone the MERE FACT that both of these gentleman are the Intercontinental and United States Champions. Why would you take credibility away from both the wrestlers and the titles by having them focused into a tag team.

Tag Team wrestling is meant for when creative needs filler material for TV time to develop/showcase upcoming talent or for when they have no direction/storyline for a wrestler in singles competition at the time. Rhodes and Ziggler pursuing after Air Boom would just be a step backwards in my opinion. Granted Ziggler has been teaming with Jack Swagger but that's a negative in my opinion.

Honestly WWE needs to squash or revamp entirely the tag team division in the company completely here and now. The title don't get defended that often, and when they do its a mix of teams that aren't together for the long haul. There are teams like the Usos who aren't even being utilized in the Tag Team Division. Instead they are delegated to appearing on WWE.com programming like NXT which is a program not even following its intended fucking format anymore.

Honestly they need to bring in another singles title such as a Television Title or other type of Midcard championship to give the undercard guys something to focus on.

But putting Ziggler or Rhodes in tag team mix makes no sense to me and makes the character and their respective titles they hold lose any and all credibility down the road for me. Ziggler has wrestled two hot matches late this year against two main eventers in CM Punk and Orton and his performances were over the top. Rhodes has had a great series of matches with Orton and his promos are simply awesome at the moment. Both of these guys should be in line for a main event run in 2012 and if WWE doesn't capitialize on it, they are dropping the ball.

They were rebuilding the tag division, and doing a decent job, until Bournes suspension. I assume they'll continue the rebuilding once he's back (should be soon shouldn't it?).

no idea about aries, but punk and ziggler are the best things going on raw right now

im waiting for ziggler to drop the us title to ryder, then start a fued with punk, they could build on their match on raw from a couple wks ago, which i think was the best match on raw of 2011

How is putting two fantastic superstars together and horrible idea? I agree with all of what you said, except for saying that them together is a waste. They could be what Aweomse Truth should've been. Two superstars that are on the rise and feel like the only they are going to get their world titles is to force the WWE to give it to them. It would be a talented nexus. They would put on awesome matches and anytime they look weak the other would pull some under handed stunt and save it.

If and when hey get their shot you have a million ways to go. 1 wins and the other is jealous so we get a Rhodes ziggler feud, or.neither wins and they continue to chase their brands respective champion, or they both win and we see a team of badass world champions dominating both shows, or they both win and as stated before dominate both shows until they begin to argue over who is the best and we get a feud leading to an undisputed championship match featuring Rhodes and ziggler. Puts younger talent in the spotlight and we get to watch epic matches.....win win

I guess the term tag team shouldn't be used here really. It would be more of a 2 person that occasionally wrestled as a team, but mainly together to support each others title run

I am more impressed with Dolph Ziggler than from what I have seen of Austin Aries. Granted, I haven't seen much of Austin Aries. Only his previous TNA run as Austin Starr. Which I did enjoy greatly.

Like I said in the 2012 Dream Matches thread, Ziggler vs. Aries is my dream match at the moment.

How Austin Aries manages to be so effortlessly entertaining in TNA is baffling. I thought they would have ruined the guy by now. I hope that the dude is using it as a platform to audition for the WWE in time. Austin Aries jumping "up north" would make me very happy. Yeah, he's "small." But so are CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan, etc.

Looking on his Wikipedia page, I read that Aries provided the voice for Jacob Cass in WWE '12, and that he was apparently a main character for the Road to WrestleMania story mode that also featured Sheamus and Triple H. That's a pretty good sign, right?

Punk and Ziggler are also the goods, by the way. As I've said, my dream feud for 2012 is for Ziggler to somehow steal the World Heavyweight Championship prematurely from Daniel Bryan, and for those two to have a headlining feud over on the blue brand. I also think Punk could be money in 2012. After Cena is done with him, I'd have Punk beat The Rock at Extreme Rules or something.

Punk is 6'2", Ziggler is 6'0", Bryan is 5'10". Austin is 5'9". Rey is 5'6", but they book him like a 7 footer. Now whether or not that is Austin's real size or they stretched him out, IDK. But, that's pretty short. Hornswoggle would come up to his shoulders (almost).

Who gives a fuck? Bruce Lee was like 5'7. Chuck Norris is like 5'8. Austin Aries' persona is larger than life.

I personally think that the two that evrybody thought would be the "throwaways" of their tag teams, Cody Rhodes and The Miz are two of my favorite wrestlers in the WWE right no. Miz's progression both in ring and promo wise has been amazing. Same with Cody, he went from dashing, to emo, now he's vicious and I think he's on the right track to greatness

Side note, I was watching ROH for alittle while and Rodrick Strong was pretty entertaining. He was the brash cocky young heel with a manager, a smoking hott female valet who could actually wrestle and a buff bodyguard (well, big by ROH standards so he'd look like a midget in the WWE)

Roderick Strong is really finding his stride in ROH, to be honest. I've always known that he has had a personality; he just chooses to emphasise other areas.

I remember marking out for Strong here:

Aries is running the X-division in TNA,but only because they fired their entire roster of established x division talent, and brought in unknown jobbers. So maybe...maybe not.

Did anyone see that X Division on Impact between Zima Ion and Anthony Nese? They both impressed the hell out of me, I dont care for the "pretty" Ion gimmick but that Nese had a good combination of heavy kicks, slams and aerial moves.
