View Full Version : Let's speculate
With The Rock making his much anticipated return to Raw next Monday, John Cena had harsh words for "The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment," saying he's no longer The People's Champion, but he's a champion with people (referring to the entourage around him). After strongly criticizing The Rock for returning, but not sticking around WWE, Cena vowed to beat the iconic grappler in his hometown of Miami, Florida at WrestleMania XXVIII.
A number of WWE performers appeared giddy backstage over Cena's remarks as they legitimately feel that way over the actor/wrestler. One talent commented via text to PWInsider.com (with permission to be quoted under the condition of anonymity): "[The Rock] comes in to use WWE to get back the audience he lost doing Disney movies, which is fine but he's been back over a year and name one person he helped make a bigger star since then? No one.
"He's here for himself, he keeps to himself, and he keeps someone who's actually touring here all year from making a bigger payday at the bigger shows. It's all about making this the "biggest" Mania of all time. OK, then what do we do the rest of the year? Who's been made? You think he took ANY blame for Survivor [Series] not drawing? Of course not, but how do you feud with a guy on the Titantron? Cena nailed the guy dead on tonight.
"Say anything about HHH, Taker, etc. still being in the top spot but if they were needed to work the road, they would and they would still work their asses off as much as they needed to. Rock is out for Rock and the idea he's here to better anything but his own wallet is the biggest work of 2012."
So who do you think is this anonymous man? My first thought was CM Punk, but he's made these comments about The Rock before without the anonymity, so it has to be someone lower on the food chain.
Dolph maybe?

Miz, since he apparently took the heat for the low SS buyrate

I would agree it might be Miz because of what Auto just said.

Seriously though, it could have been anybody. Hawkins, Nattie, Zeke.

I dunno, I highly doubt someone like Hawkins cares about WM paydays

Think about it. Until The Rock's return last year, Santino had been in a major WrestleMania XXIV storyline with Snoop Dogg, won a huge battle royal at WrestleMania 25 featuring WWE Hall of Famers and WWE Legends. He also competed in a great Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXVII.Let's not forget that the man debuted by winning the Intercontinental Championship in his hometown.

Honestly can't work out what twisted logic arrives at blaming Miz for the shitty buyrate.
As part of his team with Truth, miz was handed his ass on more than one occasion by Cena and then Cena & Rock during the build up to the SS match. They weren't built up as credible threats to the "super team". Why would anybody buy the PPV to see the outcome of the match if it looked like such a forgone conclusion? They wouldn't.
The PPV was sold on the fact that Rock was getting into the ring for the first time in 7 years. They hoped that was enough to draw, it wasn't.
Blame the writing/booking. Blame The Rock. But you really can't blame Miz.
Shit rolls down hill, I guess.

The anonymous source is 100% dead on in what he said
Still the guy has had exactly one match since he "came back" and has had no problems doing jobs in the past - so this seems slightly premature
It wouldn't shock me if it was CM Punk, given that this is similar to what Punk has had to say in the past

Can definitely read that whole thing in my boy D. Bryan's voice.
But he's also not established enough that he can start popping off whenever he wants. 85% sure it's him.

Good point. Hes not a made man, and trashing the rock would put him in the doghouse.

Probably between the Miz, Orton, and Punk since all three have been upset with the Rock in the past. Only other I can think of is Del Rio but he dislikes the Miz a lot based on recent stuff and hasn't said anything about the Rock.
Doesn't sound like Ziggler would say that considering he held a pretty high spot since late last year while everyone on Smackdown hasn't been affected by The Rock "stealing" the spotlight.

I still think it is awesome that a match that was bumped from last year's Mania for a 30-minute Rock monologue is now the World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania.

I think it's a bunch of made up dirt sheet bullshit. If someone really did text that, they're fools. The Rock came back solely for a match with Cena, the biggest star in the company. Who else with half a brain would expect to be involved in that program or be "made" by the Rock? Never mind the fact that Rock has a history of putting guys over at the big PPVs (Lesnar, Goldberg, Helms, hell Batista and Orton at Mania). He doesn't really owe "the business" much else.
I don't get how wrestlers like Punk can kiss Austin's ass and talk about how great he is, when he essentially does the same thing Rock does, but Rock's somehow the diva. Who gets put over when he comes back? Taking stunners from Austin and getting soaked with beer at the end of a match or show definitely makes people.

they should probably bring back the Miller Light Girls
Why would it be CM Punk? He's already said the exact same thing on a live microphone on RAW. Why would he be afraid to say it elsewhere and dub himself "anonymous"? The guy has kind of proven he'll say whatever the fuck he wants.
