Chiarelli has a Plan B and said he will improve the team before Wednesday's deadline. He would like to add a forward and a defenseman to the mix. The series will begin with the Winter Classic, which was recently confirmed for Ann Arbor, Mich., on Jan. 1, 2014, and will also include with games in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Vancouver.

The Jan. 1 game will include the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs.

In addition, California will host its first outdoor regular-season game, with the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings to meet at Dodger Stadium Jan. 25.

That game will be the first of three outdoor games planned for the week leading up to Super Bowl XLVIII slated for New Jersey on Feb. 2.

The plan involves the New York Rangers playing two games at Yankee Stadium -- vs. the New Jersey Devils Jan. 26 and New York Islanders Jan. 29.

The remaining games would take place on March 1 at Chicago's Soldier Field, pitting the Blackhawks against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

On March 2, the Canadian-based Heritage Classic will return with the Vancouver Canucks hosting the Ottawa Senators at B.C. Place.

A few good seasons? Vernon was one of the top 3-4 best goaltenders from 1986 to 1991 including a Stanley Cup. His stats went down south once the Flames started dealing everybody and anybody. Osgood always put his team in a position to win. That's all you can ask.

Hawks vs Canucks- Because it's just meant to be. I mean, what a Final Four that would be. Boston v Pens might be more appealing in the East, but i personally would like to see Caps vs Pens.

The Blackhawks are very very good. Good defense. Great offense. Great goaltending if Emery is healthy. Toews really should be the MVP of the league. The best 2-way player in the game hands down. Kane, Hossa..Saad is quietly the rookie of the year probably. The Blackhawks are stacked.
