Finally tagged on NXT and they looked amazing. Especially Kidd. Too bad he sucks on the mic, because he's wonderful. Here's the match.

They are brilliant. Mic-wise, Justin's better, but he's not exactly great on the mic either. Really wish they had managers for teams like this (and not Abraham Washington for Christs sake.)

Kidd reminds me of a less Charismatic TJ Perkins. He's a moderate worker for WWE, not sure he's better than some of the FCWNXT dudes.

He's no way better than Rollins.

Gertner

He's ten times better than Rollins. Tyler Black was a garbage champ in ROH. Worse than Xavier.

You're insane. Black was legit in Age of the Fall, and his title reign was fantastic. His matches with Roddy Strong, Hero, Danielson, Richards, Aries, and Danielson were fantastic.

And in FCW he had some really interesting matches with Sandow, Richie Steamboat, and Dean Ambrose.

Age of the Fall was probably the best internet hype package pre-Summer of Punk v2

Gertner
06-09-2012, 11:01 AM
And where did that lead them? They lost PPV and have been even worse ever since. People hated Black at the end. X Pac heat.

Gertner doesn't troll. Gertner knows all.

People hated Black because he was leaving. They were tired of all their talent being signed at that point. Everyone had gone: Daneilson, Nigel, Punk, Aries, then Black.

He wasn't a good champion. His Phoenix Splash looked horribly awkward. I don't see him succeeding anywhere near the level of Danielson, Punk or even Cesaro. Never been a Tyler Black fan. Jimmy Jacobs was 10 times more interesting, but he's built like a school crossing guard, so meh. Maybe a poor mans Brian Kendrick.

ROH title was kind of like the OVW belt at that point: You get it, then you go to WWE.

St. Jimmy
06-09-2012, 11:07 AM
If Jacobs wasn't so fucking short he would in-fact have been a multiple time WWE mid-card champion by now. I agree with you. Jacobs drug problem fucked him a bit, but I would gladly pay money to see Jacobs wrestle any day.

In the list of ROH champions, Tyler Black is probably the worst: But that really only speaks volumes of the quality of ROH World Champions.

It was until horrible champs like Richards and Strong held it. Vanilla midgets to a T. I don't mind Kevin Steen, but again, too small, although he's stocky. Kinda like Taz. But that won't fly in the WWE anymore.

I can see your beef with Davey, but what's wrong with Roddy? Roddy is a brick shithouse who can go, and he has such a cocky stride and a ton of Charisma.

Davey is probably the worst booked ROH champion of all time. Just nothing there.

Xavier, Richards, Strong were all worse. Morishima was a bit underwhelming as well. They needed a strong champ to start off their actual ppv's with, and he was pretty lost in the shuffle.

Love his Saito Suplex though.

I like Tyler Black, but anyway Tyson Kidd and Gabriel are both awesome. If I weren't super lazy I would watch NXT more

not even lazy I guess, just kind of a piece of shit about watching things I should be watching.

Tyson Kidd is great, but I can't stand Justin Gabriel.... there's something about him that just gets on my nerves and I'm probably one in a million that actually prefers Heath Slater over him..... As long as Kidd gets more TV time, I'm all for it.....

I MUCH prefers Slater over Gabriel. Slater is a fantastic heel.

Tyson Kidd is probably the best in-ring worker in WWE today. The guy is incredible. I fucking love watching every single one of his matches on NXT or Superstars. The guy is constantly pulling out new stuff, and all the stuff he repeats every weak looks so crisp and polished... it's perfect.

Really wish the guy had a bit more charisma to get himself noticed. Hopefully some day he'll get the Daniel Bryan treated and something will 'click' with him.

The guy is a phenominal worker, and along with Gabriel they work together as a team as though they've been tagging together for years.

Tried to imagine what a "school crossing guard" would look like in the wrestling world, and this is the first thing that popped into my head:

Well, don't get me wrong, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan are right up there at the top, and with Kidd that would make the top three, but at the moment Tyson Kidd is the one who's busting out something different and unique every week. I feel you are being blinded by your ROH Fan-ism.

I agree with Rammsteinmad. Kidd actually seems to be innovating on a weekly basis. Would love to see Kidd VS Byan or Kidd VS Punk. Make it happen, someone. Anyone.

Yeah Jimmy, Kidd is not just a moderate worker. He's pretty incredible. Let's get serious here. Don't be "that guy" whose a total elitist, not a good look on you.

Kidd is fucking awesome. Way more than "moderate". Crisp and innovative.

CSL
06-10-2012, 03:14 PM
yah, he's definitely better than "moderate". If he threw all variety of pacing out of his matches and added 374 stiffkickz to his "repertoire", he'd be a huge hit in ROH

Tyson Kidd should be a star. Shame he sucks on the mic.

He should be in the midcard title picture, I don't think he's that bad on the mic but the promos he's given all come across forced, give the guy a decent manager and a decent push and see what he does.

That's the only thing holding him back in my opinion. Hopefully a tag team with Gabriel, who is equally brilliant in the ring, will give them both something to do and will even give them a shot at making the main shows again.

Very few wrestlers ever really 'make it' with the whole 'non-charismatic work-machine' thing. Daniel Bryan got really lucky, and the whole 'yes' thing has really taken off and given him a character. I hope something like this falls into place with Tyson Kidd some day.

Kidd is like Ziggler to me. He does a couple of decent things and can carry people to okay matches. Ziggler however is a bump machine.

I liked Gabriel whenever I saw him. Don't think I've ever seen a Kidd match, those clips up there were pretty nice though.

Sometimes I feel like putting someone in a tag team has the opposite effect. If you keep them busy in the tag team, you have no motivation to push them further. Look at Kofi Kingston. He should have been a main eventer by now but is still stuck in the tag team division. He still has consistent work, so the writers feel no urgency to involve him in any major storylines.

Kidd is easily in the top 5 of best workers in the WWE right now hopefuly some of Gabriel's charisma rubs off on him then he could be a on the level of a CM Punk or Daniel Bryan.

Kidd needs a mouthpiece. Even if its not a direct link like Nattie or Bret Hart. Hell, i'd say pair Kidd and Ziggler, under Vickie. All Kidd needs to do to justify is one "Enough Is Enough, and Its Time For A Change" promo.

As said, it's a shame that he sucks on the mic, because Tyson Kidd is fucking dynamite. There needs to be a babyface manager to get behind Kidd. Seriously, why not have Road Dogg get behind Kidd? It might seem like an odd pairing on paper, but Road Dogg works for the WWE, is undeniably charismatic and could get some attention for the man. In fact, put Road Dogg in the corner of both Gabriel & Kidd, and have him talk about how he knows tag teams and he knows that these are the guys to carry the division further.

At SummerSlam, I'm sort of hoping for a TLC Match between some fresh tag teams, as a way of giving them that chance to grab the ball and run with it as mid-card attractions. Imagine Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel vs. The Usos vs. Epico & Primo for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

But yeah -- I'm loving this Kidd/Gabriel pairing. They work so well together, and they went into overdrive to deliver something other than your usual tag team match, while still sticking within the formula.
