I envy him.

I don't know why anybody would pity him. Assuming the games aren't just multiple copies of sports games, he could get a buttload for all of that.

If you were a potential love interest and saw this would you stick around?

What I can't get over is the PS1 games.

Yes, but I'm less fickle than most of you homosexuals.

Though the idea that collection is worth a lot is probably crap. Most games depreciate pretty fast once a generation has passed. There are exceptions, and portable titles tend to retain their value longer, but unless those are mostly rare finds, it's probably not worth all that much comparable to collection time, effort and money.

Minch being Minch, I'm pretty sure he will find some way to completely misinterpret that and then blame me for it, but still.

Nes games and consoles can fetch a pretty decent price these days. A while back I became interested in aquiring a NES and some games, and was surprised how much they go for these days. Years ago, I remember seeing them at gamecrazy for like 50 cents a cartridge.

There has been a resurgence in retro gaming as of late, and specifically with buying old consoles. That combined with the fact that there just aren't that many around, as there used to be has made them collectors items.

I know what your saying, I wanted a SNES and Super Mario World and was shocked that it was going to cost $90.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. Obviously the current/last gen stuff isn't worth much, with exceptions of course.

I sold my collection of N64 stuff a couple years ago for 2.5 grand, and my SNES stuff went for 3 grand. I didn't have any incredibly rare stuff either, and nothing outside of my N64 still had the box with it. It's a pretty crazy market right now.

I think your attempts to speak are cute as a button. I want to pinch your cheeks and send you on your way home to mommy.

"Adorable" would fit that sentiment precisely.

That said, NES titles can fetch a good price, but the bulk of them don't. I've already cited exceptions, so if you want to point out how much the original Zelda can cost, you're already missing the point.

So yes, if they're all Zeldas or Marios or Final Fantasies, then he's sitting on a gold mine. But the few games I can make out aren't that quality. Well, with the exception of that gold cart. His XBox collection includes a lot of movie tie-in games, for example. You think that he collected gems in the eight bit era, but bought every shitty movie tie-in he could find for this and last gen?

So yeah, adorable. In the "Awww, he thinks he's people" sense.

Hard to say without knowing what those games are. They could be a bunch of shovelware in which case :nono: The majority of DS games (in existance) fall into that category anyway.

Retro games sell way higher than they our bought from consumers for. I have probably 50 games and if I turned in all of them I doubt I'd get 500 bucks cash even though they cost way more. If you had a good collection of rare Nintendo sneak and n64 games you may fetch a good price. With the number of games this Guy has however he could name his price inn eBay and get way more.

It depends because some games have risen in value but the majority of previously rare games have actually dropped once Nintendo placed the game on the Virtual Console or an HD version was added to XBLA and PSN. The consoles however have been able to stay stable or even rise in price.

I remember Orge Battle 64 and Sin & Punishment 1 for the N64 used to go in the low $100s due to rarity but once both went on the VC, the values dropped to around 1/10th of its value. Very few were willing to spend $100s when they can get a playable copy for around $10.

Super Mario Bros 1 and Super Mario Bros 3 can be found for relatively cheap regardless of condition because of there being millions of each game (SMB 3 alone has 18 million carts and millions more in digital versions).

The guy's collection looks nice but probably him just playing a game once then never touching it again with how many he has for each system alone.

Why do you try so hard? You have to know by now that the only people whose skin you get under are the mutants in the wrestling forum, and they're hardly worth the effort. Bit of a waste of time insulting someone such as myself, who is wise to your shenanigans.

Yes, you stated there are exceptions, but there are quite a lot of them. Enough where 24 stacks of nintendo cartridges could potentially be worth something.

Understand, no one is saying the guy could buy a brand new Lexus, but it is not outside the realm of possibility that he could pull in a couple thousand dollars like Minch did.

Honestly, I don't know why you chose to attack me in the first place, since I was just making a general statement that wasn't directed at you, or towards the question of whether that collection in particular is worth anything.

Clearly we don't have enough information to make any solid claim. I simply stated that based on my own experiences, there are plenty of NES games out there worth money.

Hey, wow, those factory sealed games are particularly relevant, aren't they?

Adorable.

Here's a thought. Maybe take a look around the website. Loose games on that site can range anywhere between 30 to 100 dollars. And that is just one site. As I've said, I was at one point interested in buying a NES and some games, but I decided it wasn't worth the money that these items now cost.

I trust this settles the matter, and we can both go back to making Clox feel unwelcome.

From what I can count there are 217 Xbox360 games.

At $5 a game, which is reasonable that's $1085 alone.

Why would you place the Hannah Montana game on the top of the 360 stack? That's just asking to be made fun of.

You wouldn't get 5 dollars for original Xbox games. Even some 360 games go for like 2 bucka

I had no intention of counting any of this until I read this post and now I have the urge to count everything

I see 21 in that first full stack with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 on top. There are 6 other stacks similar in size behind it. 21 X 7 is 147. Looks like there might even be an extra game on the back 2 piles. Fuck it, let's just round to 150. I see about 10 in that half-stack next to MUA2 which gives me about 160.

The games in the far back appear to be PS1 in old jewel cases and so maybe those are PS2 games behind them. And I'm not sure what's on the ground in front of me to my left, it looks like they're in normal DVD like cases. Gamecube maybe? None of the titles are really standing out to me.

But I have 160 360 games by my count. Thanks for making me do that.

Apologies for miscounting. I did so on a small cellular screen.

Why 21 though, seems stupid as he had almost 8 full stacks of 20.
