Like, you were actually at the arena when they played?

For me, I saw Roger Clemens pitch probably over 10 years ago on the Red Sox, that was crazy. Then I sat behind the Avalanch bench a few times when they played the Wild, so I was right up next to Sakic, Forsberg, Roy etc. and they pulled Ray Bourque early, and he looked at me. Other than that and KG, I think thats all the greats that I have seen in person.

Maybe this is worth mentioning too, remember the Vikings vs. Broncos game last year, where at the end of the first half Daunte Culpepper bombed it to moss, who caught it and lateralled it to Mo Williams for the touchtown, I was there. What is the best play you have seen live?

I don't get to many live events... I was there in the early 90s for opening day Twins, though. I remember Kirby and Hrby hit back to back first-pitch home runs and the crowd was nuts.

Been to like four or five Vikes games, nosebleed seats, and nothing special. Mostly vs the Lions (cheapest) once vs the Bucs and saw the Jax preseason game last year.

One Wild game this year, vs the Kings, so the most famous person I saw there was... :?:

And I had tickets to see Wolves/Lakers earlier on, but it was the day after I had surgery, so I didn't go :'( Shaq, Kobe, GP and Malone... I think one or two of them were injured but I can't recall. As long as I could see GP, I'd be :y:

I saw Drew Bledsoe play in like his 2nd season back in the day, they beat the Jets and then went on to beat the Vikings the next weekend to end the season on a 7 game winning streak. Had luxury box seats at the Boston Garden..like one of the last games ever played there...it was pretty cool. I think Antoine Walker was on the team then, but im not 100% sure. I remember Greg Minor dropped 31 points for the C's

I went to a Yankees/Red Sox game one time with Pedro on the hill...probably the best sporting event ive ever been too.

I went to the Lakers/Wizards game two seasons ago. Every time Michael and Kobe lined up to face each other in a set play, the crowd lost it. Good times.

Load of Premiership players and like most of the big name European visitors to Newcastle (Barcelona, Inter mainly I guess) but outside football it would have to be Kobe Bryant or Shaq in an NBA game years ago when Kobe was still on the bench to Eddie Jones (aka the man). Against the Vancouver Grizzlies - Lakers rolled them over.

I've been to a couple Red Sox games one where they played Seattle in Boston a few years ago so I saw Nomar, A-Rod and Ken Griffey Jr. all on the same field. The other was in Baltimore, so nothing special. I've also been to a Rockie's Padres game back when Bichette was with the Rocks and Caminiti was still with the Padres.

I've been to a couple Nascar races so I've seen some of the best they have to offer like Rusty, Dale Jr., DJ, and yes even Gordon. :n:

I've seen Joe Montana play for the Chiefs against the Bills in the early 90's in the AFC Championship game. I have a picture of him warming up before the game. We were on the Chiefs side. (Bills won of course). On a side note, O.J. Simpson was walking the sidelines on the Chiefs side, this of course was before he killed his wife.

I've seen numerous Yankees play. One game i was on the first base side in the front row, even with first base, and before the game the Yanks were warming up. When they were done Paul O'Neil came over and signed an autograph for a little girl right next to us. I could have grabbed him, he was that close. I always thought that was very cool of him. Another time I was seven rows behind the Yanks dugout and we were able to move down to the front row because no one was sitting their. So we got to see all the Yanks up close when they were in the on-deck circle.

Wrestling related, I met Bret Hart at a ticket sale, for the first time Nitro came to the Hartford Civic Center. At the time, Bret was the United States champ. He was their with the Nitro girls, sighning autographs when you walked through the line. He was very nice and it was cool to met my favorite wrestler of all time. I talked to him for a minute or two but we had to keep moving. He signed a WCW magazine for my son.

I live in the Northwest Corner in CT. Which is a hotspot for Celebs to have their summer homes plus their is Skip Barber Racing school, which alot of celebs go to and Lime Rock Race track, which attract alot of famous people who race their Porches, Ferrari's and what not. Anyways, I worked at a restaurant so i was able to met a few celebs. I met Brian Johnson the lead singer for AC/DC, and I've seen Michael J. Fox, Kevin Bacon, Meryl Streep, and Whoopi Goldberg. They all leave close by. I've also seen Stephan Baldwin, he is really nice and down to earth, Mark Gaustineu (sp), he played football for the Jets in the 80's and Sally Jesse Raphael.

Hard to believe, but if you look into it this is the perfect place for these people to get away from the hustle and bustle of the City and it's about 2-3 hrs away.

Tony Montana

Probably David Beckham

Let's see; Paul Kariya, Mats Sundin, Alex Mogilny, Roger Clemens (I think I remember seeing him throw a few gems in his Jay seasons), Alan Iverson, Vince Carter and if we're counting wrestlers, Bret Hart amongst others.

I've seen Mario Lemieux live, and let me tell you, this guy is a magician with a puck. He did wonderful play through the night, and it was just great.

I also saw Gretzky, Forsberg, Sakic, and PATRICK ROY. He's a great goalie. I was there at a pre-season Montreal vs Nordiques gaem. They went 0-0 until overtime, and Gilbert Dionne scored at about 2 seconds before the end of the OT. Roy goaled a great game.

I've seen England play before, so you'd think I'd have tons of great players rolling off my tongue, except this was when we REALLY sucked. I think our best player was David Platt... I've just checked, Gascoigne was apparently playing so I guess it'll be him. I almost got the chance to see Jurgen Klinsmann in action too, but he chose that weekend to be injured, so I had to settle for Ginola.

NHL:
Steve Yzerman, Bret Hull, Joe Sakic, Sergei Federov, Mike Madano, Domink Hasek, etc (the Stars roster this year and 2 years ago plus the Avs roster this year and Wings of 2 years ago.)

MLB:
Nolan Ryan (several times), Cal Ripken Jr, Ken Griffey Jr

NFL:
Emmitt Smith, Aikman, etc (Cowboys from one of their Super Bowl years.)

If you gave that list to somebody around here (Texas) and asked them who was most famous, they'd tell you Nolan Ryan. However, I'm guessing it isn't as impressive to you guys eh?

Edit:
Oh and I forgot to mention Olympic gold medalists Brandon Slay and Kurt Angle (not at a WWE event, well I've seen him there too, but that's not what I meant!!).

I've been lucky, so I've seen a lot of "great players" and some "great games".

top 3 players...

Larry Bird
Michael Jordan
Cam Neely

top 3 games
this is tough, some kinda blur...
game 3, I think it was 3. Sox over A's last year that sent it back to Oakland.
Jordans first game back (it was at the garden) it was just electric. *
Pats v. Bills MNF it was the first MNF game in Foxboro in like 15years.

* - Part of the reason this game stands out, Ahmad Reshad and Bill Murry were a few rows in front and Murry was shaking hands on the way out triped and fell onto me. Also, I was on the isle, next to me was Bledsoe. People kept sneaking through security for an autograph, during a break I took my ticket stub, signed in "to drew, best wishes" or something like that and told him he'd given enough autographs he deserved to get one, laughed and thanked me and shook my hand. eventually he threw it on the ground, the really funny part was after he left, some guy came over and grabbed the stub and put it into a book, thinking it was bledsoes or something... I can't wait till 20yrs from now I see my autograph on a Celts ticket stub in some colectable store :)

Honerable mentions: Seeing Neely, also saw Bourque. Saw the celts teams of the early/mid 80's. Same w/ Red sox, saw Clemens v. Pedro, Saw the Pats upset Indy in Foxboro (I think it will Belichecks first season). Celtic playoff games last year, Red sox playoffs last years also saw the Pats game when Bledsoe got knocked out, and everyone panicked wanting to know why Huard wasn't in, and I told everyone around Brady would be fine...

Barry Bonds, pre-roids, back when he and Andy Van Slyke and Orlando Merced were the Pirates' outfield.

During batting practice, Van Slyke was putting on a show, catching balls behind his back and stuff. Of course, he was getting booed, 'cause we were in Cincy. :)
