Was watching some old Steiner vids and I came across Rick Steiner vs Mike Rotunda at the Chi-Town Rumble.

Anyone know what the deal is with Steiner's "brain-damaged" character? Jim Ross sights a car accident as the cause of a head injury that caused Steiner's mental problems and explains why he talks to his hand, "Alex." When/why was this dropped and was there ever an explanation given? My earliest Steiner Brothers memory is roughly a year and a half after this and I don't remember this gimmick at all. Here is the vid.

I can't recall, but I know they dropped the "Alex" gimmick soon after Scott joined Rick and started teaming up.

they speak about this angle/character and show some footage on one of the roundtables, don't remember which one though. Talk about him being in Varsity Club, changing up the character/turning face, a bit about the feud and eventually showed Scott managing/little brother accompanying him to the ring. Guessing they just evolved into a team and probably fased the "dumb guy" parts out

Is this why he wore a retard helmet in WCW

Weird seeing Scott Steiner being the sane one.

He wore wrestling head gear - because he was a collegiate wrestler and thta was part of his gimmick.

WAs this a serious post and are you a retard?
