OK I'm not claiming to know or in any way be considered an accomplished pro wrestler. However, it has come to my attention that some of you would like to see certain people injured to the point of never wrestling again (namely new Jack, but lets not get to stuck on him because I can kinda see your point.
Kierkegaard described a poet as someone who basically enhaled tragedy in order to manifest beauty. And that whst those who said "sing again" really meant was; may some tragedy befall you in order that you may create new works.
That being said I believe it takes a level of crazy to want to get into this business after having spent anytime whatsoever in it. Sure you may be a normal dude who loves wrestling but once you see what the schedule of a successfully pro wrestler looks like, and the state most of them end up in, you have to realize its a 1 in amillion shot that requires so much work and creativity and social savvy its ridiculous.
Anyone who has made it in the business for a period of ten or more years is worthy of esteem and respect by anyone who calls himself a fan.
Sure these guys may be total dicks. But the truth is if it wasn't for guys willing to stick with a masochistic sport then none of us would be onnthis messageboard yelling at each other about whether Daniel Bryan has "it" or deserves anything or how bad cena is.
These people have given themselves a road of pain and rejection and compromise that never really ends. And yet we judge these amazing athletes and wish them harm?
