Holy shit...

Harrison Ford May Join New Blade Runner Film (http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2012/02/harrison-ford-may-join-new-blade-runner-film.html)

Here's a clue that Ridley Scott's new Blade Runner (http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2011/08/ridley_scott_blade_runner.html) film looks like a sequel rather than a remake of the 1982 original: Harrison Ford may be coming aboard. TwitchFilm got a scoop (http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2012/02/twitchfilm.com/news/2012/02/breaking-harrison-ford-in-early-talks-for-ridley-scotts-new-blade-runner.php) over the weekend than Ford "has entered into early talks" to potentially resurrect Rick Deckard. Producer Andrew Kosove told (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/movies/2011/08/blade-runner-ridley-scott-directing-harrison-ford-star-prequel-sequel.html) the L.A. Times last August, "this is a total reinvention, and in my mind that means doing everything fresh, including casting," but perhaps things have changed and Ford has taken a shine to the idea of kicking off his seventies (projected premiere: July 13, 2012) with another Blade Runner jaunt (projected release: sometime in 2014).

Yeah, it's definitely one of those movies that doesn't need a sequel at all.

Ridley Scott is probably dying and wants to leave a legacy without other people rebooting his classic films.

Im not against another Film in that "world" of Bladerunner.

But leave Harrison out.

More peeps need to go the "Prometheus" route - More films in the same Universe/theme but not necessarily a sequel.

Well, I enjoyed Ender's Game and I also enjoyed Speaker for the Dead. If it's Harrison Ford trying to be an action star, yeah, this will suck. If it's a cold-hard science fiction movie that is intelligently written...I wouldn't mind it.

From IGN:

UPDATE, Feb. 6: Deadline chatted with Blade Runner 2 producer Andrew Kosove of Alcon Entertainment, who denied the Ford rumors. "It is absolutely patently false that there has been any discussion about Harrison Ford being in Blade Runner," said Kosove. "To be clear, what we are trying to do with ridley now is go through the painstaking process of trying to break the back of the story, figure out the direction we're going to take the movie and find a writer to work on it. The casting of the movie could not be further from our minds at this moment."

From IGN:

The Will-He-Or-Won't-He Blade Runner talk continues today, with Ridley Scott addressing the rumor from earlier this week that Harrison Ford might be returning to play Rick Deckard once again in the director's planned sequel/spin-off/whatever to his seminal 1982 sci-fi classic.

How do you say "WTF" in City Speak?

The project sounds to be in the very early stages of development. For starters, Scott tells EW that they're "still in discussions about whether it should be a prequel or sequel. It's an interesting conversation. I'm meeting with writers and I've also gone back to [original Blade Runner screenwriter] Hampton Fancher and he still speaks the speak. He's right there. I spoke with him this week. But we don't even have a script yet."

As for bringing back Ford, the helmer says he doesn't know yet, but he wouldn't rule it out either.

"I'm not sure that that's going to be a story point, so I don't know," he says. "But if it were, nothing would please me more. Honestly."

Basically, Scott makes it sound as though Blade Runner 2 is in the zygote stage right now -- or whatever the Replicant equivalent is. He says that he enjoyed returning to sci-fi so much (on his Alien-ish prequel Prometheus) that he was drawn once more to Blade Runner. Oh, and he's also "thinking about what the hell I might do for a Prometheus 2."

I wouldn't mind s sequel as long as it's not directed by Lucas or Spielberg.

This can't still be happening. Ford agreed to return as Han Solo too.

I could see this working very well with Harrison.

I'd like Scott to direct. But I'd think Alfonso Cuarón, Paul Greengrass, Sam Mendes or Joseph Kosinski could all do their own take.
