Okay, we have some jobbers up for Brodus to rape in his next match, and one day, these guys might all of a sudden have super-fan-cheer-or-jeer power and won't be so easy for Brodus to rape. Who has the best potential thus far to have a real push that gets them back on television other than Superstars?

I really can't think of anyone on the "Superstars/NXT roster" who I can see as a real good push coming. Maybe Trent Barreta or Tyson Kidd? And even with them, I feel like the ceiling is low.

Should be Johnny Curtis as well. I don't think WWE is commited to him for some reason though. He's got charisma like a motherfucker though.

Braden Walker comes in and knock on Teddy Long's door.

*knock knock*

Teddy : Go away! 'Baitin!

*crash*

Im Braden Walker and im going to knock your brains...oh teddy thats disgusting!

Teddy Long : *puts pants back on* Holla Holla! Tonight, its going to be you aaaaand tyson kid against Brodus Clay and the Big Show...Holla Holla!

Braden Walker single handedly destroys both opponents.

I think Tyler Reks might have it, then again, haven't seen very many of his matches to know well enough. Where the hell is Skip Sheffield?

I think he is injured.

He pulled a steroid.

Yeah, I think if he got any bigger, his shoulders would squish his head.

Reks has the size and is decent in the ring..... he might need a mouthpiece to be taken to the next level.....

Kidd would work really well in a tag team or as part of a stable IMO but Barreta has potential, hes only a young guy, huge mark for him ever since his match with Drew a while back where he took that bump over the top rope.

I've only heard him talk on his debut, but, like you said, maybe him not talking is what's getting him nowhere.

He's constantly taking bumps that are really risky for a guy who is floundering on Superstars and NXT. lol

Trent is pretty good, but I don't think he's main event material or ever will be. Could end up kinda like RVD was for years as a solid midcard guy though. To be honest none of the guys on superstars or nxt really seem like they belong on the main roster (although I'll admit I haven't watched nxt since the second season so...). I guess if I had to pick one I'd say Hawkins simply for the pimp cane.

You should check out the NXT thread I made to see a bit of the greatness of Johnny Curtis then.

<font color=goldenrod>I love Curt Hawkins. I really think he could be a great midcard hand. If they ever decided to give him something of substance to do on Raw down the line they've already got the tailor-made feud opportunity with Zack Ryder.

I also think Trent Barreta is the goods. If Evan Bourne winds up getting released I'd love it if Trent could be employed as the token "spot" guy.</font>

so... You don't know what your talking about. The future of WWE is on NXT with Derek Bateman, Johnny Curtis, Rekks & Hawkins whom are a great tag team and would be awesome if WWE wanted to push a new team on TV.

Even Titus O'Neil will mature into a good character, and Percy Watson is money.

Give episode 100 and 101 a watch, it's good stuff. 100 is hilarious because Cole does commentary for old times sake with Josh Matthews.

Riley for sure he's got all the right tools so he could be a main eventer but for some reason he's been held back for some reason.

I think A-Ry is one if the few guys who could get over as a babyface rather than heel. He gets big pops when he comes out and can get the crowd going when he does his work in the ring.

Those clips are old, and the first one was Miz's fault, and the last one was awesome, happy accident.

#1-norm-fan
01-31-2012, 11:23 PM
lol. This is one reason I started disliking Alex Riley. People basically designated him the next big thing before he turned on The Miz and pointed out the most ridiculous things to try to show why he was. The green as hell Riley pushes Miz' head into the top rope and it's the Miz' fault. He fucks up and eliminates himself from the Rumble prematurely and it's "awesome". lol. Come on.

He's got a decent look. Not much more. And the clips are old... you know why? Because there isn't a whole lot of new, live, Alex Riley footage to find stuff like that on. Because WWE was smart enough to demote quickly and keep him off the main shows.

He was getting over when he turned on the Miz. It was a great situation he was put into. He didn't take advantage of it and he's where he should be right now.

You put a cardboard box with Miz and have it turn on on him and it will get over. Not because the cardboard box is particularly charismatic, but because Miz is such a good heel.

The only thing the gutwrench powerbomb botch shows is how strong Swagger is. He was getting sandbagged to fuck and still hit his finish on him.

Alex Riley was great on NXT and as the Miz's protege. After his face turn, though...I dunno. Perhaps he got nervous.

Damndirty
02-04-2012, 05:35 PM
You know it's probably a thousand times easier to be a heel on television than a face, which is why most people get their first push as a heel. Riley got his push and did good with that, but I agree he probably got nervous and didn't know how to execute good mic skills or do anything outstanding in the ring. The turn against the Miz and busting his lip open was pretty cool though!
