Apparently Epico is upset because Primo and him were left out from the Wrestlemania card and Monday Night RAW.

Can you believe this @LaRosaMendes ? Every single WWE title was on The Wrestlemania PPV. But the WWE tag champs get the Pre-show

I thought this was WRESTLEmania…. Not CONCERTmania… Who did Flo-rida and that MGK beat??? I guess they beat the tag champs

Not only the tag champs get left out of wrestlemania… We weren’t even on Raw and it looks like we won’t be on smackdown either…

As a well wisher of Primo Colon, I am worried that such statements might eventually lead to them (Epico and Primo) dropping the belts in the upcoming future. Which may also lead to a demotion and an extended jobber role for Carlito's baby brother.

Discuss Primo Colon's spine breaking finisher and other handsome stuff about him.

Really like Epico and Primo, so I feel bad for them. This is kinda what John Cena was 'fighting for' against the Rock, and I sympathize with them. I understand 'Rock draws etc', but it's still pretty sad for guys like E&P who have to scratch and claw the whole year long, just to get pre-show to the biggest event of the year (which is still better than nothing, mind you).

On a related subject, where the fuck is Hunico?

I really doubt MGK & Flo Rida contributed anything financially positive to Wrestlemania.... I don't imagine too many people bought a $50+ PPV just because they were perfroming..... Tag Team Wrestling might have brought in a few.....

I pretty sure nobody would have bought Wrestlemania to watch Primo and Epico wrestle Hawkins and Reks.

I hope they don't edit the "Hell in a Cell" entrance music and the not so awesome performances on the Bluray like they did last year.

They're going to have to break up sooner or later so that Primo can become the #1 heel in the company and hold all the belts at once (except the tag titles because they don't count).

I agree with Supreme. If you are not good enough, you are not going to be on the year's most important card.

He should also get a sex change and win the Divas Championship.

Technically, Primo was the one who unified the World Tag Team titles and the WWE Tag Team titles.

Shut the fuck up and get over.

It's hard to do that in a division that is an afterthought, with no regular TV spot and when the fans are given no reason to care about you besides the fact that your valet is hot and dances.

They have gotten TV time and they have held the belts forever. Triple H got thrown in pig shit and he got over. I hope they bury his fucking ass for being such a whiny bitch. Handle it like a man and talk to Vince instead of tweeting.

I don't think it's about Primo and Epico being 'good enough', since they've proven time and time again that they can deliver the goods in the ring. But unfortunately celebrities are a part of Wrestlemania. Even though most of them nowadays are people nobody cares about, it all adds to the spectacle. It all comes down to which superstars will lose their spot for that 'spectacle'.

But yeah, I agree with Nicky Fives, in this case I don't think anyone really cared about MGK and Flo Rida, and overall having the tag titles defended on the actual card would have probably been better.

Also, since nobody else has mentioned it in this thread, Rosa Mendes tweeted something too, and apparently this is all a work.

Mr. Nerfect

Yeah, it's all a work. Surprised people fell for it. Just a way to get some attention onto an act that just barely missed out on the WrestleMania card.

For the record: I definitely think that Epico & Primo wrestling for ten minutes against suitable and established challengers would have been much better than the MGK/Flo Rida bits. I order WrestleMania for wrestling, but that's just me. Also, for those of you who say that tag team wrestling can't draw, I would point you to the instances in the past where it has drawn, and suggest that you need to give people a reason to fucking care about it.

Epico & Primo are the goods, by the way. Well, Primo definitely is -- I haven't quite seen enough of Epico to know if he's more than just a good in-ring talent. Primo, however, is just like his brother, only with a seemingly better attitude and with no problem paying his dues. I expect a decent mid-card run for Primo one day.

And that was my point.

Yes, HHH wrestled in pig crap and if he'd then just come out and wrestled for the next year I guarantee nobody would have cared about him. You give him DX, fueds with Owen Hart, The Rock/The Nation, etc, etc and people invest in the character.

At the minute, Primo/Epico (and all other tag guys) have no character, no fleshed out backstory, no reason to be fueding with anybody, nothing for the audience to get hooked by.

Being on TV and putting on great matches is one thing, having character and a story is another thing entirely. Look at Daniel Bryan, he's 10x more over with this character than he was as a "great wrestler".

Rammsteinmad
04-04-2012, 07:30 AM
Agreed. I said this with Bryan a couple of years ago when he was feuding with Ted DiBiase. Most guys just need an angle to get themselves over. I honestly can't remember the last, legit storyline involving a tag team. They're just always thrown together each week on TV, given ten minutes to do their thing and then quickly forgotten about.

A bit off topic, but the tag devision needs more of this:

It doesn't hep that they seem to have this mentality where they are always looking for the "Shawn Michaels" of a tag team/always looking to have the team split/fued/break off into singles.

XL
04-04-2012, 07:43 AM
And that we have 2 teams tops. One set of champs and one set of challengers. Much like the Divas Division where they try to make someone relevant for a month just for a PPV match, then they disappear (Tamina Snuka, anyone?).

Just throwing this into the discussion. I watched Wrestlemania with people who haven't seen any wrestling in years, they ordered it because of The Rock basically.

There were a few guys they didn't know that they got into pretty well - CM Punk, Ziggler and Santino especially. They also enjoyed the Flo Rida thing (and I personally thought he performed better than a lot of the rock acts they've had over the years). It seemed as though it added to the "big event feel" to them, with it showing that it wasn't JUST about wrestling and transcended pop culture. One of them also got really excited seeing Andy Garcia there.

They definitely enjoyed the little skits and musical performances more than they would have seeing a tag team match.

In their defense, they have been on TV like 4-5 times this year AT MOST, and some of that was in Squash matches against the Big Show.

They have never gotten a chance to talk on the mic on TV.

You can use HHH as an example all you want. Yeah, he was thrown in pig shit. But then he was given TV time for Promos and matches every week and he fucking earned his way up. But unlike 1997, guys dont get that kind of TV time. if HHH got their time on screen, he wouldnt have made it. No one could. How can you "get Over" when you never talk, and people dont see you every week.

There is just too many talents these days, and too many champions, and too many guys on both shows.

Primo should come out in a Stone Cold t-shirt and cut a promo on how the idea of John Cena being the best bugs him, how stupid fans should get a real job, how he's the best wrestler, how the WWE would benefit from the death of Vince McMahon and how the whole bully campaign is full of crap.

He should also come out to a rebel song.

I hope that they have some sort of a ladder match for the tag team straps at Extreme Rules.

This, actually. It could be the first step to making people care. A random Ladder Match won't help on its own, though -- it needs to be followed-up.

Also, for some reason (I honestly don't know why), Primo does have legit heat with the crowd. I give the guy a lot of cred, but I honestly do not know how he has done it. He's quite an animated performer and knows how to tell a story in the ring -- so I'll chalk it up to that, I guess.

The WWE should give Primo & Epico some promo time, though. I'm pretty sure Primo won't suck at it. I don't think he'll electrify ala Rock, or anything, but I could see him having a few good lines here or there.

They can pull off a Londrick by having them hold on to the straps for a long long time. But then again, the popularity of Londrick was limited to the internet. The casual fans did not care about them.

They got pretty nice pops, actually. They were never major players or anything, but I remember they were used quite a bit for advertising SmackDown! over here (along with Gregory Helms). Their fast-paced style was a nice little constant attraction on SmackDown!.
