What are you guys thoughts about TNA and Montgomery Gentry's Partnership?
Will it help them reach a bigger audience? Both Velvet and James Storm have appeared in there last two videos.

Yeah sorry, I'm not a country music fan. I don't see it helping them much at all. I think KISS, the No Limit Soldiers, Limp Bizkit, etc will attest to that. Shit, not to mention all those fucking concerts Nitro use to hold....god I hated that shit.
I think that TNA hoped to get their wrestlers some exposure, but I figure most rednecks watch that shit anyway. (See TNARick/AntiTradition or whatever he's calling himself)

Sorry I forgot to mention, I do actually applaud TNA for trying to get publicity though. Can't hate on em for at least trying to get some attention paid to their stars.

I'm not a country fan either. I'm also not a huge TNA fan but i do see them steadily improving. This can only help them in my view. I dont think its the same as kiss or no limit solder's as WCW really never got anything from that. With this deal TNA stars are being the focus of a major country stars video.

I'm not a country fan in any sense, but they are a big name in the audience they are trying to tap(country ppl), mixed in with this eventual run of Cowboy James Storm as champ.

WCW attempted to get crossover appeal hoping music fans would watch [insert band/artist here], but it failed. Did the music video state who said wrestlers were? I haven't seen them so I don't know. My point would be unless it's obvious as to who they are or what TNA is, what country music fan would see it and say, "Hey! I should watch some TNA rasslin!"

Also, I agree they've made some improvements in regards to their booking (sans AJ/Dixie/drunk bitch). I also agree any little bit helps in regards to TNA as the basement is usually the bottom floor. I'd like to see continued improvement and hopefully this country music band will bring in at least a few fans.

Montgomery Gentry: A shitty Brooks and Dunn rip off where one guy disgraces Zakk Wylde's mic stand and the other guy shoots caged animals.

I think any kind of publicity is good publicity.
AS long as Hogan is no where near it, and they do refer to them as TNA superstars in some aspect in the video, I have no problem with this, and in fact, encourage it. Country music is huge, and is only growing.

They're a relatively big name within country music. Very "rednecky and proud of it!" type. I guess that's a good partnership for the kind of crowd TNA might attract.

i dont know. kiss did try, but it was with no limit and kiss. while the kiss army is kinda huge, by that point there are all older men and women and not a good demographic.
the no limit group wasn't really high up the card or doing anything great either.
this TNA move may some effect. women are all over country music now, and is more 'mainstream' than it has ever been. i think this partnership is more geared toward women and such, which could be at least a little beneficial if they can keep the knockout's division interesting. plus you don't have the actual 'group' becoming a part of the show.

Lets be honest...WWE and WcW pushed crossover with MUCH smaller artists and acts. Shit, WCW pushed the Raven/DDP Stuck Mojo video.
The WWE will push any random shit they can.
This was a nice try for TNA and cant hurt.

The songs have been pretty good I think, but the videos look kind of cheap and have no real theme to them. Like the last one was Velvet on the road and getting ready with shots of them in concert flipping back and forth. It didn't really mesh well in my opinion.

The only thing I like about the most recent video is that it seems that it may lead to a Mickie James heel turn and a feud with Velvet Sky. She's been quietly jealous ever since it was announced that Velvet would be in the video. It all makes sense too, her being "Hardcore Country" and all.

i think they should try and distance themselves as far away from country music as possible unless its a character gimmick i.e James Storm
country music isn't seen as 'cool' , the only exception to this is Johnny Cash
