I have always wondered why Raymond E. Feist's Riftwar/Midkemia books have never been made into a TV or film series. Some great source material (though in latter years the books have been rather sub par).
In the wake of the Lord of the Rings, Feist's Magician would have been a great place for a studio to exploit the former's success.
There might not be a place for it at the moment, TV-wise, with there already being Game of Thrones around, but there is definitely a market out there for such material.
