Any time before this, Punk would have lost the title a LONG time ago. I can see Barrett taking it off of Sheamus heading into next year's WrestleMania though if he impresses them for a while upon his return.

And because of his "connection" with kids, and his involvement with charities (Make-A-Wish, for example), I don't think WWE will turn him heel. If they were going to do so, I think they would've already done it.
