Lets imagine if the undertaker was a black african american.his gimmick and push stays the same, he is just a big black dude. Do u think he would have gotten as popular or is there hidden racism in the wrestling world?

Black people tend to be pretty big. I mean, we bred them that way. You don't want scrawny field labour, do you?

There's racism everywhere. Even psychological racism that people don't even realize that they possess.
But to answer this question....we don't know.
He plays a dead man gimmick who shoots lightening bolts out his fingertips, I doubt anything would of stopped him from being popular if he can get over with that baggage and besides, black people always die first in the movies and TV shows anyway.

No. As someone who is a "dead man" he needs to be pale.

Vince would never let a colored get that over.

I'm almost certain that in his private life he uses words like "the coloreds" and "the blacks".

The Ministry of Darkness would have been the Nation of Domination.

Or very awkward.

The Ministry of Darkness would have been a much more literal name.

This is actually a good question. Judging by Papa Shango, it could go either way, but in the early 90's there was a dearth of black stars and it was around that time that Ron Simmons broke the color barrier and became World Champion. Could go either way, but I don't think they would have done anything different if Mark happened to be black.

You should be careful with such statements, KK. This is how Jimmy The Greek went down.

He probably would have been released and went to WCW as:
"The Big" Mark Calloway
They might have also placed him in Harlem Heat

That is interesting, because the argument is that it was Mark, not the Undertaker that got over with the fans. Supposedly, there was somebody using the "Undertaker" gimmick before him (not Brian Lee). I guess it's like asking if Steve Lombardi had been the Original Doink instead of Matt Borne, would the character been as popular?
