Well we all know this is going to be talked about so i thought i'd get in there first, apparently it looks like Vince Russo is out of TNA. Now i know theres a lot of love for him in within TPWW and you wish him luck in his future endeavours etc... :| but...
Do you guys think this could be a turning point for TNA and see the talent they do have eventually be used to push the company forward or do you think TNA is too far gone to pick up any remains and run with them?

I have my doubts, but this could be the start of TNA's turn around.

If Lagana starts booking, things could go very well for them.
Also, this isn't really a spoiler...

Good news for TNA, now Bischoff and we are grand. Dave is the goods I think, I wonder if he can get TNA's production to stop being seizure inducing.

where did this idea come from that Dave Lagana is some variety of Heyman-esque creative mind outside of him being on the WWE writing team for a bit and talking on websites/podcasts/Twitter about his opinions (which happen to fall in line with a lot of "the internet") and riding on Vince's jet? legit question, maybe I'm missing something here, don't pay much attention to him anymore

Dropping Russo couldn't HURT. But I'm not convinced they're gonna make a huge turnaround just based on that.

Good point, I think it was his blog.

It's mainly because Lagana is one of the writers who are pretty forward thinking, and more in touch with what's going on in the world.
Basically, he's not the second coming or anything, BUT he's the type to look forward, not backwards.

So long as there's no more 50+ year old world champs it'll be better... maybe... hopefully

My hopes are up for TNA. Hopefully this is the beginning of something better for them cause I really want to like TNA, but they make it so hard sometimes.

Here are some new details on the TNA creative team shake-up:
* Dave Lagana was working on helping with pre-taped segments only at the TNA PPV. It doesn’t appear as if he has been promoted or is replacing Vince Russo yet.
* Russo was not at the show and it does appear as if changes to the creative team are in the works. No official announcement on anything has been made to the wrestlers or staff.
* It appears as if the lackluster ratings for the recent iMPACT! shows in London, England may have been the final straw to cause changes.
* Eric Bischoff would have been part of the decision to get Vince Russo out of power within the TNA creative team. The feeling backstage right now is that Russo is out and that he won’t be retained in any capacity with TNA.
* Russo’s exit would likely result in Bischoff having more power. Bischoff has consistently disagreed with Russo on TNA’s booking and storylines.
* As of now, Bruce Prichard is still head of TNA’s creative team. Wherever Dave Lagana ends up, it’ll be below Prichard and Bischoff.
* At this point, it seems as if Lagana’s role won’t really be expanding. He has downplayed his role, another sign that he hasn’t been promoted.

TNA need to run this as an advertising campaign. Hell, i'm considering tuning in again to see if things improve.

I have to say, I've been disappointed with Russo's role in TNA lately. As awful as he is, he's usually "That was fucking insane" awful (Like David Arquette's title win). Now though it's just been "This is fucking boring" awful. Not sure what happened to him.

TNA: No Vince could kill us. Not McMahon or Russo
TNA: FINALLY bringing you something new
TNA: Wrestling Matters (but Russo's paycheck doesn't)

So very hard I just saw IMPACT and there's good stuff if they can just pull it together they can stop being a WCW circa 2000 parody routine.

Vince Russo out of TNA Creative? My god, one third of the unholy trinity has been destroyed. Now for Hogan and Bischoff.
This is awful news, he did a lot of good there too b/c TNA was awesome in 2010 and Jarrett & Bulky Ray are the two best heels in the whole of wrasslin.

Depends on how much more power Bischoff now gains as a result of Russo being canned. He already had a good amount of power once he arrived but hasn't created any long term positive results for TNA yet.

So........ is this like a pattern or something? Is TNA catching up by having their attitude era while WWE's having their PG Era, and then when WWE moves into some new alternate era, TNA will be in its PG Era? Either way, whoever thinks a lingering Russo is a good thing must like the feeling of taking a stinging piss after jerking off with soap in the shower.
I give him praise for the Attitude Era, but I think that's the only condolence I give to his name, but when he murdered WCW in cold blood and admitted to doing it intentionally, he should not have been allowed to help run another company. TNA may see itself reborn!

Exactly, I don't think its a drastic change that's gonna reshape the company for the better. It wasn't till reciently that I learned that Russo left WCW around August of 2000 and that's when WCW went to complete hell (Constant swerves and run ins, I don't think one main event ended cleanly from late 2000 till the end)
