Sounds like more releases are on the way as well.
Shame Trent never was really given a chance to come back to the main roster after his injury.

Should have stayed missing. They can't release him if they can't find him.

Bummer. But it's a business and stuff like this is inevitable.

Gutted, guy was nothing but potential, but maybe trying TNA or Japan will benefit him in the long run.

If anyone, it'll be Mason Ryan, Zeke, or Yoshi.

I'm hoping it's Mason Ryan.

Apparently Mason worked the NXT tapings and was 'ok'

I thought Yoshi was some sort of trade deal with NJPW or something.

Yoshi made it to the WWE by himself purely from his high level of mastering the English language.

Genuinely thought there was some kinda deal made, like TNA had with Okada?

I just spent 10 seconds looking at wiki, he's signed to a full WWE contract, no ties to NJPW. That's the sort of research you do to prevent yourself from looking like a racist.

Trent Beretta vs. Sonjay Dutt on WM weekend should be awesome

Depending on who actually gets cut, the post-Mania cleaning might be even bigger since almost all those would be people who've been vocal or pissed at how badly the WWE was money pinching them last year.

This sucks. Trent was nothing but potential that never got a chance. Hopefully he can make a name for himself in Japan.

I'm going to see if he can help me fix my shed. I'm sure he lives in the Tampa area as most rasslers do. Probably b/c of all the titty bars.

shame.... I've been saying it for a long time, Ryder/Barreta/Hawkins as a "Freebird-esque" Long Island Express/Connection/whatever tag team..... and after watching Ryder's final internet show, he may be throwing in the towel as well.....

Then he didn't want it all that bad to begin with did he? At the risk of sounding like Gertner, Those guys are ok but they are typical internet darlings. They aren't anything special.

Trent Barreta could have been a useful part of WWE TV. Fuck this company.
Barretta would have been highly useful as a ring general on NXT. The reason for release might go beyond backstage politics.

Pity he's a great worker I wouldn't be suprised if they brought him back after several years of working elsewhere probly was just a creative team victim.

What was so fucking great about Trent Baretta? Seriously? "Creative team victim" come the fuck on.

Right. Trent wasnt garbage in the ring, but he wasnt that much different than the dozens of guys they have. And he had no gimmick or personality.

He's a vanilla midget. Pure and simple. The company is bringing in new vanilla midgets like Ohno and Generico that the fans won't give two shits about too.
Two pages for Trent Barreta?

Here's the thing...
I'm as much anti-"vanilla midget" as anyone.
Benoit winning the title was fucking stupid.
Daniel Bryan was not a good world champion. Great in the spot he is in now... but not a good world champion.
Trent Barreta probably never would have worked as a world champion. But he could have been useful. He was fun as fuck to watch.
