I am super out of touch. I do not listen to Katy Perry, LMFAO, Nicky Minaj etc.

Share some new radio hits / super duper awesome pop songs that you enjoy.

LMFAO songs are absolutely diabolical.

But that's just my opinion.

I never noticed your mention of Nicky Minaj there.

Her songs are pretty bad too.

Though a more serious post here, I feel that the quality of "popular music" has dramatically declined in recent years.

Your average "popular song" these days consists of some kind of electronic beat, auto-tune, and lyrics talking about how great sex is, how great alcohol is and how great the two are combined.

I tend not to listen to "popular music" because I find most of them to be terrible. The only time I really hear the stuff is when I'm out at a bar/club on a night out. Though I will say there are a few songs that I hear and I enjoy, but very rarely does that happen.

I was woken up by that song last week.

Some woman had it playing in her parked car really loud with her window open. :(

We listen to the top 40 every Saturday at work. These are some songs that get some heavy play that I've noticed I don't hate.

That's KC song is the only song that comes to mind from this year and I'm not even a fan of hers particularly it's not been a good year for pop.

LMFAO's song are fantastic.

Not ashamed to admit that I sing "Call Me Maybe" whenever it comes on the radio at work.

Haven't heard much chart stuff as of late but anything by Maroon 5 makes me tingle like a little girl.

Don't really have a problem with most chart stuff though really. I don't tend to go out of my way to listen to a lot of pop songs but I don't vigorously hate it like some people seem to and I find myself humming along or something more often than not.

I don't listen to chart music and probably couldn't name anybody that is frequently played on pop radio stations.

I am currently switching between Gianluigi Trovesi/Gianni Coscia's Round About Weill (Jazz) and Patricia Petibon's Airs Baroques Francais albums.

I enjoyed the Tiesto cover of Avicii's Levels until is was played non-stop. Not sure if that was this year or last though.

And I had a Call Me Maybe phase.

Lights is a great song, but why are they just now playing that song on the radio? I've been listening to it for over a year and it was released like 2 years ago.

Dunno. On the top 40 countdown it hit number one a week or two ago and they mentioned it was the slowest climb to 1 in like 13 years or something. The whole album is pretty good though. :y:

Besides hearing a few hits in a night club (sometimes in a dub step remix) or someone's car, I don't listen to the top hits on my own free will on a radio or anything, I just stick with bands I like or recommendations.

I don't like Katy Perry, LMFAO or Nicky Minaj at all, but I did like that Skrillex song on Beavis & Butt-Head that uses that "CALL 911!" sample.

Lana Del Rey isn't bad from what I heard and I liked Lady Gaga's live Princess Di song, but I don't think that was a big hit or anything.

Taylor Swift-We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is the best thing on commercial radio right now, by a large measure.

Imagine Dragons-It's Time is the best rock radio track at the moment.

D00d, I got it a few months ago when it was on sale on Google Play. I enjoy Midnight City from time to time while travelling.
