Although I probably should have stuck around after the credits to watch Nick Fury recruit John Ottway into S.H.I.E.L.D.

Ahh yes, survival film of Liam Neeson vs. Grey wolves? I'm a sucker for that.. There's another similar to that except it's called The Canyon starring that blonde chick sidekick in Chuck tv series.
Ill watch Liam Neeson fight hunger, if they make a movie about it.

I really liked it but I wasn't crazy about the ending

“New rule: from now on, all of Liam Neeson’s movies must be titled “I’m Going To Hunt You Down And Kill You.” - BILL MAHER

I would like to see a movie where Liam Neeson hunts down and kills Bill Maher
or he could just do it in real life

look it was a really well put-together film and everything. cinematically it was splendid, and i did appreciate it and all, but honestly, terrible ending. dunno. whole thing was just kind of a downer.

I just do not understand the complaints against the ending. Flat out.
Seeing a movie tommorow ( by myself ). Seeing either this or Safe House.

What was it?

About a five second shot of the wolf lying on the ground breathing heavily. I think the implication is meant to be that Ottway and the wolf killed each other
I actually sat through the credits to see the scene.
Ottway was resting his head on the stomach of the dying alpha wolf.
The other wolves didn't attack him since he killed the alpha wolf.

You guys are wrong, it was Nick Fury recruiting him into S.H.I.E.L.D.

yeah i wouldn't call that a scene. i call it a few seconds that do nothing but cement what everybody knew happened anyway. total balls. the post-credits scene made it worse, i think. was better to leave it up in the air.

I felt the same way. The last words his dad wrote to him was like this: Live AND DIE on THIS DAY.
There's on IMDB comment that really sums the ending: BOTH of them were the alpha leaders of their pack and BOTH LIVED AND DIED on the day.
