Haven't seen this until now, per his twitter page, Tyler Reks asked for his release and it was granted....can be viewed at @gabetuft
<b>For those that don't have a FaceBook page:
I just want to say thank you to WWE, Inc. for allowing me to be part of an incredible entertainment experience. On Monday, I asked for my release and the company was gracious enough to grant my request.
I realized recently that being a Superstar means sacrificing certain things, including time with my family. As a new father, my heart broke every time I had to leave to go on the road. I didn't ever want to miss another moment with my daughter, so I made the decision to be a full time dad and hang up my boots.
I will miss everyone in the locker room tremendously as they have all become a second family to me. I want to thank my coaches and teachers that really helped me along the way: Fit Finlay, Arn Anderson, Edge, Christian, Kane, Jericho, Dr. Tom, Norman Smiley, and Billy Kidman.
I also want to thank my boys. You know who you are. Especially though, a huge thank you to Hawkins. You were like a brother to me the last year and I'll miss you and will always love you bro. I wish you the best and thanks for understanding that I had to go be a dad. When she's older, and able to realize what happened, I know Mia will thank you as well.
Thanks to all the dedicated fans of #ReksAndHawkins and to The #RekkingCrew. I would never have survived without you.

The dream of him using a T-Rex gimmick is over :(

Yup, whiteyford must be crushed. Someone should have the police head to his place for a welfare check.

Damn, I liked Reks. Though by proxy this will likely end up in Hawkins getting released too.

I was going to dye him green while he slept...least he left on his own (good) terms.

If Drew McIntyre gets released without ever giving him a Desmond Hume gimmick then there'll be nothing left in wrestling for me to watch for.

I will admit seeing him leave on his terms makes me happy. I think long term he will be happy with that decision, and would like to wish him the best in his future endeavors.:shifty:

Damn..... I really liked Tyler Reks. Hopefully this doesn't mean it's "Goodbye" to Hawkins.

Very respectable decision. Plus he was pretty much volunteering anyways. LOL

Have to respect his decision he could probably come back down the road but I hope this doesn't put Hawkins carreer in jeopardy.

pretty sure that is Hawkins has lasted this long, and with him helping Rock getting back in shape for Mania, his job is safe..... I will miss Reks, I enjoyed him much more than I should have......

Weird seeing him go right when he was starting to do something as a character. I'm also sad that we won't get to see where that was headed. Getting to squash jobbers on Smackdown is no joke.

I don't remember exactly, but I think it might be from when they announced that Kurt Angle had signed with TNA.

After that dancing debacle I'm not surprised, they both looked like fools...that would certainly be enough motivation for me to ask for my release, especially after being squashed and ignored for the past year or so.

Didn't care much about Reks until he got paired with Hawkins. At the time it seems as just another random pairing but those two meshed well as a team.

I was like O___O with that Magic Mike reference dance off last week on SD. Still, it kills my mood everytime a underrated talent is always being released and not enough screentime on TV.

Never thought too much of Reks, but its refreshing to see a guy at his level leave on their own terms and in class. Happy for him.

Here's to hoping that Hawkins and Reks were gonna be Tag Champs.

I can understand the reason, but still sad to lose a tag team. Reks and Hawkins weren't the greatest, but they filled their roles perfectly.
Just gained a lot of respect for Reks. Been a fan of his work for the past year, and hope to see him back one day. It's refreshing to see such a humble and genuine statement of resignation rather than the usual petty/bitter ramblings a'la AW after his release last week.

He had a really funky debut when he knocked off Kaval, but one that kinda (momentarily) put him over. I thought he would've made well, but he was really underused during his time there, and I guess he probably felt the same way to make him feel like it isn't worth not seeing your family.

I always thought Reks had something. He got what he was out there to do, and he did it adequately. He was capable of big moves, but never did them without it making sense. The WWE just tried to push him at a time when there were too many heels going through the door at the same time, and he never really recovered. Plus, he had too sweet a voice for a monster. :-\
But it's great to see Reks doing what is best for himself and his family, and going out in such a classy way. :y:
