I will be writing for two (2) semi-popular music blogs in the New York City area.
www.mysociallist.com (http://www.mysociallist.com/)
www.freewilliamsburg.com (http://www.freewilliamsburg.com/)
I was approached by the founder of My Social List to write for their blog because they enjoyed www.twitter.com/pimpradio (http://www.twitter.com/pimpradio) so much. Met with him over some beers the other night over on North 6th before the Veronica Falls show at Music Hall of Williamsburg and discussed the plan.
Currently they are a service which aggregates "blog content" from several blogs/sources with complex algorithms/RSS feeds, collecting information about every show in New York and presenting them in order of most "buzzed abt" shows. iPhone app will be released soon.
They do not feature any "original content" yet, but want to have a "blog" and I have been granted 100% creative control over the blog and Twitter account. They're starting to pick up... they have a decent amount of Twitter followers, pending iPhone app and they just hosted their first BLOG show at "ultra relevant DIY venue" Shea Stadium in Brooklyn, New York featuring Ava Luna and Caged Animals.
Free Williamsburg is much more popular and the dude who runs My Social List does a post once a week about the "most blogged about" shows in the city and he hates doing it so he said I could take that over for him too.
Should be pretty "legit" for me.
Will be sure to let you know when it starts so you can all czech it out.
