I think we can all agree there are a lot of interesting people that I want to see fight in a bloody battle to the death. So round one is starting off strong:

Khal Drogo vs. Gregor Clegane

The Horse Lord vs the Mountain the Rides.

We are assuming both are in their primes, healthy and all of that.

This is tough actually, due to what we know Gregor is capable of later. It's easy for people who haven't read the books to go ahead and brush off Gregor and say that Drogo would totally destroy him, but as the rest of us know, Gregor is a tough motherfucker.

His fight with the Red Viper was intense. He doesn't go down easy. As we saw when Drogo's blood rider went up against Jorah, they apparently haven't had much experience with fully armored opponents. So while Drogo might be one of the world's finest killers, it's hard to say what he would do against a MASSIVE fully armored and skilled opponent like Gregor one on one.

I really want to say Drogo's speed and raw talent would make mince meat out of Gregor, so I'm going to go with Drogo.

Idk, he didn't have much of a problem moving around on his feet when he fought Mago. You don't get to be Kahl of a Dothraki horde if you can't handle yourself on foot.

Drogo's lack of armor would do him in. Even if it would make Gregor a bit slower. Also Gregor's lack of honor would give him an advantage allowing him to cheat to win.

Gregor proved he could fight on a horse with that joust as well.

I don't really think Drogo is concerned about honor either. Their people survive on raping and pillaging. Honor is a 'western' (or Westerosi) tradition that doesn't really hold much tradition in that part of the world.

Edit: And jousting doesn't account for anything in actual mounted combat. Gregor also -lost-, in case you forgot. ;)
