Yeah, sounds like a work to me. Especially if Brock has the contract that was reported.

St. Jimmy

Meltzer does not think this is a work and does not think that Vince/Dana are/would work together.

St. Jimmy

Speculation currently is that because of the looseness of Brock's contract that Lesnar may do both MMA in UFC and do the dates for WWE.

Mr. Nerfect
05-27-2012, 06:15 AM
I don't think it's a work between the WWE and the UFC, but merely speculation from Alvarez. I don't think that it's anything to be really concerned about.

To have Brock show up in front of all those people to be nothing? That would be... something...

Mr. Nerfect
05-27-2012, 06:22 AM
Maybe he wanted to watch the show?

St. Jimmy
05-27-2012, 06:23 AM
Right, because Brock Lesnar - the guy who only likes to kill and eat, flew to Vegas to just watch the Main Event of a UFC event.

Mr. Nerfect
05-27-2012, 06:29 AM
Why not? Maybe he and Sable wanted to spend some time in Vegas together? Maybe he knew right well it would create a stir and keep himself into people's minds while he's off television in an active role?

Brock Doesn't leave the house unless he's killing something or getting paid. The story about him pulling Double Duty makes the most sense.

Mr. Nerfect
05-27-2012, 06:39 AM
Why do a double schedule? UFC and WWE are very different kinds of performance, and probably require different regimens. What if he received an injury in the WWE that prevented him from fighting for the UFC, or vice versa?

St. Jimmy

Money. Dana is capable of putting huge carrots in front of peoples faces.

Mr. Nerfect
05-27-2012, 06:45 AM
Why would the WWE offer Brock a contract that would allow him to compete elsewhere?

He draws people in, that's enough right there.

What I don't understand is why Brock would go back to MMA and risk losing fights, which would damage his reputation as a "monster" in WWE.

Also, why go back to MMA and fight "for real" when you can stay in WWE (which is sports entertainment) and earn a whole lot of money? He's already been UFC Champion, he proved himself. He shouldn't risk his health and well-being.

Double duty schedule? I think not. The amount of training and focus that goes into preparing for an MMA fight is tremendously time and energy consuming. I don't think Lesnar, or anyone for that matter, would want to do both at the same time. Especially considering the factors: if Lesnar got hurt in UFC, it'd effect Vince and the WWE, and vice-versa. Not only that, but Brock has had a long list of serious injuries and sicknesses over the past couple years, which is why he left the UFC in the first place. Why would he already want to come back? And don't say money because I'm willing to bet that Sable and Brock's great-great-great grandchildren are already set for life.

This is just to stir shit and raise some interest in the WWE, a product that sorely needs some interest re-injected into it. Maybe Brock did go to the UFC PPV and talk with Dana White. Maybe he wanted to go see some friends, or maybe there are other reasons for him going there (there could be a million - maybe they're working on a Rise of Brock UFC DVD or something - WHO KNOWS!).

This might just be a way of trying to spike ratings for RAW on Monday, hoping that people tune in to see if there is news on Lesnar/UFC.

That or he just wanted to see Mir get his face beat.

IT MUST MEAN SOMETHING MORE THAN HIM JUST WANTING TO WATCH THE FIGHTS.

I mean all those fights taker goes to certainly led him to a MMA career.

That or he just wanted to see Mir get his face beat.

I actually thought about that after I made that last post. Makes perfect sense. It feels like they're trying to build Frank Mir up to be the next Brock Lesnar/Chuck Liddell/Tito Ortiz guy for them. Lesnar seems like the kind of guy who would think "I fucked him up TWICE" and would want to go see him NOT get pushed to the top spot in the UFC.

I can see Mir walking backstage after getting his ass handed to him and Lesnar is standing there in the hallway smirking and shaking his head like an asshole.

Then Cain passes by and Brock cradles into the fetal position

Is it possible the two sides could reach some sort of mutual merchandising agreement? Maybe there was a meeting between White and Lesnar about using Lesnar's likeness for DVDs, video games and that sort of thing?

Well as a big fan of both pro wrestling and also MMA, i understand they are both different in their own respective leagues and the whole sports and entertaiment thing but i'd love to see Lesnar participating in both WWE and UFC. It may not be the case and possibly just a chat over other matters or simply a catch up but IF this was to happen i would be cool with it, just slightly curious as to what the situation would be as UFC fighters do become injured as a result of their sport and there is always room for injuries in the WWE so what would happen if he bacame injured whilst participating in one company and the impact therefore in the other companies contract with him.

Anyway, fingers crossed it works out and hopefully see more of Lesnar, which is never a bad thing.

If Lesnar does this it really puts a big fucking cramp in King Mo's thunder.

If it is true that he'll do both (though I highly doubt it), he wouldn't be doing it long term, maybe a couple weeks at best. When things get tough, Brock likes to bail. He may be a good fighter, but all in all he's a big baby when it doesn't go his way.

Yeah, to say the least.

It takes longer than a couple of weeks to train for a fight, and while I agree that Brocks MO makes him 'seem' chickenshit, how do we know that this isn't exactly what he wanted in the first? Could've been his plan when he was still with UFC and rumors were rampant that he wanted back in WWE.

Honestly, it seems like a cheap way for both WWE and UFC to get media attention. Brock retired, came back, and then "quit". Theonly logical place Brock would go for a job would UFC. I bet Vince and Dana made a deal, prolly something based on revenue shares and whatnot, to have Brock " stop by and chat". It keeps him in public eye, causes controversy for both sides, and puts both companies in the spotlight.

As far as the double duty, Brock couldn't handle the daily trainings of the nfl to even make the team, I highly doubt he has it in him to train for two completely different types of physical performances

Now it is being rumored that Lesnar showing up in UFC was all a ploy to advance his WWE storyline. Like, Vince told him to show up.

I'm not sure Lesnar would do that, though.

Source: The Wrestling Observer
– Brock Lesnar did meet with Dana White following the UFC 146 PPV event in Las Vegas. Word is that the meeting didn’t go over well. It is felt that if Lesnar’s UFC appearance is mentioned on RAW that the whole thing is a way of advancing his WWE storyline, where he has “left the promotion.” UFC had nothing to do with this other than Brock wanting a meeting with Dana White.
