From Wrestling-Edge.com:
The latest word on the Bret Hart to WWE situation is that many backstage are expecting a deal to be reached between Bret and WWE by the end of the year.
Sources claim that Bret Hart has requested two things before agreeing to a deal with WWE. Firstly, he wants rights to his footage for home videos. He also is now interested in returning in some sort of storyline where he saves face by getting some sort of one-up over HBK or Vince McMahon, before saying goodbye (properly) to his legion of WWE fans.
Originally, Bret was completely against a storyline return, but now it seems that he might be interested in doing something to finally conclude the fallout from the 1997 Montreal Screwjob. He would still likely make his farewell speech.
Not sure how reliable that site is, but it was enough to make me go  and then .

I think a proper farewell would be HBK and Bret shanking hands in the ring. It would be f'ing awesome. Maybe because I love HBK and I don't want to have to hate Bret by default. BE FRIENDS!!! :'(

Well, it isn't anything new, Bret and Vince have been talking, and Bret is in no shape to wrestle. But man, every time I read shit like this, I just wish it would happen, and I hope it does. Can you imagine the standing ovation? It would be awesome.
I hope there is like some huge deck stacked against Benoit. Like... Say Benoit loses the title or something, right, and he wants it back. So he gets a rematch, but there's a stipulation: If Benoit loses, he has to quit the WWE. That is kind of cliche`, so instead maybe like, if he loses, he will never be able to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship again. And his opponent will have Vince in his corner. Then all the sudden in a Benoit promo, he says he'll have someone in his corner. And Hitman's music plays.
Ohhhhhhhhhh man. That's just how I'd do it. Not really realistic. But damn. I hope Bret comes back for a goodbye.

I'd love for this to happen. But the last time he made a public appearance he made it clear he hadn;t even regained all the feeling on his left side. So for now, I'll just hope Bret gets back to being 100% healthy.
Then I'll think about something like RB's scenario. Or better yet, in the middle of some huge HBK/Benoit match, Benoit locks in the Sharpshooter. Then Vince tries to interfere. But Bret comes exploding down the ramp. And then he locks in the Sharpshooter on Vince. SHARPSHOOTER EN CONCERTOOOOO!!!!
Vince taps. Shawn taps. The Pope names Owen patron saint of Nuggets. And Brian Pillman never died in the first place. :'(

LOL :'(
I love it, but it'll never happen. I'm just gonna assume this rumour is false. Just like all the others.

There's nothing agreed upon as of right now.
Vince wants him back in ANY capacity, Bret just has to show up and he can be on RAW or SD whenever he wants.
The major thing they are working on right now is a DVD,a nd they are trying to work out how certain parts of Bret's career (ie Montreal and Owen) will be portrayed. But thats not even close to being finalized yet.
Any other stuff you read about Bret coming back at this and that date is all BS.

Yeah, Bret's in no shape to wrestle. Get well. But at least they are talking. There's hope.

I just hope that if this happens, it happens on TV and not a PPV (only because I don't get PPV channels anymore :shifty: )
