View Full Version : Lord Tensai coming?
So, anyone who watched raw, did u see the vingette for a new guy Lord Tensai?
<IFRAME height=315 src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5pPQAebwMiI" frameBorder=0 width=560 allowfullscreen></IFRAME>
What do u think? I watched a few YouTube videos and apparently its Prince Albert, which is funny, cause he was a prince and now he is a lord. But I think if they try to push him as an Asian guy it would be really stupid because he looks really white. Like Batista looked kinda Asian, so some white guys can pull it off, but I cant see Prince Albert as an asian guy?
What does everyone think about King Tensai?
I think he could have a good main event program, but I think he would do better on Smackdown. What I would do is have Bryan win at mania and then the next Smackdown, Tensai walks out and says, "Bryan...your time is up." and completely destroys Bryan.
I wonder if Albert learned japanese while he was living in Japan...
Also he would maker a good team with Yoshi Tatsu imo.

He didn't learn Japanese. He just spoke loud and slow.

I'd like to see Lord Tensai & Brodus Clay be a force, or be Johnny Ace's Henchmen!

I hope Lord Tensai goes Black Rain on John Cena, decapitating him with a katana, while riding a motorcycle.

Oh come on! Let the Funkasaurus be! Can't we have ONE big man who doesn't have the stereotypical big man gimmick?

So apparently The WWE figures that if covered in enough Japanese calligraphy
A-Train/Albert will just be wiped from our collective memory
excluding younger fans of course

Reminds me of Keiji Mutoh's other main persona, Kokushi Muso, which is like Jinsei Shinzaki's Hakushi persona, but in all black.
Here's some pics to see what I mean...

It's an odd situation for this internet age for them to bring back a semi-successful midcarder from a decade ago and completely change up the gimmick ignoring his past.
If that's what they are indeed doing, it would be a little strange. I can't think of the last time they did that.

Remember when D'Lo Brown came back briefly as a big surprise opponent for someone, had a match the following week as well and then wasn't used again.

I can't wait, I hope he gets a solid push. I always loved A-Train and thought he should've main evented. The no mic skills comment is nonsense, A-Train was never given any promo time.

Yeah, I fear this will end up as,
"Lord Tensai comes in, beats up Cena/top face like a huge monster, gets squashed, dominates some mid carders, becomes jobber, is released".

My only question is why the name change? The WWE knows that many of its fan base will still remember Lord Tensai as Albert/A-Train. A-Train would be just fine.
Here’s hoping he takes the United States title off Santino Marella.

New gimmick, I think its a good idea. And it makes sense, if A-Train was in Japan, people would assume he was living there all this time and thus assimilated the culture...so why not a name change?

And rename the U.S. title the Japanese title (a la Lance Storm with renaming the U.S. title the Canadian title)

And put Tattoos on it! Oh yeah, if Albert used to pierce his opponents, Tensai can tattoo them. Brilliant!

Im surprised we haven't discussed a "world contingent" coming after WWE.
Now you got Irish, British, South America, Japan, Indian, Mexican.

I’d expect them to acknowledge A-Train or perhaps his change of name and gimmick. I can’t really think of anyone who’s quite well known and gone through such a change in gimmick, but looking exactly the same and not even getting acknowledged.

Apparently, he doesn't have tattoos: he has "bad ass tans".
Takes a real hardcore guy to selectively tan that dark. That's commitment to the bit.
Addendum: not only did Vast beat me to the post, but I quoted the wrong pic as well. Double dammit!!

I don't like a lack of continuity, so I hope they do acknowledge Lord Tensai's past in the WWE. Just say that he willingly left the WWE a couple of years ago and has spent the last seven years in Japan training so he could one day return with the best pedigree possible to claim the WWE Championship.
So yes, acknowledge that he is a former Intercontinental Champion and has gone toe-to-toe with The Undertaker at WrestleMania -- but make it part of his character.
Next week, have Tensai debut by absolutely destroying Evan Bourne (you've got to punish the guy somehow, right?), and finish him off with his old Train Wreck finishing move. The next week, have Tensai face Yoshi Tatsu, and have Yoshi seemingly aware of how dangerous this guy is. Tensai then destroys Yoshi the same way, but finishes him off with a different finisher. The next week, he does the same thing with Trent Barreta. Just keeping going until Tensai gets enough credibility by beating people with different moves to face Santino Marella, and as already suggested, take the United States Title off him.

First guy Tensai squashes is Brodus Clay. Knock off the other big guy getting a push and steal it. Tensai and Ace will be a strange pairing and I wonder if they will mention that Ace fired A-Train.

Maybe not the week he returns, but they could have him take Triple-H out so Johnny Ace becomes in charge of running not only both RAW and SmackDown, but the whole WWE. Triple-H has taken time off after WrestleMania the past two or three years, and chances are he'll need to be written off again, such as when Sheamus took him out after WrestleMania 26.
The fact he's a former Intercontinental Champion should be enough credibility to face Santino Marella, though.
yeah i dont have a good feeling about the new character. I don't understand whats wrong with him just being A-Train again. I never had a problem with him back in the day other than him being super hairy. I kept imagining how it had to rough it was for the other wrestlers. How many wrestlers eneded up getting Albert hair in the mouth?
Things that make you go....ewwww.
