I've been on a NWA Mid-Atlantic/Jim Crockett Promotions kick lately and that's been consuming some time for me on Youtube.
I'm looking for any non-obvious big moments in the promotion's history. I'm familiar with most of the stuff from the big events from JCP, it's the moments from "house" shows/TV tapings that I don't know about.
I've looked up Nikita Koloff's face turn, the baseball bat incident with Dusty Rhodes and the emergence of the Midnight Rider, Barry Windham's initial heel turn, and the Windham/Rhodes match from the Great American Bash where Ronnie Garvin turns heel.
Any other suggestions for significant events in JCP's history?

The very first Starrcade in 1983, the very first Clash Of The Champions in 1988, the Ric Flair-Ricky Steamboat feud from 1978, and the Midnight Express/Cornette vs. Garvins feud of 1987.
House show-wise, some of the non-televised WarGames matches throughout the summer of 1988.

Some of the big less obvious ones I would try and locate are the House of Humperdink vs Piper's Palace fued, Midnight Express vs Midnight Express, Ric Flair vs Ricky Morton, Jimmy Valiant vs Paul Jones Army, Nikita and Ivan Kolloff vs the Road Warriors.
For Obvious, Ric Flair vs Terry Funk, Nikita Kolloff vs Magnum TA best of seven US title.
I'm sure there are more I could come up with if I put my thinking cap on. I grew up with that stuff in the late 70's early 80's.

Didnt they have a big tag team tournament back in the 80s?

Yes, the Jim Crockett, Sr. Memorial Cup Tournament, which was held in 1986, 1987, and 1988.

you should watch a series of videos called Road To Greensboro which lead up to The Final Conflict cage match on March 12th 1983
it was a big feud between Ricky Steamboat/Jay Youngblood and Sgt. Slaughter/Don Kernodle
here's part 1

I've seen the videos already. That was a classic example of a heated tag team rivalry.
