Think it will ever be brought back? I'd love to see it return. If it doesn't return, I may buy a replica belt of it and declare myself the European champion.

Both the Euro and the Hardcore title need to return, as well as the cruiserweight AND the light heavyweight titles at the same time.

I think they should bring it back so some of the mid-card guys can have a goal to aim for and something to fight over. It will also give them a chance to win something as they climb the ladder to the World Title.

The hardcore title won't be brought back since WWE is a family show again.

since the US Champion is mostly defending his titles against NON-Americans, why not just make IT the European Title?

Actually, they have the same amount of titles now, that they had ten years ago. :p

I'd be for that, but it probably won't happen. I'm surprise Vince prefers his guys wearing a WCW-created title over a WWE-created title.

Heck, if they could have the European title back just for a little while that'd be cool - Maybe they could build up this big feud between the U.S. champion and the European champion and then have this match which would be title for title and the belts would be unified. The winner of that match could then decide which title goes and which one stays.

I think it's high time they introduce the African Title.

WWE should create a new championship, the

THE RYBACK title.

I would love to see Cesaro win on Sunday and bring back the European Championship in place of the United States Championship, but the title history would remain as him holding the US Title and not the European. It would gain him so much heat, along with him speaking all the European languages before his matches and him having the old fashioned and clichéd "I'm not from America, so I'm better than you" attitude.

That was back in August.

2 out of 3 so far. All that needs to happen is Cesaro bringing back the European Championship and I'd be a very happy man.

Too many titles already.

it's not the number of titles, its the number of times the titles are defended. nobody gives a shit about one title match when it's on the line again 15 minutes later.

i've said it before and i'll say it again: title matches on ppvs only.

Funny, I've been thinking a lot about the Euro belt recently (because I have no life, so these are the things I think about)..

Does anybody know what the reason was they created a European title to begin with? Was it simply that they were drawing better over here than in the States at the time and decided to have something to appease fans? Or was there more to it than that?

It most likely was created to get over with the fans in Europe.

I'd be fine with that only problem is that originally it was a 2nd tier minor belt then again a lot of peeps right now probably feel that way about the WHC.

It'd be cheap heat, but it makes total sense for Antonio Caesaro to turn the IC Title into the European Championship and might give him some more room to create a character.

Have WWE hold a show in Nigeria and job Tensai to Power Uti. PU's fans are the epitome of "you win, we riot".

The US title has a far more prestigious history.

If the Euro title comes back as a legit championship and not as a reinvention of Lance Storm's "Canadian Heavyweight Championship" run, it might serve well as a "midcard" title on NXT. Have Regal re-introduce it or something.

I had a thought about the European belt a few weeks back when someone posted a possible storyline/thought (not sure) that Santino would find the belt at WWE HQ in a dusty old storeroom and start to wear in again. Well, it got me thinking, how many European born wrestlers are there on the roster at the minute. You have Sheamus, Wade Barrett, William Regal, Mason Ryan and Drew McIntyre are the only ones I can name of the top of my head, maybe more. Then you have others like Antonio Cessaro and Santino Marella who may not have been born in Europe (the lines become blurry here) but have clear European related gimmicks. Then you have older guys like Finlay (mayb not on active roster) and the like who could help build up a European 'division'. Also TNA have a few European guys aswell. Magnus, Rob Terry and Doug Williams who could bolster the division again. Then you have Indy guys who have European related gimmicks or who are actually from here. I know it may not be a US supported move but both TNA and WWE are trying to make big in roads into the worldwide businees as a whole and this, i think, would be one way to get another market.

Your thoughts??

I think outside of 98-01 the title wasn't used correctly. Guys like HHH, D'Lo and Waltman made it something. Now it would be used as a prop to gauge how guys like Slater, Gabriel, and Clay would be in a title feud, even if its not so prestigious. That said, they have to get so much other shit in order before they do anything like this.

No-one gives a shit about the majority of European wrestlers except European fans. Shame the WWE is based in America really...

Hell, most Europeans don't even give a shit about European wrestlers. Isn't the European wrestling scene basically dead?

Saying that, I am looking forward to see what they do with Martin Stone and PAC

I wouldn't mind if Antonio proclaimed the US Title now the European title, then when American Babyface Hero beats him he can reclaim it the US Title. Then if someone wants to get crazy and beat the shit out of the Babyface Hero in a hardcore match, he then proclaims it the Hardcore championship, then after a while a cruiserweight challenges the Hardcore Champion and wins and proclaims the title the Cruiserweight Title, all until finall the title gets unified with the Intercontinental champion.

I was thinking before how I wouldn't mind it if Survivor Series was used to do "Champion vs. Champion Matches" with both champions defending their titles. Have CM Punk vs. Sheamus for the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship and Kofi Kingston vs. Antonio Cesaro for the IC and US Titles. Note that these would not be permanent unifications of the championships -- but merely the champions trying to expand their turf by winning a second title each.

CM Punk would beat Sheamus and become a four-time World Heavyweight Champion before Dolph Ziggler cashed in and would win the title from him -- keeping it and the WWE Title separate for the foreseeable future -- while Cesaro would beat Kofi, retaining the US Title and winning the IC Title for the first time in his career. Cesaro could then bring out the European Championship with him, as well, and do an Ultimo Dragon/Lance Storm thing. Maybe even have him bring back JBL's Hardcore Title design and have him beat Ezekiel Jackson and Zack Ryder in unofficially sanctioned ECW Title and Internet Title matches.
