I honestly feel that Hunico is being held back by the backstage politics. He is a pretty decent in-ring performer and can compete in mid-card title matches and come across as a legit threat.
Discuss Hunico and post your favourite Hunico moments/matches.

I really dug the Sin Cara Negro business, but that's about it. I really don't see why a lot of people here seem to dig him so much. He's OK, but I'm not bothered by him not being more prominent.

meh..... He hasn't been on TV for a while, and I have not missed him.... the whole gangster Latino gimmick does nothing for me.....

I loved the idea of a Heel Luchadore.
But him and camacho as the mexicools 2.0 can fuck right off

My favorite Hunico moment was Survivor Series when Sin Cara ruined the match, they had to call an audible and Hunico sat off to the side letting the dubdubE realize that they were pushing the wrong guy under the mask. But they didn't really realize it.

Hunico should definitely be pushed as a face. Dude seems so likeable. Has the potential to be more over as a face than Sin Cara ever will.

Seemed like they didnt know what to do with him once he lost the mask so they just strapped him with a stereotypical cholo gimmick and put him with the Colons before realising they aren't Mexican.
He also didn't get much out of the Jinder Mahal spot where he was "foreign" and a low card heel so he would randomly job to whoever was getting pushed strong in filler PPV matches. He's infinitely more entertaining than Mahal though, I'll give him that.
Noid's idea for a feud with Del Rio would be enough to get the guy over to midcard title level.

The guy is fantastic in the ring, and has some pretty explosive moves behind him that I've not seen anyone else do before.
He's got enough charisma and mic skills to carry himself outside of the ring too, and despite not being 7-foot 300lbs, he's got enough size on him to look like a legit threat.
I'm not asking for him to be WWE Champion by the end of the year, but the guy is definitely capable of a lot more than jobbing on Superstars.

And like Lock Jaw said, going by anything I've seen from him outside of WWE, the guy seems incredibly likeable.

Very good in ring talent but I just never really cared for him except when he was paired with Epico why they split them up i'll never know his current gimmick comes of as yet another typical wrestling stereotype.
Teaming up Hunico with the Colon cousins was the most racist thing ever.

I absolutely love Hunico, but I don't think he's being "held back." Is he being used to the best of his abilities? Not at all, but I think he's spending a bit of time in NXT working with some of the younger guys and helping polish off their skills.
Hunico gets the WWE style. He manages to really do some amazing stuff within those boundaries, and for a dude his size, he's really quite a strong guy. His current character is not going to connect with anyone, though. He's a stereotype we are meant to boo because he has a bad attitude about being a stereotype. At least the feud with Del Rio would give people a reason to care. Del Rio should probably take some time away from the main event scene, too, since he's had about 723 World Title shots lately.
For those who unaware of my proposed Hunico/Del Rio feud -- Del Rio would disrespect Hunico backstage because Del Rio is an aristocrat, and Hunico is street trash. Hunico would take issue with this, and attack Del Rio before a match. Del Rio would then pay Camacho to turn on Hunico, and Camacho accepts, aligning himself with Del Rio, explaining that he loves Hunico like a brother, but he needs to look after himself and do the right thing for his career. Camacho then becomes a character with depth and motivation himself.
Hunico beats David Otunga and Camacho to earn a shot at Del Rio, and he doesn't need to beat Del Rio, but perhaps he can do a bit where he refuses to quit, so Del Rio has to pin him instead of making him submit.
If you want to keep him a heel, though, and have no interest in pushing him -- Hunico y Camacho vs. Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel would be an absolutely awesome tag team feud.

Reportedly, Vince really likes Hunico because he got him to cut an impromptu promo once and did quite well.

I'm totally indifferent on Hunico. He's done nothing so far to make me like him or dislike him.

That's a great plan. I have to wonder why Vince would do otherwise? I'm sure the thought has crossed McMahon's mind, but business acumen does not necessarily correlate with creative acumen... yet he made Vince Russo's ideas palatable with wise editing, so Hunico's lack of a face push is bizarre.

It could be timing?
It could be timing?
And it just occurred to me that the Attitude Era had fewer writers than what WWE employs now. I recall Russo, Ferrera, and Gerwitz were the head writers who coalesced the ideas for presentation to McMahaon, whereas now a committee of writers decides a few competing options for McMahon to choose a la poll.
Is this correct? If so, then there may be too many cooks in the kitchen, and creative direction loses consistency and vision.

I think Hunico is absolutely fantastic. I want to see more of him on my TV but I know that isn't going to happen anytime soon.
I think Noid's idea is really good. I also remember hearing about Vince really liking Hunico because of this impromptu promo. Hunico does actually seem like a really nice guy and his matches are always great to watch.
Even though Hunico was only called up to the main roster to take the place of a suspended Sin Cara, I like Hunico far more than Sin Cara.

Even if you drop the Camacho thing and have Hunico team up with Primo & Epico to face the 3MB or something. He's such a good talent.

I like Camacho enough, but if Hunico is not getting used in his role, as his sidekick, Camacho is doing even less.
