THE HURRICANE

He's charismatic, over with the crowd, and has a great set of moves (the shining wizard is sick). I really think he deserves better. So what do you think about him? Can he ever be taken seriously, or will he always be seen as comic relief? Please post your thoughts about The Hurricane.

I always wanted to see the Hurricane rise to a better point than he is at right now. He is comical... andhis promos with Rock were priceless. But I really doubt that with the direction they have taken him for the longest of time that he will never get past lower mid card

I think that they need to put him going after the Intercontinental title. The man is very underated right now and I think Vince needs to bring him up so he can show everyone why he was hired.

Helms could definitely carry the IC strap, even with his current gimmick, and he should at least be given a shot.

I agree...to slowly put a hold on the feud you know is gonna happen (Edge/Orton)...or after it passes... I'd like to see Hurricane in the IC title mix.

He should be on Smackdown as a cruiser and Rosey should be at Trim Spa or some shit.

Well gimmicks seem to be new again in the WWE, so maybe that wont hold him back as much as it used to. However, I still dont see them ever giving him anything close to a big push. He's in a spot that is good because he's on TV (at least on Heat), but with the gimmick he cant go any further. He has the talents, but what does that matter?

One quick solution might be to squash "The Hurricane" gimmick. Get rid of the mask and green cape, and let him be "Suga" Shane Helms. Then he'd be taken more seriously. But that's a quick solution, and might be a terrible idea. If they did that, they'd be killing a great gimmick, which remains one of my favorites.

I don't know how well it would work, but I think his best bet would be to pull a Chaz... Basically denounce the gimmick, turn on Rosie, and become hella cocky....

Or

Rosie could pull a Chaz, turn on Hurricane, and basically badmouth the entire gimmick as stupid and not going anywhere... Then Shane could come back as himself, basically do a nice promo about how he knew he may not be going places as the Hurricane, but it was entertaining to the fans, and that's why he did it... If Shane could put himself over as someone who sacrificed potential success for the sake of the fans, he might be able to drop the gimmick and move on as his own man.
