Does anyone else here miss the days when all the wrestlers had a gimmick that worked and had a name that suited their gimmick, or when tag teams were main eventing? When new heroes like Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart were being made? How about the days when Randy Savage was at his peak, Bobby Heenan was the color commentator, Gene Okerlund was the best backstage interviewer, and heel managers were at a plenty?
Of course, I realize some of you here haven't seen any of that stuff, but if you haven't, you should.
In general the match quality of the 1980's/early 90's wasn't great, and the production value of today's product is a lot better than it was back then, but watching wrestling back in the 80's (when I was a kid) was FUN.
In fact, maybe that's the difference between then and now, for me. I still enjoy it now, but liked it a lot better during the kayfabe years. It was FUN to watch back then.
