Why are diuretics banned anyway?

Not like its performance enhancing, just helps to cut weight, so not seeing how thats so bad, especially considering the Rumble Johnson scenario.

Because it's still an artificial advantage. If he's using it and his opponent isn't, he's going to have an easier time cutting more weight.

It is particularly known as a steroid that athletes and bodybuilders use when they are attempting to maintain strength and muscle mass while cutting weight.
If that is true then that sounds like a viable reason to have it banned.

I vote to ban all exercise equipment. My "opponents" are using it and Im not, so they will have an easier time fighting me!

Diuretics can be used to flush your blood of PEDs faster.

So it can potentially be an agent used to mask the use of more sinister █████... I'd ban that too.

Matt Mitrione (of all ████ing people) made a great point: there should be more information, or a better system to check supplements/█████ against the 'banned lists'. The NFL has a hotline, how hard would it be for the commissions to outsource the same call center or software?

I'm pretty sure that particular steroid is commonly known amongst fighters as a banned supplement though. Most of the guys who get knocked for PEDs know exactly what they're taking.
