View Full Version : Woo Woo Woo It's Zackdown! (Smackdown spoilers)
WWE taped this week’s WWE SmackDown Monday night from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. Thanks to Scott Stevens, Nick Trombetta, Jasso21 and ProWrestling.net for live results. Below are full results:
There was a quick ring apron change after Raw went off the air and they went right into the taping for Friday’s WWE Smackdown.

Smackdown is now Zackdown. Zack Rider kicks off the show. His first thing to do as acting GM is to do the biggest fist pump. The whole crowd does it. Out comes Alberto Del Rio. Alberto threw a few weak insults at Ryder, who then announced the first match would be Del Rio vs. Sin Cara.
Alberto Del Rio defeated Sin Cara via submission.
The Big Show is backstage with Zack Ryder and tells him he “sucks” as GM. He threatened to knock him out but The Great Khali shows up and Ryder then makes a match between The Big Show and The Great Khali for later tonight. Khali fist pumps to end the segment.
Primo (w/ Epico and Rosa Mendes) defeated Darren Young (with Titus O’Neil).
Sheamus and Ryder are backstage talking and are interrupted by Chris Jericho. Sheamus calls Jericho out, but Jericho says he’s not there to fight. Ryder makes Jericho vs. Sheamus for tonight.
Christian and Santino Marella vs. Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes is up next. Ziggler and Rhodes got the win after Santino went for the cobra and Ziggler countered it with a roll-up.
The Big Show defeated The Great Khali. They slapped each other, and then Show knocked out Khali with the WMD.
Ryback basically squashed Tyler Reks. Reks got a little offense at the start. Lots of “Goldberg” chants which will likely be edited out.
Justin Gabriel vs. Damien Sandow is up next. Sandow defeated Gabriel in a “good” match. Sandow dominated for the most part.
Chris Jericho vs. Sheamus in a non-title match is up next. This match went nearly 20 minutes. Sheamus survived two Walls of Jericho attempts and Sheamus hit the Brogue Kick to win. Del Rio interfered after the match while Sheamus was celebrating. He applied an arm bar on Sheamus to end the show.
Afterward, Del Rio is in the ring talking and Sheamus comes back out. Del Rio throws Ricardo Rodriguez at Sheamus and started to rough him up. Sheamus ended up coming back and planting Del Rio with a Brogue Kick.

Needs more fist bumping :shifty:
Zackdown sounds a lot better than RAW was just in terms of matches unless all of these are also quickie matches.

I wonder how many millions of viewers Punk/Bryan lost this week. Just like ROH: no buys.

Sheamus vs. Jericho sounds like a good match, but I dunno -- not really too interested in this week's show. I think it suffers from a tragic lack of Tyson Kidd.
If the WWE were a bit more confident in telling the story, I think that Primo & Epico vs. The Prime Time Players should be taking place at Money in the Bank, giving R-Truth more time to rest up and get well. Make the YouTube pre-show Kofi Kingston vs. Hunico, which would be all kinds of dope nuts, and also add Ryback vs. Curt Hawkins & Tyler Reks to the show.
I still don't care about Ryback, by the way. I would kind of hope Hawkins & Reks would squash him in the Handicap Match setting, even though I know it would never happen. I don't know why, but I feel that the boat has sailed on Hawkins & Reks as a team. I kind of want them to be one of those teams that breaks up and feuds with each other now. Now that RAW is three hours they could fit on it. Make Hawkins the heel and Reks the renegade babyface with a score to settle. Give Hawkins a "Hawkamania is runnin' wild" gimmick. He'd be a heel and put over Reks for a few weeks on television and at house shows, but eventually the insanity of his shtick would get over and Hawkins would be reunited with Zack Ryder in time to challenge for the Tag Team Titles come WrestleMania.
Apart from that, give whatever is already on the card time. No need for Layla on this PPV. I mean, she's hot as hell, but she's not really necessary. Maybe after John Cena wins Money in the Bank, she can congratulate him, and Cena can make unfunny sexual innuendo towards her.

Watched my first WWE show in weeks (or any wrestling for that matter) and was pleasantly surprised by this show. Zach running it was what actually made me get off my butt and watch it :p
Loved his interactions with all the stars, I'd be all for him replacing Teddy Long.
is it weird that I find Khali adorable?
I'd say its weird NOT to find Khali adorable.

The Sin Cara/Del Rio match would have been a lot better if had it not been so damned sloppy on both their parts and Ryder not booking himself in a match ARE YOU SERIOUS BRO?

I do think that Zack Ryder should have placed himself in the WHC Money in the Bank Ladder Match for the show. Why not? Self-interest, bro.

Zack Ryder seems to be becoming the face of Tout, which is absolutely huge for the WWE. I assume that we might see the WWE stop resisting the Ryder Revolution. For the record, I don't think Ryder is the best thing ever, or anything. He's actually quite awkward on the mic. But he's over and he's got good ring skills that are only going to get better as he approaches his prime.
I'd still be totally on board for a feud between Ryder and Sandow. In fact, I think that could take place at SummerSlam.

Del Rio vs Sin Cara was very disappointing. Sloppy as hell. On the contrary, Sheamus vs Jericho was fantastic. I would love to see them get a good half an hour on a PPV soon. The two codebreakers made me forget for a moment that Sheamus was a champion going into a PPV and I believed that Jericho might just win. Quickly came to my senses but still, a great match that saved a bad week for WWE programming. I hate how these temporary GM's have done almost nothing these past few weeks though. Literally a couple of backstage segments and that's it. People like Foley and Ryder in charge could have been so much better.

What gave you the hint that the boat has sailed on Reks and Hawkins? Lol when they were fired from NXT?
