* RAW opens with Paul Heyman and The Miz backstage. Miz isn't happy about CM Punk ditching them last week and quits Team Punk for Survivor Series.

1 - Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara and R-Truth defeated Darren Young, Titus O'Neil and Antonio Cesaro in the opening match.

* Segment with Vickie Guerrero and John Cena. Vickie shows her new video evidence of AJ Lee and Cena at the hotel. Cena denies it and says the footage was doctored up by someone. AJ is shown backstage and threatens Vickie but doesn't want to be fired. Dolph Ziggler appears, mocks AJ and causes her to run off. Cena leaves the ring and heads to the back.

* Paul Heyman asks Wade Barrett to join his team and replace Miz. Barrett accepts.

2 - Cody Rhodes beat Daniel Bryan in a quick match. Damien Sandow and Kane got involved. After the match, Cody promised Sandow could beat Kane just as easy.

3 - Kane beat Damien Sandow in a squash.

* Brad Maddox came out for an interview with Michael Cole. Maddox said he's not working with CM Punk. He says he did what he did at Hell In a Cell to make an impact. He wants a WWE contract and a match against Ryback. Vince McMahon comes out and promises Maddox a contract if he can beat Ryback next week. Vickie Guerrero comes out and Vince forces her to book Punk vs. Cena vs. Ryback at Survivor Series for the WWE Title.

4 - World Heavyweight Champion Big Show comes out for commentary on the next match. Sheamus defeats The Miz with the Brogue Kick.

* Vickie has a meeting with Vince and informs Ziggler that he is now the captain of Team Punk at Survivor Series. Vickie makes Ryback and Cena vs. Punk and Ziggler for tonight.

* Brief backstage segment with Sheamus and William Regal.

5 - Layla and Kaitlyn defeated Eve Torres and Aksana.

* Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez spoke backstage, but it was inaudible. ADR bumped into Rosa Mendes, and they flirted briefly.

6 - Kofi Kingston defeated Alberto Del Rio when Randy Orton's music hit for a distraction. Orton appeared after the match and laid Del Rio out with a RKO.

7 - Santino/Ryder defeated Primo/Epico

8 - Wade Barrett came out to a big pop and then beat Brodus Clay in a quick match. Barrett was way over with the crowd.

9 - Heath Slater defeated Jey Uso in another quick match.

* C.M. Punk comes to the ring for a promo. Punk says he did the impossible and defeated Ryback. He says that Vince is carrying on a Survivor Series tradition by screwing his most talented performer. At Survivor Series he will celebrate 364 days as champ because he's the best in the world.

* A graphic shows "Team Orton" featuring Orton, Hell No, Kofi Kingston, and a question mark. "Team Ziggler" features Ziggler in place of Punk and Barrett in place of Miz. No mention of Foley in that graphic.

10 - John Cena & Ryback beat WWE champion C.M. Punk & Dolph Ziggler. Afterwards, he faced off with Cena, and started the "Feed Me More" chants. Cena posed to the crowd to end the show.

Lol so they've just decided on a completely different Survivor Series card since last week then.

Ryback v Cena could have been a hot match by itself, shame they're pulling the trigger on them crossing paths so early on.

Pretty stupid the way they've just had to re-work the entire ppv card. Wonder if The Miz could possibly turn face and join Team Orton, or if they'll just get someone a it lacklustre like Booker T joining them.

Thought the original card with Team Foley/Team Punk and Cena vs Ziggler looked way better tbh.

They probably decided that no WWE Title match on that card or at least something major at stake would be a buyrate killer.

Still though... Holy shit... Just when it seems like WWE's booking couldn't be any more of a clusterfuck, they surprise me. People get paid a shitload of money to literally not know what the fuck they are doing. Seriously can't think of a scripted form of entertainment that has nearly this much disorder and unprofessionalism in the way it's written.

that's because there is no other scripted form of entertainment that works anything like WWE

It's still writing a television show despite how it's presented. Nothing about it forces the kind of clusterfuck, indecisive, directionless writing they've done almost consistently for the past few years.

TNA

TNA isn't as all over the place with it's booking as WWE is.

And that's saying something considering TNA is pretty all over the place with it's booking. At least they do things for a reason. Even if the end game isn't all that entertaining.

is it really that bad? Because I see you complain about it a lot yet you still seem to pay a lot of attention. If I think a TV show has "clusterfuck, indecisive, directionless writing", I tend to stay well away. You make out like it's WCW in 2000.

I think it's an incredible form of entertainment that is great in the long term. Stuff involving The Rock and Lesnar and Taker for example, whom they don't have constant access to water them down, is generally pretty stellar.

But yes, as far as the week in/week out writing, it is that bad. I've pointed out Jericho's random return that lead nowhere because they seemed to wanna do something intriguing by having him come out and do silent promos and eventually break down and cry in the middle of the ring but they had no idea where they were going with it and ended it and it just... stopped. There's the fizzling out of the Cena/Eve/Kane/Ryder thing... that huge climax to the AJ/Punk/Bryan storyline which went into her being >1 year long GM number 693 because they can't figure out what they're doing as far as a GM goes....

And now they're changing plans left and right here.

Yes... it's a clusterfuck... they are indecisive... and there is zero direction in anything that doesn't involve Rock, Taker or Lesnar.

Thing is, they could have used Cena vs Ziggler to elevate Ziggler.

And they could have used Team Punk vs. Team Foley to continue Punk vs. Ryback. Have it end with Ryback beating Punk clean as a sheet. Then Punk getting another choice, and choosing Cena for fear of Ryback. He sneaks past Cena and Rock. Ryback wins the Rumble, Punk tries to dodge but is no longer able to come time for Mania.

And I pulled that out of my ass.

I think they need to find a smooth way out of Punk-Ryback so they can go their separate ways without it seeming like they were building to a Ryback title win just to fuck with people. I can't see Rock not being involved in a WWE title match at WM whether it be as champion or challenger and I don't think Ryback fits into the equation well.

I'm really hoping for Ryback-Lesnar at WrestleMania though. That match just has this feel to it that I can't explain. It would have an insane "Big fight feel".

Smart move on replacing the Miz but wow at the rest.

What was the purpose of hyping up Team Foley vs Team Punk if now neither are even on the team anymore and now its just some random SS match instead.

Also Vickie's role is pretty much useless if Vince can just randomly walk in and have matches be made.

They changed the teams to Team Orton and Team Ziggler. Ziggler and Orton is the WHC fued for the next 7+ months, get used to it.

I totally just skipped past any part that involved Vickie talking. Can they not find a new heel woman that generates that kind of heat?
