Let's build a company on the first letter of our name (MTV, WWE) and then drop the first letter and the concept. Then let's put out nothing but reruns and watered down content for the droning masses to watch while we jam adverts in their face so they consume some more.

Supreme. I would like to see a pro wrestling shoe that elevated the industry to an artistic level. But I think update have to break kayfabe and build storeies around the lives of the wrestlers. The ring action would be done just like it is. But you'd not see all the match unless you were there or bought a seperate DVD. The backstage part would be acted but not like most, instead kayfabe wouldn't be a question real life scripted events would be. It'd be like pro wrestling's the office but not strictly comedy

This reminded me of when ESPN used to do "dream" NFL games where they'd take, say, the 70's Steelers and the 80's 49ers and take stock footage of the 70's Steelers playing a game against the 49ers and the 80's 49ers playing a game against the Steelers and simulate a game between the two teams. It was bizarre and I'm not sure if/how they could do that with wrestling but... it would be neat.

What stump the Schwab was for ESPN except the Fink as the expert. Probably call it Out Think the Fink like the online trivia game.

Or a trivia game where 3 question in a row gets you a pin and the most pins in a round gives you the round victory with 2 out of 3 rounds wins the game.

Great idea, really.

"There's one show on this entire network that runs 24/7/52 (presumably) that I don't think I'll like so I'm not gonna watch the entire network".

Seems like sound logic.

Might as well give up on watching TV at all really. Or consuming any media. Including this website.

WWE should get Chuck E Cheese as a sponsor and start holding matches at random Chuck E. Cheeses.

A "Divas in the Ball Pit" match could do huge numbers. Especially if Lawler screams out "puppies!" dressed as Chuck E. Cheese.

That'd be incredible if all of the legends had to get "real jobs" while they stayed in the house.

-Hacksaw could work at Home Depot.
-Snuka would be doing part time at a produce or farmers market.
-Roddy quite obviously would sell hot rods.
-Dusty as a plumber

Help me out here...

Ugh, still can't believe that WWE is getting their own network. Legit sad for the wrestlers who'll get future endeavored to free up payroll for this project.

I could see WWE do a Fan Axess Network (FAN) that focuses more on just WWE. If they made it like Spike TV without bluntly saying "Yes, this is a network for guys" and focused took the bulk of the focus off of WWE (not the bulk of the programing) then I could see their network work out... But as a WWE network, I'm sure within 5 years it'll rank right up there with the XFL.

What would you rather them fill 720 hours a month with? It focused on about 10 different things one of in which was reality TV, what about the other 90% being offered?

How can a show of wrestling legends living together not be awesome? Hell, the stories alone would be worth it.

All I know is this latest Vince McMahon project better not fail. He hasn't had much success with the WBF, the XFL, and people occassionally poke good, light-hearted fun at him for it...but if he fails at THIS, it won't be good.

I'm going to ignore the fact that I think this will fail unless it's heavily revamped and re-brander pre-launch and post a few ideas that I shall pull out of my ass.

Title Trivia Game
Each player is playing for a small lump sum of money and a replica title. They can have one show per title, and of course recycle to show ideas. Maybe even do one with a custom title.

A How It's Made Style Show
A look at the importance of a segment of the show, like the turnbuckles, the ring, title belts, etc. This is just going to be filler during down time. Hire John Ratzenberger to voice the show.

PPV Hype Show
Hype up the next PPV. It's just promos, matches from the prior year's ppvs, some uninteresting/revisionist history, etc etc.

The Roadies
This is a reality tv concept I've been toying with myself. "The Guts behind Glam". This show won't focus on any superstar or television personality. It's just simply a show about the roadies who are doing all the grunt work for WWE.
Various spin offs can include tech work, catering, and anything else behind the scenes.

30 Days to Forgiveness
If I need to explain what this reality show is going to follow, just wait for someone to get suspended.

Today (or this week) In Twitter
.....yea, next time I pull something out of my ass I'm going to clean it off before I show it off.

lol I looked at the video, it's actually Miz.

At first, I thought it looked like Edge getting attacked from behind by Mark Henry, but I've just looked at it more attentively and I guess it could be The Miz.

But anyway, it's been changed.

Someone else is behind the door now.

So if they plan to show PPV's and live TV...how will their deals with USA Network, and PPV Providers work out? It will certainly effect the ratings the USA Network gets on a Monday Night if everybody is watching the WWE Network Channel.

Xero
12-14-2011, 11:39 AM
My guess is that they'd only move the B-PPVs over to the network and use them as sort of Clash of the Champions. That's not until their main contract with US PPV providers are done, though, I'm sure. I'd guess the Rumble, Elimination Chamber, Mania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series stay on PPV (probably at a hiked up price) while the others move to the network as Clash of the Champions-style shows. Which will help tremendously. Also they'll probably put Superstars and NXT on as first run shows.

As for RAW and SD, I seriously doubt they'll move them to the network as first run unless Vince gets cocky and starts demanding ridiculous prices. In which case WWE would be fucked, because the non-Network shows are shit ton more important than the network right now.

I could see a documentary show on Lita's travels with her band.

It would be sweet to see a doc show on select indie stars trying to get into FCW and show clips of the indie matches. It could be good for buisness.

Also they should show FCW late nights like ECW.

Jordan

They should probably get Hogan back for a reality show as well. Hed be great in a very scaled back guest commentator type spot. Or on their analysis show.

Jordan

Fuck it, they should just show ECW late nights as well. I fear I will never watch anything but WWE network, this isn't gonna be great for my social skills.

I also want WCW/NWA at 6:05 eastern on Saturday evenings.

Xero
12-14-2011, 12:27 PM
I do hope they air shows in their regular timeslots (outside of Nitro, obviously) and do it on a weekly basis.

Like start with Nitro on Tuesday (or right after or before RAW), SmackDown! followed by Thunder on Thursday, WCW Saturday Night on Saturady followed by ECW.

As for FCW, nah, FCW should stay as a local show only because they need to be able to tweak gimmicks and whatnot. It would be cool, but I just don't see it working out. Especially when you consider that in FCW, guys get A LOT more freedom than they'd ever get on the main roster, and it would show the WWE's weaknesses in that aspect.
