Real question...no trolling. Woul you sign and trade Derrick Rose for Chris Paul
Every time I hear the name Chris Paul I get sick to my stomach thinking about what the Hawks could have had. Dude even went on record saying he wanted to play in Atlanta and instead... Marvin Williams. Dude wasn't even a starter at UNC!
Hopefully, that wrong can be corrected this free agent period.

Was a brief rumor going around that even those in the Bulls organization think he might never return to previous form. Bottom line is no one knows what he'l be like. Should the Vikes have done the same with Adrian Peterson?
Answer: No. Rose and the Bulls have too much invested in each other and his overall competitive spirit gives me hope for him. This years not-coming-back debacle aside, the kid has always set a huge goal every off season and delivered (Jump shot, 3 Pointers, Stamina). He gets the benefit of the doubt from me.
I can see the similarity of AD having an ACL tear and D Rose...but the similarities end there. Where Peterson did everything to come back...DRose is taking his sweet fucking time at the detriment of his team and his city...that's gotta be pissing off the Front office. They've been known to make some drastic moves.

Why could he come here In your opinion? What parts would excite him more than staying put in LA?
No but fuck D Rose. Chris Paul has some years built up on him. I would take Westbrook for D Rose though.
Hmm, I wonder if this becomes a prevailing thought among fans. I mean if people can hate Lebron for his 'Decision' how can they not give DRose a little grief for his?

It's barely above a pipe dream at this point for sure, but Danny Ferry cleared space solely to make a run at Howard and Paul and I think the fact that Paul declined the initial extension is some indication that he isn't all that committed to LA.
I personally think Dallas has the inside track on both of those guys, but if Ferry can convince Dwight to come home, I think Chris would at least consider it. If they keep J-Smoove as well, who is one of Dwight's best friends, I think the odds increase a bit more.
I can believe dammit!

They can forgive DRose because ESPN isn't all over his layoff and talking about it at every opening like they do with LeBron. DRose can pretty much be an afterthought aside from Bulls fans whereas they pretty much villainized LeBron.

Thats the thing....we have no idea whats going on. The story has changed multiple times from multiple sources. We don't KNOW what the hell is going on. Is he taking his time? Has he re-torn his ACL? Could be either or anything in between. If I pick an angle, it couldn't be proven or dis-proven.
Memba when everyone thought Cutler was a puss for not going back into the NFC Championship? Yeah....he was f'n hurt, and people still bitched.
Hmm, I wonder if this becomes a prevailing thought among fans.
It is starting to turn that way. Take a look at Ruien's thoughts. Again, its because we haven't gotten a straight answer from the player. Why have we not gotten one? Who knows. That's where the frustration comes in. I stress patience based on past performances, but I understand Ruien.
Ill be interested to see what happens if the Bulls advance. What would happen if the Bulls, say, go to the Finals without Rose?? I think thats why they haven't definitively said he isnt coming back - even if he is to be used as a decoy, let the opposing coach spend time on him.

Nope. Rose's star value is a lot lower now than Paul's especially with how good the Bulls have been this year.
If I was the Bulls GM, I'd make the trade but no way the Clippers GM takes Rose without more players and/or picks added.
Could be fair and make the trade between Rose and Rondo (both are injured stars) but even then the deal would be bad for the Celtics unless the Bulls added more.

There should be co coaches of the year. Thibs is doing a masterful job, Karl deserves some love, Del Negro had the Clippers in the number 3 seed, and Mark Jackson has your Golden State Warriors in the conference semis.

NBA originally leaned towards favoring the Sacramento group when the bid difference was just $25 million but could change their mind now that its $100 million apart.

Maloof family reported to have struck a deal with the Seattle group for the majority ownership of the Kings.
If the NBA approves, the Seattle group gets the family's 65% ownership stake and can move the team if they wish.
If the NBA rejects, the family is prepared to give them 20% ownership for $125 million. They'd also reject the Sacramento's group bid as part of the agreement.

Too big of a market tv-wise to just drop. They'd lose all of Canada and whatever sponsors/ad revenues they bring in.
Moving Vancouver over a decade was a lot easier since that team was only a few years old and loosing them didn't impact their overall Canadian market. The Grizzles have been in Memphis a lot longer than they ever were in Vancouver.

Doubt it would go lower than what the Spurs vs Cavs did since at least Indiana is a decent basketball market. Not even Lebron and all his early hype as the next Jordan-like mega star saved that series ratings-wise.

Call me crazy, but I think the Pacers could make the conference finals a hell of a lot more interesting for the Heat. Kings moving or not moving saga finally got settled as the Maloofs sold their majority share to the Sacramento group for $535 million ($10 million more than before).
Decided it wasn't worth the headache to keep trying to convince the NBA to let them sell the team or a 20% share to the Seattle group.
Maloofs end up pocketing around $200 million after debts are paid off and just a $44 million profit compared to when they originally bought the team.

Bobcats wanna change their name to the Hornets.
Just days after saying they’d never sell the team to a Sacramento group, the Maloofs have agreed to sell the team for $535 million. Which proves they are both greedy and also liars. They killed arena deals for seven years, threatened to move to Anaheim, and then Seattle, all while signing Linday Lohan’s sister to a record deal, mismanaging a skateboarding tour to the point where it could only take place in South Africa, and losing 98% of their casino investment in the Palms. They even ran a WNBA team into the ground along the way.
And now they’re finally gone from the NBA, and half a billion seems like a bargain to get them away from Sacramento and professional basketball for good. Goodbye, good night, good riddance.
The Maloofs are expected to blow through the $535 million in just under 18 months.

Except if Seattle tries to sue the NBA for lying to them about trying to get a team for them. At least it is over for the Kings fans. If they don't now come to watch the games and spend money on the team they are the real liars.

Why not just make 2 more expansion teams and have a 32 team setup like the NFL? Clearly Seattle gets a team so the SuperSonics can reemerge, but the 2nd expansion team could be tricky. Clearly you have to find the right market and all, but it can't be any worse than the NOLA Pelicans.

If you believe the league from during the lockout, something like 2/3 of the league's teams are loosing money even with the revenue sharing. Most likely those 2 expansion teams would be loosing money early on and the expansion fees the other teams get would only help them for a year.
Also Ruien is correct in that there isn't enough talent to spread around and only is getting worse now that "super teams" are being formed and hogging stars.

Not taking it as such... I wasn't following "The Scene" that heavily, until I started following some AAU teams, and watched some ABDC camps. Everyone was talking about this phenom. So I saw some of his games. It became very easy to watch him play, since his games were being televised on ESPN. I mean he's been in the national spotlight since that sports illustrated cover in 2002.
I put that i was a fan since 2001, I should have put 2002. It's mental slip up on my behalf. Instead of correcting it by editing my post, I'll show some integrity by leaving it and putting an admission of error here.

Even with his horrific playoffs this is a good deal for the Knicks.
With their cap situation they can't really go after much in free agency so its not like he's taking money from potentially better players. The biggest thing that needs to happen is Woodson needs to not give JR full reign and reel him in a bit.
One thing JR proved is that living with him as the second scoring option is gonna be tough though. Once again Amare is basically the key to next season. They need that second scoring option so Smith doesn't have to be relied on as much.
Not sure what the Knicks will do to get better since their cap situation is pretty terrible. They're gonna need the players they do have to step up. Luckily it looks like Shumpert is nearly fully recovered from his injury so a full season of him at full health should be fine.
Knicks also need to really hit on their 1st rounder this year.

Chris Paul supposedly is "very angry" at the Clippers over the idea that he played any role in Vinny Del Negro getting fired. He's considering options of playing for a new team next season although he's also waiting to see who they hire before making a decision.
Rockets making a strong push to get Dwight Howard once he becomes a free agent July 1st.
Sources close to the process told ESPN.com that the Rockets have received what has been described as "hopeful signals" that Howard is seriously considering a jump from the Lakers to the Rockets after becoming a free agent July 1.
Although the Rockets are well aware that Howard has a penchant for changing his mind, sources say that Howard has conveyed his rising interest to Houston star swingman James Harden, a fellow West All-Star.
Sources say Howard, furthermore, has already made it clear he'll field in-person recruiting visits from the Rockets and Dallas Mavericks once free agency begins. It's possible, sources said, that other teams will be added to the list.

I like Roy Hibbert. He is a well rounded NBA "Star."
I think after game 4 they pulled Roy off the floor for an interview and he was fucking pumped as shit still he was like " WE AINT GOING NOWHERE! " . It was pretty fucking LOL. I think we can win this game. Hibbert, George and West look like they will not let us fucking lose.
