View Full Version : Do you vote in the WWE Match of the Week polls?

Seems like interest in these threads is slowly dwindling, which is a shame, since we're a few months away from the end of the year and I was hoping the Match of the Year poll would be a "big deal." It doesn't help that the threads are very inconsistently sticked, but I can't completely blame it on that, since even the Smackdown spoiler threads get twice as many replies. So what is it?

I haven't been here long, but I've done my part.

The rest of Tee-Pee-Double-Double will have to explain themselves.

I'm not trying to call anyone "out" or whatever, I'm genuinely curious.

Keith

To be honest, there are a lot of polls that don't seem to get "stickied" at times, for whatever reason and they get lost within the other threads.

Right now you can go to the wrestling forum's main page and you'll see a couple polls near the middle and bottom.

I'm sure that's one of the reasons.

Honestly, I don't really care or am interested in this or most of the polls done. The Better Wrestler/Best Wrestler polls are the only ones I really do consistently and its only if it has guys I care about enough to argue/defend/etc.

Not enough HHH for ya?

James Steele

No. I've come to accept that Triple H is basically on the Undertaker match schedule. Most weeks, 1 maybe 2 matches stick out in my mind. I'm not big on rating matches and stuff anyway, but the only weeks where there is a Match of the Week poll worth checking into is on PPV weeks. Even then, its generally 1 match that is consensus best or there is a scrap between 2 matches on a PPV card. (Examples: The weeks where Punk/Bryan wrestled on RAW and SD!. It was clearly the match of the week while WrestleMania 28 had Jericho/Punk and HHH/Taker. Two completely different matches but both had merits as to why it was match of the week. Ergo, there is only a handful of weeks through the year where the poll is worth looking into.)

Juan, I love you and the work you do with that series, but this thread comes off as slightly self-serving. If you want to see it through, then see it through. If you don't, then don't. The public will speak without a microphone shoved in their faces. It's essentially the difference between Better Wrestler and Armchair Warfare.

To answer your question personally, though...I haven't gotten to watch as much wrestling as I used to due to working about fifty million hours a week.

Juan

Well, I wasn't planning on ending it, I was just looking for constructive criticism I guess.

...and yes, I know that links are posted to all of the matches, and that takes a lot of effort that the site as a whole benefits from.

That said, anybody who thinks I should cut out time to watch a match that I missed for whatever reason can suck my dick, especially considering how many threads we have here based on how shitty WWE is.

That's the thing. You're not doing anything wrong. You're doing a great job. There can be any number of reasons for people not voting, though.

If you'd like, I could definitely vote based solely on the matches that I actually saw that week, but that hardly seems fair. I'd have no problem doing that, though.

Just vote dammit

Deflect however you'd like, but your poll choices tell the story here. It's not you, bro. It's us.

Juan

I'm not gonna lie, all I really want is for people to vote. That was supposed to be the point of this thread when I thought of it, but I guess I did get a little self serving when thinking of the poll options.

I am a consistant voter, so I went with "I Hate Juan" to appear edgy and mysterious.

I bet a writer once proposed "Edgy & Mysterious" as a name for the tag team of Edge & Rey Mysterio and was fired on the spot.

I never watch NXT, Superstars or SMS and seldom watch Smackdown so it seems a bit odd for me to name one match the winner when I didn't give most a view especially since the ones I didn't see are likely the ones I would enjoy most (Tyson Kidd, Sin Cara). I tend to vote if I do watch Smackdown or one match on Raw really stands out though.

This. Minus Sin Cara. Add Hunico. :y:

Think I've yet to not vote in any of these polls even when it's a tough call.

I only watch RAW so I feel like a liar and a fool voting UNLESS a certain RAW match is totally unbelievably good. And even then I have reservations. Love ya Wan.

I usually read the match results and comments from fellow forum users. Even ignoring the 90 minutes or so saved from doing that, I enjoy reading about the matches more than I like watching them, oddly enough. If there's a botch, then I can imagine the match as happening more smoothly if I'm reading a description rather than watching the real thing.

Rammsteinmad

I think I have done from time-to-time, but the problem is it's just too many matches. I'm too lazy to really think about which one was the best, especially if there were multiple ones that I liked, and I'm too lazy to go back and watch an entire match.

At the same time, I don't wish to taint the poll with a vote that isn't sincere. Ya'mean? I guess if there was an amazing five-star match on Raw, then I'd vote for it, no problem. Otherwise, I'm just too lazy to think about it.

Sorry. :(

Seems like the problem is people taking it seriously and wanting to see all the matches, which is pretty ironic, it's not that people don't care it's that they care too much!

For the record I only watch RAW and matches on smackdown that interest me but still vote every week. I know that's probably not fair to Derrick Batemen or whoever's having 5 star matches on superstars but fuck it.

I barely watch enough to know what's going on, so its not really justifiable for me to vote in a poll where I haven't seen half the matches.

I only ever watch the PPV's , so I vote in the match of the month thread if I agree with the match of the ppv which I more often than not do.
