Chris Jericho is great, but Kurt Angle may be the best of all time, neck and neck with HBK.

Jericho is to me what Triple H is to James Steele. Love the guy, and everything he does. Whether it's being the best in the world at what he does, or Fozzy, who are fucking awesome, or his two autobiographies, which are two of my favourite books. His dancing with the stars stuff was fun to watch, as was his time hosting that crappy gameshow, which was crap, but I watched it anyway because it was Chris Jericho, and all the crappy movies he's been in, which were also crap, but I still watched because Y2J was in them.

Jericho has gotten to where he is today, and at 40 years of age, not only is still looking fucking good, but he's still in great shape. He isn't broken down like Angle, nor is he a fucking raving lunatic like Angle. And yet, he's been in his fair share of five-star or dangerous matches, so there's no excuse that Angle "pushes himself harder".

Angle is fucking awesome, don't get me wrong. But quite simply, Chris Jericho is "the man".

Kurt Angle is the best wrestler out there. Look at everyone who jumped/went to TNA and how many people actually had an impact. Jeff Hardy, RVD, Christian, etc etc and they did not do anything for TNA. Kurt Angle is the only wrestler to come, make a splash, and to continue to help make an impact in TNA.

Kurt still has some excellent matches. Dude can still go, but people dismiss him just because he is in TNA.

If he was in the WWE, I don't think there would be nearly this amount of questioning.

I think I've made my own decision as well. Throwing my weight behind Kurt Angle in this thing.

I had thought TPWW had turned against him because of him being in TNA (and being slightly crazy sometimes), but looks like I am being proven wrong.

I have a stinking suspicion that Hogan, Nash, et al. would fear Kurt's success and sabotage long-term booking plans to delay a title reign, much like they did with Bret Hart, whom could have been used much better in WCW but was relegated to full-time Hogan lackey for most of 1998.

Although a match between Sting in his prime and a young Angle would have been great, there would have been many more dud bookings such as feuding with David Flair or Tank Abbott. WCW would have likely given Angle a U.S. Title run sometime in 2000, after it was too late to turn around the sinking ship. "New Blood" Angle could have been a preview of the WWE Psycho Angle, except with the Millionaire's Club (particularly DDP) booked to go over.

Seeing how the Hammerstein crowd would treat Kurt Angle as if he were an ECW original was awesome. Makes me sad ECW didn't work out. They could have built up that hardcore crowd without relying on old washed up ECW guys. They had the guys to do it.

He would have been for a short time but I don't think he would have been cultivated and refined in WCW the way he was in WWE. WCW's hardon was really more for the fame of those guys you mentioned and not their athletic skill. (Also you left Jay Leno off that list.) The thing about Angle is that he knew damn near nothing about the business when he came in. He was brilliant in his first year in the WWF where he was put through a lot of comedy scenarios but was still capable of looking like a real threat. It was a masterful piece of booking that showcased his raw ability while giving him enough character to make him a draw to those who might not care about such things. I doubt WCW could ever pull off something like that.

Anyways I voted for Jericho because Angle never wore a Lite-brite jacket.

After a long deliberation, I've cast my vote. Kurt Angle is truly amazing. Kurt Angle has given me many memories, but Chris Jericho has given me all that and then some. Chris Jericho was my 1st "favorite heel" in WCW. You never forget your 1st bad guy you love. Jericho's books were also amazing. While some here might say Chris Jericho is overrated, you could say the same thing about blowjobs. It may be true, but who gives a fuck because they are amazing.

Indeed, and given Nash's booking power, Angle's success would have been partially determined by how well Big Sexy took a liking to young Kurt. Would Nash have seen Angle as just another "vanilla midget" despite the Olympic credentials? Other Olympians in WCW such as Ted Arcidi, Bill Kazmaier, and Chip Minton weren't used for much more than one or two years before being released from WCW. And I doubt Hogan would have used his creative control to build Angle.

Polls closed but I'll give my TWO cents. I didn't vote and stayed impartial. Its 50/50 for me. Angle wins on pure athletic ability and wrestling talent. Not many guys have ever been able to match and do chain wrestling with Angle except Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, and Lesnar. Thats a quality I love and admire. On the other side Jericho wins purely on longevity of character development and his endless charisma. Both guys have good qualities, Angle is the better wrestler, but Jerich is the better entertainer. Out of respect for both, I conclude my opinion on the match to be a DRAW.
