Windows 7 and .zip files

I found that when I send .zip files to people using Windows 7 sometimes any folders in the .zip file go away and all the files just get put in the .zipped file.

Are the people opening the files stupid or is there something wrong with Windows 7. I've only had this problem with people using Windows 7.

Haven't seen that happen myself, how are you zipping them?

I select the folder and the .html file I am going to send to them and then right-click, sent to, compressed .zip file.
