It is basically the console standard. If you play Xbox or PS4 you can play with a WiiU Pro.

I still need to grab one. The last controller I've had for a Wii console was the first Classic Controller, felt/looked like a cheap SNES clone

WiiU pro is much more consistent with the other standards. Simple, functional.

I think so, yeah. Not sure if it varies for "For Glory" and "For Friends" (or whatever) though

you can of course set up custom rules but idk how it works with online play... maybe only locally/with friends you can do that (not with randoms)

Ohh ok, yeah have only been playing with Randos due to me not having friends.

I really like the online though. Brawl should have been that way.

Hate that 33% percent of matches get realllyyy laggggy though.

Well naturally yeah, new character novelty and all that (obviously the same with Mac early on since he's a new entrant to the series)

I always use pink sweatsuit mac, not "to be cool" or anything but he is easily identifiable in a 4 man smash.

I think almost all of the new stages suck. Every stage doesn't need to move and it feels like all of them do now.
