The reason Tebow didn't play in the second half was probably because he had to spend it all in the locker room praying for God to forgive him for all the foul language he heard right here.

Kregg Lumpkin is one of the most glorious names I've ever heard or seen.

I'd actually heard of him before as I think I remember when he was on the Bucs. Seeing his name written out of the blue caused a spit-take though.

Now see I disagree with Andy Reid deserves to finish out the year, because of what he has done thinking.

See I think the opposite, because of all what he has done for the Eagles you are actually doing him a favor by firing him right now. I think you are just punishing him, by keeping him through the year. Just start moving on now.

Kinda agree with this. If Andy Reid gets fired now, there's a good chance he'll be able to get a head coaching gig next year. If you wait till the end of the season, he probably has to wait a year.

But maybe that would be good for him. He could spend more time with his kids... :'(

I hope it goes into overtime again, Kaepernick has to go out for the final play after being knocked down, Alex Smith comes into the game for a hail mary, only to spike the ball and flip off Harbaugh.

Jim Harbaugh is the greatest thing that ever happened to Alex Smith. Alex will most likely get another gig after the 9ers somewhere and that's because of Jim Harbaugh. I don't feel bad for Alex all that much, as he got much better treatment than most coaches would've given him after years of sub-mediocrity. His stock is much higher than it was before.

#1-norm-fan
12-01-2012, 10:07 PM
The Bengals didn't delay the game the week Chris Henry died. The Redskins didn't delay the game the week Sean Taylor died. It's a tough situation as far as "do you or don't you play the game" but if they went ahead with those two, I'm not sure where you draw the line.

DrA
12-01-2012, 10:11 PM
There are a lot of people who have players from both teams on their fantasy football teams, so it wouldn't be too practical to cancel the game.

Skippord
12-01-2012, 10:18 PM
the Chiefs apparently wanted to play the game so I'd imagine that has an effect on whether or not they cancel it

SlickyTrickyDamon

SlickyTrickyDamon

Yeah, unless....

I'm calling bs on the fact that the incident wasn't enough to cancel the game not that the Chiefs wanted to play.

FearedSanctity
12-01-2012, 11:33 PM
But how would it not be up to the team? They're the ones most directly affected (league wise, I mean) and if they decide the game should go on, why shouldn't it? What reason could the league give for canceling/postponing? The team will just contradict them if they say they did it for their sake. And they're not gonna cancel it for the memory of a guy who killed his girlfriend just before himself. Pretty big PR backlash if that were the case

Emperor Smeat
12-01-2012, 11:40 PM
Only way they'd cancel the game is if either he shot up a few players or it was done during the pre-game stuff since a crowd would be there.

From all the reports so far, only Crennel and Pioli saw the actual suicide but from a distance and not actually looking at his face when he did it (back was turned to them). Both were said to be ok emotional-wise to continue with Sunday's game and probably felt the game itself would help the players with coping of the loss.

Triple Naitch

The only time I can think of a game being cancelled after a player died was Darryl Kile.

I remember the first game the Redskins played after Sean Taylor died. The first defensive play, they lined up only 10 defensive players as a tribute to Sean Taylor.

I'm thinking the Denver-Baltimore game in two weeks will likely mean the difference between the 4th and 3rd seed for Denver. Probably gonna root for Baltimore since Indy should get the 5th seed and play the 4th seed and I really wanna see Indy play Denver.

Emperor Smeat
12-02-2012, 09:16 PM
Think Indy could end up as the 6th seed considering they still have Houston twice and Denver probably could get the 3rd seed since their remaining schedule is a lot easier than Pats (Houston, SF next 2 weeks).

Although that Den-Bal game might end up deciding the #2 seed since Baltimore has a tough remaining schedule as well.

#1-norm-fan
12-02-2012, 09:24 PM
I just say that because New England holds the tie-breaker so Denver would have to end up with a better record than them outright.

New England only has one more game on the road and it's in Jacksonville.

#1-norm-fan

Because the AFC east already has 4 teams. Therefore geographical inaccuracies need to be made.

#1-norm-fan
12-03-2012, 04:14 AM
Though now that I think about it, Miami and Indianapolis could switch divisions and it would make more sense. I guess they felt the Miami rivalries within the East were more important than the Indy rivalries.

How wrong they were. Would have been Manning vs. Brady twice a year with them fighting for the same division. Also would have probably given Jacksonville some division titles over the last decade.
